Ok?
Who do you think did it? Bearing in mind what you saw on the news?

OP posts:

It's weird but I actually find this far more distasteful than the other two threads...well, much of them.

There were some horrid bits, but at least people weren't blatantly sending up the whole situation. there was some respectfulness involved.

This is just - I don't know what it is, but it's beyond unpleasant. It's conscious mocking, not just accidentally coming across as overinterested.

imo of course...as you were. each to their own, etc etc. But if you can criticise the other threads then come up with this...? Gordian?

AbsofCroissant · 30/12/2010 16:57

So feenie, does your comb over look like this or more like this?

here's a whole article on the "art of the combover"

SpringHeeledJack · 30/12/2010 17:05

oh, Abs!

screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeam!

...I didn't even dare click on the last one

Feenie · 30/12/2010 17:28

Oh first one, deffo, Abs.

You must find Cluedo incredibly offensive then, FA.

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 17:31

On the contrary. We've been playing it daily here, I'm teaching my son.

Do carry on being distasteful over here then an I'll carry on being distasteful over on the other thread.

That way we can all be happy, n'est-ce pas?

pagwatch · 30/12/2010 17:34

Do you know what flight?
My son is exactly the person who will be the target of every 'well he just looked a bit weird and I knew there was something shifty about him' wankers.

And I really need to laugh at their self indulgent, callous stupidity or I would cry.

If you find that more distasteful than the gleeful raking through every morsel that sky news can spew forth then I am happy to be in a different place from you.

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 17:38

Okay. So be it, and I'm sorry about your son.
I've always been teased for being a freak...I don't know your story, but I am sorry.

Clearly judging the man by his appearance is ridiculous, and something I haven't partaken in but this thread title does disturb me.

As do some of the posts on the other threads.

Feenie · 30/12/2010 17:39

Me too, pagwatch.

You carry on too, FA - only one of us is getting their ludicrous comments about real people deleted though.

noddyholder · 30/12/2010 17:40

Awful thread title no matter angle you are coming from. This should be removed

Goblinchild · 30/12/2010 17:41

'My son is exactly the person who will be the target of every 'well he just looked a bit weird and I knew there was something shifty about him' wankers.

And I really need to laugh at their self indulgent, callous stupidity or I would cry.'

Sometimes crying just doesn't quite do it for me.

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 17:41

Feenie, I didn't see your comments that were deleted so I can't comment. The one I had deleted was regarding a link to another case - I hadn't imagined it would need deletion as it reflected media speculation, and didn't accuse.

But fair enough.

I'll leave you to it.

Feenie · 30/12/2010 17:46

This reply has been deleted

Message deleted by Mumsnet.

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 17:47

That's patently untrue.

Feenie · 30/12/2010 17:48

The media speculation linked the case, not a person. Very different.

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 17:49

My deleted post was a one line post. It said 'If it was him, he would have been old enough to be connected to the other case in [year]'.

that was what it said and I said as much in a different post that was not deleted.

I don't consider that to be worthy of your 'stupid' comment. Or even the naive one.

But I don't understand libel law so fair enough if they saw fit.

I'm certain you had more than one post deleted.

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 17:50

and I did not name him.

Feenie · 30/12/2010 17:55

Your post did not say 'if', FA. All the ones with 'if' have not been deleted.

"I did not name him"
No, but you posted it on a thread talking about the ll, and in answer to posts regarding the ll, and were very clearly referring to the ll. Again, that's why it was deleted.

"I'm certain you had more than one post deleted."
Bollocks. Find them if you are so certain - that's libellous!

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 17:56

It did say 'if', do you have a copy of the thread before it was deleted? I know what I wrote.

Feenie · 30/12/2010 18:01

So do I. All the other ones that were careful enough to say 'if' were not deleted. I know because I was one of the ones to report it. Ask MN.

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 18:01

You're right, it is bollocks - that must have been the other thread, I think. Sorry.

But I stand by my own deleted post memory. iyswim

Tutti · 30/12/2010 18:01

flight I'm with you on this one-the title is awful and the content worse.
I use mumsnet to 'catch up' with whats happening 'back home' and frankly I am appalled at the way this has become a 'game' to some of you.
A young woman died.Horribly.
Her family will at some point look her name up.
cos you do.And they will see threads like this.
If it was you how would upu feel.
Imagine your child ,cold ,dead and in a mortuary and you will never hear their voice again.you will never cuddle them again.go on imagine.
now post another silly comment or 'theory'

Flightattendant29 · 30/12/2010 18:03

I doubt MN will have a record of it.

I'm fairly sure I said what I just wrote. If I didn't exactly, it was extremely similar.

I may have said just the last bit - 'he would have been old enough etc etc'

but I don't understand how that differs so importantly from the version with the 'if', tbh.

It's a statement regarding someone's age in relation to another case. It doesn't implicate him. It does nothing more than the statement containing the 'if'.

But I am fairly sure I said 'if'.

Goblinchild · 30/12/2010 18:06

Imagine your child as an adult, condemmned and dammed by a selection of prejudiced women who can tell he's evil just by looking at him.
Because he looks odd, has weird hair, appears strange and doesn't respond in a way that society considers appropriate.
Yes, I do think of my son beaten to death on a slab, and my Goth daughter. Not often mind, because I try to retain a sense of perspective.
Otherwise I'd be too scared to let them out to live their lives.
If the landlord is guilty, let his conviction be based on hard evidence, not on appearance.
