Yes nice but you have took look at the reasoning as to why they are breaking the law. Just look at planning laws over the past 50 years with regards to travellers encampments.

I'm new to this post and also to this news story since living abroad, so please excuse my ignorance and lateness, I have one big question for those of you supporting the travellers who were there illegally -why? How can you defend that? Doesn't everyone have to obey the law?

These travellers are breaking the law in a highly visible way, Making demands causing trouble. Whatever you say, the majority of travellers don't live quietly, minding their own business, not saying boo to a goose. Maybe if they did, they would be overlooked, leftover a bit more sympathy. They are being aided and abetted by, to quote Niceguy, "rentacauses" who have escalated the problem tenfold and made the matter worse.

Why aren't you wallowing in smugness and celebrating the forced removal of ppl from their homes and the subsequent scattering and splitting up of their families instead of coming on MN to fight your corner (the victorious one)? Smacks of insecurity to me.^

Also, just for your information, once a thread has a deletion on it, it goes on a watchlist so MNHQ can keep an eye on it and goes poof if too many deletions occur. I do not say this in any way as a threat but just because actually there are some good points made by some posters on this thread (on both sides) and it would be wonderful if it could remain. So perhaps we could keep the insults to a bare minimum eh?!

Do you know what, I was going to read and comment on the one thoughtful post and coherent post that glasnost made but I really can't be doing with her anymore.

I will have (when I get the chance) read maths posts and go onto the links as she has put her viewpoint across intelligently without hysterics or insults.

We've all heard of Godwins law, We now have Utahs law. Every argument remotely related to politics and law breaking always come back to fox hunting. I am not racist and i am not insensitive to the plight of foreign immigrants who enter this country. I am against the way council house allocation works and i have used the immigrant community here (I did also say polish not just muslim) to point out what will happen if the travellers are allocated priority housing.

The Roma community and Irish Travellers are an ethnic minority in this country the same as the muslims and other groups. I have pointed out that other minorities have their needs met and beliefs accommodated.

I used moondogs post to show how in this country people are allowed to live by their religion and beliefs. By her own admission her parents live in a muslim country and have to live by that country culture. They have to pray in somones house and dress accordingly. Other cultures here do not. They have places of worship provided and can live within their culture as an ethic minority. Some do not respect our religions and beliefs and your very naive if you think they do.

I love the cries of the illiterate gypsy girls being pulled from schools to clean caravans. What about the muslim girls who live under strict sharia law and leave school to enter forced marriages. Oh im sorry, that doesnt happen does it and im not allowed to talk about it regardless of the media campaigns.

Keep twisting though and jumping to conclusions as to who i am and what i believe.
