KareninsGirl · 07/01/2015 13:00

My thoughts are with the victims of the latest barbaric act by Islamic extremists.

The world needs to wake up and defend itself.

RIP those who died and prayers for those critically injured.

Lol bohemian, I have never assumed collection time responsibility. what are you wittering on about?

OP posts:
dreamingbohemian · 07/01/2015 16:52

Exactly, 500Decibels

Already there have been expressions of sympathy and support from Muslim resistance groups in Raqqa, where ISIS is headquartered -- they are fighting the same forces of extremism as we are. We need to be allies with Muslim communities and groups, not paint them all as murderers and terrorists.

TheFairyCaravan · 07/01/2015 17:08

The vast majority of Muslims in the world tonight will be as shocked and disgusted by this attack as the rest of us. We can't blame them all, that is ridiculous, we have to ne United and work together.

Right now I hate the world and would quite like to get off!

BackOnlyBriefly · 07/01/2015 17:20

So if we're going with this idea of collective responsibility, I assume OP you don't mind taking the blame for hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis.

As a matter of fact I'd say that we do all bear some responsibility for Iraq. It's not that we did it, but we picked a government that did. You can't just shrug that off and say "not my problem".

In our defence we didn't know it would happen and so I'd only really blame someone who still supported it now and claimed it was a good idea.

Of course, Muslims don't elect people to be Muslim so that doesn't quite work so as long as they don't support it now I can't blame them.

Of course anyone who went around saying the Koran was the word of god would have to take some responsibility because that encourages people to do what the book says. Just like it does with the bible.

Eh?

mrsruffallo · 07/01/2015 17:39

Uh-oh

fancyanotherfez · 07/01/2015 17:41

I think one thing that Western governments might want to do is stop pandering to Saudi Arabia and their oil. Saudi Arabia funds some of these terrorist organisations and promote their extremist Wahabi version of Islam in the West. It seems the 'friendship' goes only one way. We need to completely stop our reliance on oil from the Middle East.

ThisOneAndThatOne · 07/01/2015 17:41

"The Zionist press"

Hmm
LemonySnug · 07/01/2015 17:43

According to a high ranking Dutch civil servant, ISIS is a zionist plot (she has now been sacked, her name is Yasmina Haifi).

People are in denial what is going on, especially politicians, same happened during the 1930s ... Is history about to repeat itself?

fancyanotherfez · 07/01/2015 17:43

oh dear...

KareninsGirl · 07/01/2015 17:43

agree with fancyanotherfez.

ArsenicFaceCream · 07/01/2015 17:49

Of course it wasn't carried out by Muslims. How can such a large population of intelligent people (Terra excluded) be so blind and willing to lap up the claptrap put out there by the zionist press. A genuine reaction by Muslims would have been a lot more immediate and as for shouting key phrases to blind you further, it is Woolwich all over again.

ODFOD. All this conspiracy nonsense about Lee Rigby's murder is ridiculous.

ArsenicFaceCream · 07/01/2015 17:52

How on earth could Lee Rigby's killing possibly be other than it appeared gaz?

Are you chronically hard of thinking? Or merely insane?

ArsenicFaceCream · 07/01/2015 17:53

Jeez I hope his family never read this shite.

MarjorieMelon · 07/01/2015 17:55

I don't think there is much to "understand" tbh. They do it because they can.

It goes beyond radicalisation and isn't about religion although they use that as an excuse.

Islamic terrorists all have their reasons for doing the things they do. I don't buy the whole "brainwashing". For the guys at the top it's about power and hatred. For the minions at the bottom it's about power and hatred. Some of the converts become Muslims because they want to become radicalised and feel they have power. If Christians were joining extremist groups and killing people these people would just as likely have converted to Christianity.

It really isn't about Islam.

cuddlecouch · 07/01/2015 17:59

Muslim colleagues i work with have been in tears today. They are disgusted along with the rest of the world. According to them their prophet would be far more pages by killing in his name than cartoons.

I have to day it all v bizarre to me. Combat experienced men, shooting random Islamic phrases, organised, aware of the editors meeting date and time, clear crisp french spoken. Within minutes of it happening the Internet news announced it was terrorists. Something doesn't fit right. It reeks of mossad.....

It's Sickening and my heart goes out to the victims and their families.

ArsenicFaceCream · 07/01/2015 18:02

Something doesn't fit right. It reeks of mossad....

ENOUGH with the anti-semitic innuendo on this thread already.

It certainly took Prince Andrew off the front pages. ...

Rip to the victims and their families. Despicable acts done by cowards.

KareninsGirl · 07/01/2015 18:05

cuddle couch

take your disgusting antisemitic conspiracy theory crap off of this thread.

OP posts:
cuddlecouch · 07/01/2015 18:06

Fyi I'm jewish myself. Why is mentioning mossad anti semitic? They have a track record on par with the monsters of isis.

Bizarre reasoning.

KareninsGirl · 07/01/2015 18:07

Because you are basically making things up and implicating mossad in a tragic situation which reflects tragedies being played out globally. All down to Islamic extremists.

Hmm I think cuddlecouch thought one of the episodes of Spooks was actually real.
