Panic in elite circles

Leave the deficit reduction and other tough decisions to the Conservatives, and leave the EU/immigration exit scam and £19 billion of tax cuts they can never deliver, to Ukip.

Is Carswell parading his new Deputy Dawg of Ukip badge around Clacton?

WetAugust · 30/09/2014 17:38

Carswell was posing outside his UKIP election office in Clacton with Red Ken and David Mellor today.

Isitmebut · 01/10/2014 14:15

Are you saying that shows lack of character, or he is joining the 'has beens'?

HenriettaTurkey · 01/10/2014 17:10

Apparently there's a live defection in a few minutes on sky news...who knows?

HenriettaTurkey · 01/10/2014 17:27

Ooh the media are pissed! Travelled miles for supposed defection, which turned out to be donor news.

Either they're not as media savvy as they think, or their defector has cold feet.

claig · 01/10/2014 17:32

I read that one of UKIP's donors said there will be 2 more defectors within the next 5 weeks. He said that after that there is no point having any more defectors because the election will be near and there will be no point having any more by-elections.

I think they are staggering the defections for maximum panic effect to the Tories who don't know what to expect day in day out.

psychological warfare

claig · 01/10/2014 19:48

UKIP have got the spinners in a spin, they have got them panicked and demoralised as they see UKIP on the rise. All their plans have been ripped up and thrown to the wind, they are now promising the moon, the sun and the stars, but no one is giving them any hurrahs.

All their whips and whippers don't know which one of them is a kipper. Their membership has collapsed, their councillors know it's all over, there is a sense of doom and disaster as the election approaches ever faster.

Their pollsters ask people in the street if they will vote for them and they are greeted with laughs and derision, everyone's voting UKIP, they've made their decision.

They say they will cut taxes, they said they would "cut the green crap", but the people have had enough of their spin and their claptrap.

In Westminster and the Bulllingdon Club there is just dejection as they await the public's rejection. The spinners feel this is a climate of catastrophe, they know the people have passed the tipping point, they will have to vacate their Westminster seats, the people will kick them out of the joint.

UKIP have just appointed William Havue as their Honorary Treasurer in recognition of his magnificent contribution to fundraising for UKIP.

this is not a joke. I just love a party that gas a sense of humour after the 3 line whip on zealously over enforcing PC that has prevailed for years now. Grin

This election dill be fun

Adam Boulton is being called the Telly Tubby Tory after trying to give Nige a hard time on his Sky interview tonight Grin

The bookies have reckless and the Tories neck and neck in Rochester

Isitmebut · 02/10/2014 14:32

Is there NOTHING Farage/UKIP won't do for a cheap headline?

Re this doner Haig kebabed, who thinks Ukip is worth 1 million squids (rather than the £100,000 now mentioned), Haig quite rightly said yesterday morning the football equivalent of 'whhooo?' - as apparently this 'Tory doner' Ukip put around they were about poach, is not on the Tory records since the new ones began - so if previously paid Tories under the table, lets find out what he stood to gain and who accepted it.

So to get this straight, it looks that a Tory doner that never was, was apparently now so impressed with the Conservatives he turned up to pay Conservatives £100,000 at the Tory conference rather than the UKIP one, even though rumored to be defecting to Ukip days ago - but because he felt 'insulted' by Haig, he has now coughed up £1 million to Farage - p-lease, can you lot get any more Mickey Mouse before the Clacton by-election???

Just like an ex Boris assistant defecting to Ukip was meant to unhinge the unhinged (lol) before HIS speech the day before Cameron's, the Ukip spin machine wanted a Tory backer (no doubt anti Cameron) to 'defect' before Camerons, any didn't care how manufactured. What a shower.

Isitmebut · 02/10/2014 14:38

Did you see the Daily Politics today; Patrick was asked 'why don't you tell us what Ukip stand for, rather than what you're against' - finally, people are asking what IS the point of voting Ukip, especially if we'll end up getting Labour in 2015 and we know what they STAND on, 'the people'..

claig · 02/10/2014 15:10

'Patrick was asked 'why don't you tell us what Ukip stand for, rather than what you're against'

Yes, but that was a predicatble question by Fabian socialist and metropolitan media favourite, Shami Chakrabarti.

All the voters voting UKIP in their tens of thousads in Clacton and elsewhere, none of whom are metropolitan types, know what UKIP stand for. They stand for the people not the elite, they stand for direct democracy, for proportional representation, for common sense, low taxation and self determination, they stand for everything the metropolitan elite are against.

OP posts:
Isitmebut · 02/10/2014 15:38

There's nowt wrong with Shami's question, I've leathered you with the same one for several months now.

Ukip voters accept what Ukip stands on any given month or year, mainly as she said, because they are anti political.

Ukip's policies often departs 'when the wind changes', and the anti politics is partly thanks to UKIP's constant propaganda in their homes when they accept from the Brussels MEP elite with a shit attendance record, that the Westminster MP's are elite and by tarring with same brush, all have the same solutions to our problems, which is obvious rubbish - and mentioning many Tory ideological policies you say Ukip have, and deliver them in government, proves the point.

There is no standard Metropolitan elite politician, thats bollocks, as why are those from Eaton seemingly worried more about controlling the immigration they CAN control, creating jobs, unemployment falling at fastest rate for 25-years, building homes, offering an efficient funded NHS, and a deficit sapping the countries income on interest charges that could be better spent, than those who SAY they represent the people.

And the choice for May, does not include Ukip, far closer in policies to the Conservatives than to Labour.

claig · 02/10/2014 15:57

"anti politics"

This is the phrase the Fabian socialists, the Bullingdon Club and the metropolitan elite all use about UKIP. But how is 1000 ordinary people, mostly non-UKIP members, turning out in Clacton's biggest political meeting in lifetime memory, with cars outside double-parked in the street on a midweek evening, anti-politics?

This is real politics, this is people politics, this is no spin, this is the real deal because people have now had enough.

This is not "anti-politics" as the Fabians and Bullingdonians claim, this is anti the cosy consensus politicians who are all the same.

OP posts:
claig · 05/10/2014 10:46

Oh dear. The panic continues.

"Ukip's Mark Reckless on course to win Rochester byelection, poll finds

Survation poll puts Reckless nine points ahead in seat seen as much less promising for Ukip than Douglas Carswell’s Clacton"

“Should Reckless become Ukip’s second ever-elected MP – despite the Conservative campaign machine threatening to ‘throw the kitchen sink’ at the election – certain Conservative MPs may conclude that it is actually safer for their careers to cross the floor to Ukip than stand and fight Farage’s insurgency.”

Claig, I live in rural Yorkshire & yet agree with Shami, as do plenty of people I know. Are we the 'metropolitan elite'?

May I humbly suggest your stereotyping needs an update. Fwiw, I think John Major has it right when he talks about immigrants & the right would do well to listen to him. His background is far more working class than Farage too.

I'll see if I can find the article.

claig · 05/10/2014 11:20

'Are we the 'metropolitan elite'? '

No, you aren't the metropolitan elite. The metropolitan elite are the opinion formers, the people who run the media, the Oxbridge types who are in key positions of power and who decide what the public discourse will be. That is why they invite Shami on, because that is where they want the people to go.

OP posts:
HenriettaTurkey · 05/10/2014 11:25

Oh I see. The type who went to public boarding school like, for example, Dulwich College.

Excellent. Thanks for clarifying.

claig · 05/10/2014 11:25

John Major is right that immigrants are grafters but the arguments for control of borders and controls on immigration are nothing to do with whether people are grafters or not.

John Major misses the point and is out of touch. He says that immigrants are "natural conservatives" when it is widely held to be true that most immigrants vote Labour or democrat in the States. So he is not only out of touch but also wrong.

OP posts:
claig · 05/10/2014 11:27

'The type who went to public boarding school like, for example, Dulwich College. '

No it has nothing to do with where peope went to school or how much money they have, it is to do with an establishment mindset.

Farage is not establishment, he is with the people, just like the donor who is worth £100 million who recently gave £1 million to UKIP is.

OP posts:
claig · 05/10/2014 11:33

Mr Banks, the £100 million worth UKIP donor, is richer than Cameron and the chums and the Eton, Oxbridge types, but he is not establishment, he is with the people.

He is reported as saying

‘Stick your offshore tax story where the sun don’t shine’, before adding: ‘Up the revolution!’
