Ah, it seems that there's an explanation (I misunderstood about a bullet and bullet casing, note being a firearms expert and all that!):

PD6966 so 3 bullets hot Reeva? Was that 1 in hip, 1 in upper right arm, 1 in head? 1 bullet missed? Have I got that correct.

Yes, Free four bullets fired, one missed and ended up in toilet bowl after ricochet...

Very glad to have found this thread! I'm a lawyer (not a criminal one!) on mat leave with a 16 month old and a 12 week old so am obsessed in between nappy changes but DCs are too little to discuss it and none of my friends seen to have been following it!

I also did a masters at the university of stellenbosch in South Africa. It's an Afrikaans university so meet plenty of Afrikaner men with the same gun love as OP

I think OP is blending fact and fiction here. I think that Reeva was using the ipad, as he said. I think she had come over and was being fairly lovey dovey re Valentine's Day. Had brought her present etc. OP wasn't really feeling it/she was niggling him. Not sure where the relationship was going.

They went to bed, Reeva started looking at the ipad. Found that OP had been looking at porn. Was annoyed - she is religious/was over for a romantic evening. An argument ensued. There's something with the phones that we've not quite got to yet. I think she took her phone and OP's into the toilet with her. To look at what he had on that phone - this is the one that OP "can't remember" the pass code for. She locked herself in the loo with her phone and his. There maybe more porn on that phone - maybe he was looking at gay porn or something more "unusual" and OP was embarrassed and angry. Worried about her telling people and his image being affected. Even if not, I think he just took exception to her telling him he couldn't look at porn - she's annoying him anyway.....he's not that in to her. She wants a different type if relatij ship than him - perhaps pushing fir some commitment

OP lost the plot at this stage and told her if she didn't open the door, he'd shoot it open (or shoot her?) and to get the fuck out of his house. This is when she started screaming for help out the window as she knew she couldn't open the door and get out as he was on the other side. So she started screaming out the window. OP then starts shooting......

So, the issue is that the prosecution have led all of their evidence and nothing about his phone etc. obviously the defence won't be dealing with it but this is what I think probably happened.

Nerf I agree 72 metres is quite far. Is Dr Stipp house the one over looking the front of OP house?
OP bathroom is to the left hand side of his house over the back side I believe. (Left hand side if facing the front of OP house.

Gobbolino - is there any evidence re history on the iPad or is that totally your thoughts?
I'm surprise we haven't had any pushing about possible arguments before hand but maybe I've missed it.

Gobbolin I was also glad to find this thread as no one on Facebook seemed interested. Based on evidence so far, I also feel the circumstantial evidence of neighbours hearing shouting/screaming before gun shots is overwhelming. Not sure what caused her to flee to toilet, but the fact is he shot her four times and MUST, MUST, MUST have heard to same female screams as the neighbours...and I don't mean his high-pitched scream.

There was evidence of history on iPad, was it not looking at cars?
I thought there was a search on a phone for "free mobile porn" not sure which phone and this was only brought up once and nothing since.

Do you know anything about the human rights issue and Nel calling OP a liar - could this be a serious enough issue to prejudice the case?

Sorry just looked it up, there was a search in the history on the iPad of free mobile porn and used cars. This search showed as 6.30pm that evening, this I believe is the time OP said he went upstairs while Reeva was cooking dinner, he said he changed into his pjs etc.

Gobbolino, I thought the prosecution hadn't found anything on the iphone that was locked. And I also thought we'd seen all the ipad activity they wanted us to see.

A pp earlier today mentioned some other whatsapps that hadn't been mentioned in court, related to sex and they were reprodcued in a magazine. They probably didn't put them into the record out of respect for Reeva.

But other than them, I think if there had been anything further, we might already have heard.

Re the porn, in OP's evidence he came home, went upstairs for a while to have a shower and get changed. This was about the time the porn was accessed, although as I recall, it was only for around 20 seconds, so it was suggested it was a pop up, or maybe he was downloading.

I did wonder at him going up to "take a shower" and wondered if he was watching porn quickly while Reeva was downstairs.

However, Mr Nel is full of surprises, so who knows

I don't think calling OP a liar on a few occasions is enough to prejudice the case. The judge has been right on it and she will disregard these comments - it maybe more if an issue if there was a jury

The human rights thing is a load of nonsense. It would be very worrying if a body such as that could interfere in the administration of justice. If OP's right to a fair trial has been prejudiced, which I don't think it has, it should be dealt with by way of appeal

The complaint is as ridiculous as me reporting OP for breaching Reeva's human rights by basically blowing her head off, mistake or not. The correct way for OP to be dealt with is by way of the judicial system - not the human rights commission - so same with this.

I'll need to check the porn piece/phone again. I do think there's more to this though and it's to do with porn. I think he probably was going to have a wank in the shower so had a quick google.

I think, at the end if the day, the prosecution don't actually have to worry too much about what they were arguing about - just that they were arguing.

Hi I've been keeping up to date with this thread and I am interested in every ones view. I am still undecided as to if he knew it was Reeva, he is certainly convincing on the stand. At times I actually feel sorry for him. He is very boyish and seems very young at times. I find the porn theory interesting as it would definitely give a reason to argue and why they didn't have sex that night or did they??? Perhaps he wanted to and she didn't he then had a tantrum which made her decide to leave only he became more angry and lost his temper. I guess we will never know :-/

Are we agreeing that the blood splatters place the duvet on the floor at the time OP shot and killed MS Steenkamp?

Therefore the fan was in situ in front of the balcony doors which means his story was mostly bobbins?

The not checking for a ladder bit was terrible

The running around with a cocked and loaded gun and eventually a cricket bat...er?

The blood spatter and label evidence means that the police moved neither the jeans nor duvet
Given the wires and the clippers between the wires leading to the fan it is clear that it also wasn't moved
This is also confirmed by the duvet in front of it.

This indicated that OP's story hugely fabricated

Proving the duvet was on the floor was excellent for the prosecution IMO
