I have a theory. It's that we all mean well.

Nobody wishes to offend, nobody is deliberately trying to upset anyone.

We all want this case never to have happened, and we all want it resolved.

We just have different ways of processing it; what offends some seems harmless to others. What seems harmful to some does not offend others.

I think we need to live and let live...it will all go away given a few days or weeks, for us lot anyway. Not for her family or friends but for us, it will.

I suggest we stick to threads we feel happy on and let others say what they want in other places.

It would remove the fighting at least, which to me appears uglier than any of the speculation.

What do you all think? Is it worth a try?

Don't worry. The whole thing is hideous. The theorising is hideous. But the board is crazy today, we are all a bit bumfuzzled.

I am old enough to remember all the people that just knew Colin stagg dud it because he looked like a right dodgy sort..poor bastard.

Flight - I didn't read the other threads as have no wish to speculate on who murdered the poor woman.

But if people read this thread and see what Pag/Goblin said and then perhaps think about speculating that some-one may be a murderer purely because of their appearance or slightly different behaviour - well I think thats a good thing.

I hate that kind of thing. I just ignored it though. I know it's stupid and it reflects on the people who think that way more than the object of their derision.

I have not speculated on the case because I would not do so. But I have read things on here which are genuinely frightening and are pertinent to the well being of my child.

To read people writing in all sincerity that they could tell that a man is capable of murder because he looks odd or behaves strangely is totallybshocking. It seems as outrageous to me as someone saying that they knew a guy was a potential mugger because he was black.

Now if someone posted ' I saw this black guy and I just knew he was a mugger because well he was black' would you just hide the thread or would you challenge it.. Would you think ' oh well, each to his own'

Now I am massively at fault because i am tired and itvwas easier to mock these wankers than confront. That was weak of me. And I can see why the title of this thread would shock or bother some.

Ds2 is odd. I am just aware that he is already 14 and taller than me. When he is 6 ft like his brother and his odd ways are coupled with physical presence he will be very vulnerable to those who judge on how he looks/acts. The truth is he is gentle and child like.
