I did think that the bedrooms as far too tidy for a child!

The only reason or there to be so many different stories about the child's origin is that there is something to hide.

Now if a child was just handed over to the family, so without any formal adoption, would she be taken away from the family? Maybe that's what they are scared of - if she was just given away.

Surely if she was 'adopted' unofficially that equates to child abduction then?

I'm not sure. If a parent gave the child to this couple and said "take the child" that's not really technically abduction is it? I can't see this happening, especially both parents giving consent.

Will have to wait it out over the next few weeks to see what happens. Very keen to know what happens to Maria next.

The bedroom and shoe thing is bizarre. Looks like they've panicked and got people to rally round setting up "children's stuff".

If you only had one bedroom, you wouldn't fill it with a carpet and drawing stuff. You'd all sleep in there.

They must think we are not very bright to fall for the fake bedroom. I didn't realise that was the only bedroom in the house. It is as bad as the story the biological father turned up a few days ago

Or perhaps they are not very bright themselves- i would imagine education levels amongst roma are very poor.

The adoptive father does looks a few sandwiches short of a picnic. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought this when the mugshots were released.

now that they have found out she is 5-6 and not 4, I suppose the 8 families whose dna they are comparing to Maria's cannot be her relatives after all

Its interesting that although she has been 'aged' at 5-6 the roma people are saying she was left with them as a newborn in 2009.

Dick, they seriously must think we will fall for this for some reason. It seems to be the couple and who ever set the bedroom and bio Father story up. They think we are stupid.

I think they are very naive to think it will convince anyone. But i guess they are very desperate to not be found out for whatever the truth is.

A child has been found in Dublin who interpol are now trying to identify. She's a young teenager but it makes you wonder just how many children are being moved around the world and used and abused.

Maybe Marias story is just the tip of a very big iceberg.

Bbc have this story of a blonde child found with Roma who aren't her parents in Dublin. She's younger than a teen though, 7.

at 14-16 i'm sure that girl knows her name to write it down. why haven't they gotten a translator? (it really wouldn't be hard to identify what language she was speaking) 10 days and they haven't done this?

Maybe she cannot talk? The communication in pictures is telling.
