What a pair. Her endorsement speech yesterday was just bonkers - words just fail me when it comes to Donald Trump.

Is this the best America has to offer?

Do you know who the brains of ISIS are?

claig · 24/01/2016 19:09

No I don't, but I suspect that the US military and the CIA etc know who they are.

shebird · 24/01/2016 19:36

'They will be defeated quickly when Trump and Palin start'

While I would love nothing more for someone to come along and solve the worlds problems, this pair let loose just fill me with dread. Sarah Palin thinks she's in some spoof action movie, yeee haw lets get those mother f*ers. The woman is clearly unhinged.

claig · 24/01/2016 19:40

shebird, I think some of that is to get the crowd geed up. She definitely enjoys scaring the bejeezus out of her opponents and the crowd love it.

BungoWomble · 24/01/2016 19:46

I have only one thing to say at the thought of Trump and Palin as supporters of the people with their fingers on the nuclear weaponry of the US: "Cameron, Blair, I loooooove you!"

shebird · 24/01/2016 19:56

I'd like to think anyone with this amount of responsibility would be a fairly measured level headed type, someone calm under pressure and not hot headed, inflammatory and reactionary.

Americans seem to want the opposite.

'Americans seem to want the opposite'

Yes, I think the Conservative voters do prefer a bit of the ole can-do kick-ass spirit. As Palin says "kick Isis ass". The Jeb Bush, measured Sunday school teacher Establishment approved approach is sinking like a lead balloon. It's the USA, Palin and Trump, rock'n'roll Smile

shebird · 24/01/2016 20:14

The bravado is certainly entertaining, but how long will the bravado wash when the supporters realise that there ain't no quick fix to the multitude of problems America faces.

OP posts:
claig · 24/01/2016 20:15

Tina Fey doing the Palin Trump endorsement. She does sound like her but it is not as funny as I was expecting.

shebird · 24/01/2016 20:25

Just reminds me Dallas. Palin is Sue Ellen (when she was on the sauce) and he's JR Ewing.

That jacket Grin

OP posts:
claig · 24/01/2016 20:47

Good one. Yes it is Sue Ellen and JR Ewing Grin

Trump hates even calling himself a "politician".

Why is the stupid pillock running for political office then? It's not compulsory FFS.

claig · 24/01/2016 21:53

Larry Sanders, Bernie Sanders's brother, interviewed on Channel 4 News

claig · 24/01/2016 21:55

'Why is the stupid pillock running for political office then? It's not compulsory FFS.'

Because he wants to make America great again and fix it. He has had enough of America "losing" all the time and "being ripped" by lots of countries and wants the "losers" and "stupid people running the country" out of office. Trump is a patriot and wants to fix America.

wasonthelist · 24/01/2016 21:57

I think they will if Trump gets in. Once the head is cut off the hydra, the lone wolves will wither away.

Bollocks. In the extraordinarily unlike event of him winning and trying this there will be thousands of working class Americans slaughtered in foreign warfare, resulting in everything being at least as bad as it was before - see Vietnam, Iraq etc. Americans like Trump and Palin think they have superior firepower and technology (only partially true) and that's enough - but it isn't. They are also (or soon will be) in bed with powerful warmongers in the "defence" industry which makes a tidy amount out of sending US service people off to be slaughtered.

wasonthelist · 24/01/2016 21:59

Trump is a patriot and wants to fix America.

Actually - that bit may be true. Unfortunately it's not enough. He needs skill and brains - neither of which he has.

claig · 24/01/2016 22:06

'warmongers in the "defence" industry which makes a tidy amount out of sending US service people off to be slaughtered'

You don't really understad what is going on. The US does not send its soldiers to be slaughtered. As Trump's former adviser said "it's time we ended these pinprick attacks on Isis and finished them off". As Sarah Palin said in her endorsement of Trump that with the right Commander in Chief America would "kick Isis ass".

Our general said they coud do it in two weeks, imagine what the US generals could do it in if given the go-ahead.

"We can WIPE evil ISIS off the map in 14 DAYS: British generals bullish message to Cameron

A FULL-SCALE ground offensive in Syria using tanks and infantry would wipe Islamic State off the map in less than three weeks, according to senior generals"

www.express.co.uk/news/world/621154/Islamic-State-British-generals-14-days-David-Cameron-terror.

These Jihadis and Isis have been backed and funded by some people in allied countries to us. Not only will Trump wipe Isis out, he will also get the backers and funders of Isis.

The current leadership is saying it will take a generation to beat the London DJ Jihadis in Isis. Trump has said "we are always losing, we are even losing to Isis". That won't happen under Trump.

claig · 24/01/2016 22:11

'He needs skill and brains - neither of which he has.'

Trump is a leader. As he says "America is full of amazing people, not the "losers" in government". America has some of the brightest, sharpest, most educated, most technologically savvy people on the planet. If you think a bunch of London DJ Jihadis making youtube videos could last 5 minutes against the power of the USA, you haven't got a clue.

claig · 24/01/2016 22:15

Fox News reported and Trump repeats it that Obama was not bombing Isis's oil tankers and installations, with which they make ther money to fund theor operation, for a long time due to possible "environmental damage". Trump said "won't happen when I'm in charge".

wasonthelist · 24/01/2016 22:16

I agree, in fact I work with some. Trump and his daft supporters don't number amongst them - he is a thick arrogant buffoon.

wasonthelist · 24/01/2016 22:19

Fox news also reported (with a straight face so you can't use your "it was a joke wheeze") that Brimingham was an Islamic City where non-muslims don't go. Nothing Fox news (or Trump) says should be regarded as anything except total nonsense.

wasonthelist · 24/01/2016 22:20

Excuse me for not taking the word of Generals about how long a military campaign might take - it'll be over by Christmas - yeah, right.

claig · 24/01/2016 22:20

' he is a thick arrogant buffoon'

You sound like some of our servant class of MPs in Parliament who wanted to ban Trump. You called him a "pillock", they enjoyed themselves by calling him a "wazzock". When he gets in, you will see how quickly he sorts Isis out.

claig · 24/01/2016 22:22

'it'll be over by Christmas - yeah, right'

Yes, that was the German Army. This is a bunch of London DJ Jihadis and mercenaries funded by Sunni backers and whose oil is bought by some people in allied countries. When Trump gets in, it will be over way before Christmas.

claig · 24/01/2016 22:33

'Fox news also reported (with a straight face so you can't use your "it was a joke wheeze") that Brimingham was an Islamic City where non-muslims don't go'

No, that was a guest on Fox News. They can't control what their guests come out with. It wasn't their reporters who aid it.

'Nothing Fox news (or Trump) says should be regarded as anything except total nonsense.'

This is the arroagance that we are fed in our country. I used to believe that since that is what we are told and all the right-on comedians make jokes about that. Then I actually started watching Fox News because Trump was on and I can tell you that all of their hosts including on teh daytime slots are very well educated, many of them attorneys and prosecutors, and that all of them bar none are extremely knowledgeable on politics and can interview generals and top politicians without reading from prompts. The level of analysis is far superior to our news channels despite what we are told.

After watching Fox for several days, I watched Channel 4 News again and I saw through what outright propaganda it was. Nearly the whole hour was full of stuff about Jihadis from London going to Syria and showing their sister giving evidence in Parliament, then funding to help prevent them being radicalised, then stuff about refugees in Calais etc etc It was a relief to get back to Fox News and see world events being discussed.
