My uncle sent me this and thought it was an appropriate time to share it with you

The Truth?

OP posts:
TheDevilsAdvocate · 01/01/2007 13:24

Not going to apologise or say I was wrong for my thoughts no matter how much it is argued

Try harder WWW, you do know me. Been around an awful long time .

Give me a clue then? I think 2 boys, London, am I right?

TheDevilsAdvocate · 01/01/2007 13:29

I know you weren't Sobernow, I was responding to WWW

TheDevilsAdvocate · 01/01/2007 13:29

Wrong location WWW

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2007 13:29

Don't care whether you apologise or not either, but hey, I think you were wrong, KATG is neither here nor cares. So we'll agree to disagree.

Papillon · 01/01/2007 13:37

Whatever "beliefs" we hold and contemplate about 9/11 it is not without empathy. It has changed our world bringing death, grief, fear and torment.

drosophila imo "conspiracy" or questioning is good, especially when peoples lives are risked in all kinds of wars, and financially propelled.

cyrilsquirrel · 01/01/2007 13:41

I would much rather have a proper debate about something that actually interests me than spend time discussing what's for dinner? or similiar.

If it doesn't interest you, then leave the thread (not MN) if it does, then stay and discuss it with others who are interested.

JoolsToo · 01/01/2007 13:42

What's it like, I wonder, to believe everything the government tells you? To believe they are beneath underhand dealings? To believe that anyone who questions an event has a few screws missing.

TheDevilsAdvocate · 01/01/2007 13:50

Cyril, I am assuming your post is aimed at me since you mention leaving MN.

If so, I have not said the discussion does not interest me and FWIW you will rarely find me on a dinner thread.

christie1 · 01/01/2007 14:20

I repeat OMG I can't believe I am reading this. debate discuss, all for it but, conspiracy theories, what's next, the towers were blown up by martians. Please people, dont' let anti-american or anti-bush views cloud otherwise sound minds. It is disrespectful to all those who lost their lives. In law we have a concept of reasonable doubt which leaves room for much argument and discussion and debate, but, as I was told early on when I started working as a lawyer, it has to be based in reasonable.

don't read it then. As a lawyer I'd have thought you'd have been interested in all hypotheses and not take things at face value.

I find it scary that you do.

RubberDuckInLeftoverCurry · 01/01/2007 15:01

I don't believe everything I'm told and I CERTAINLY don't believe any government is whiter than white...

I just find a lot of conspiracies tend to wilfully mislead by deliberately misquoting and poor understanding of science - a bit like those awful patronising "and here's the science part" on skincare ads. Just enough pseudo-science to make it sound believable and reel people in...

... all imo of course

Tinker · 01/01/2007 18:11

I've lost track of which bits people believe now

Is this a summary:

  • WTC1 and WTC2 were not hit by planes at all
  • They were but were then demolished in controlled explosions
  • WTC7 was definitley demolished by controlled explosion
  • The Pentagon wasn't hit by a plane at all but by a cruise missile
  • The plane that was reported to have hit teh Pentagon had all its passengers removed
  • They were then gassed by the CIA
  • All the planes had all their passengers removed
  • They were all gassed by teh CIA
  • All teh phonecalls to relatives were made by actors
  • All meetings scheduled for 9/11 in teh WTC were mysteriously rearranged
  • All attendees at said meetings were told not to tell anyone about this - but did
  • The Bush adminsitration arranged all of this to justify war in Iraq
  • Bush is a lizard
Tinker · 01/01/2007 18:12

Forgot

  • Pentagon plane didn't crash, was shot down
QuootiepieTheHogmanayAss · 01/01/2007 18:15

you think the people were gassed and the bodies put back in?

Tinker · 01/01/2007 18:16

I don't think that!

QuootiepieTheHogmanayAss · 01/01/2007 18:17

oh, what I meant it, that's what some people think?

QuootiepieTheHogmanayAss · 01/01/2007 18:18

*is, not it

Tinker · 01/01/2007 18:18

Yup, according to this thread.

QuootiepieTheHogmanayAss · 01/01/2007 18:20

But, if anyone suspected that, wouldn't a body be exhumed and tested for gas? If that was possible...

ruty · 01/01/2007 18:22

i don't believe any of the things you listed Tinker [except Bush is a lizard of course.] I would however like to have a rational explanation for why some of the alleged terrorists claim to be alive and well as reported by the BBC. That at least may merit further exploration.

Tinker · 01/01/2007 18:24

I'm just the messenger.

I'm prepared to accept:

Pentagon plane shot down - don't see this as controversial in same way don't see the Coventry bit in the war (mentioned earlier) as controversial

WTC7 demolished by controlled explosion - not sure why this is deemed to be controversial.

Tinker · 01/01/2007 18:24

Forgot that one ruty.
