Hi all I am just posting this in order to keep Joannes name in the public domain- This case is very mysterious and so far the police have no real leads although her parents suspect she has been abducted!

The link is below-

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1341106/Distraught-parents-Jo-Yeates-plead-help-finding-missing-architect-daughter.html

Hopefully someone has the information needed to bring Joanna hope safe and well- her parents are distraught!

Correct, seeker - the same people who pointed their fingers at her boyfriend before that, and told us to leave the thread if we didn't like it. Hmm

ClaireDeLoon · 01/01/2011 23:07

This thread is shameful. I hope it can be removed from public view.

Feenie · 01/01/2011 23:11

I have asked MN to remove it more than once, and given them so many reasons why I thought it shouldn't remain. To be fair, they said they totally understood where I was coming from, but thought it important that it should remain, subject to the usual self moderating.

ValiumTinselton · 02/01/2011 00:45

I think that means 'let us do the moderating'. I can't believe you're still hyperventilating about people/posters who are discussing this in the wrong way, unlike yourself who is discussing it in the right way. Hmm

I thought they were more likely to be talking about Twitter which as we know has been going completely barking on this subject...and other forums, and comments sections on press sites.

There has been comparatively very little comment on Mumsnet, and what there has been has been in the vast majority of cases very restrained...and what wasn't restrained has been quickly deleted.

I thought their statements were indicative of brilliant people being extremely balanced where no one would expect them to be balanced.

All credit to them.

As I understand it he was released on bail, which is the 'middle option' of the options available to them. It does not mean he will later be charged nor does it mean he won't be.

But we cannot get anywhere on here, we just go round in circles.

Best left, really.

Feenie, which post was disrespectful and bad taste? Valiumtinsel's?
In what way was that bad taste, out of interest? Is it because she doesn't agree with you?

Feenie · 02/01/2011 10:09

Because she is still arguing the case for this thread to exist, even after the statement yesterday.

Because she was one of the posters that Mr Reardon is referring to, and she still doesn't have the grace to stop.

ValiumTinselton · 02/01/2011 10:19

Feenie, you don't need to cut and paste it. I've done or said nothing against policy.

you are offending me. YOu are not a board monitor, you're not a representitive for MN.

I don't mind whether the thread goes or stays. I just noticed that 48 hours on Feenie was still trying to marshall all other posters into agreeing with her, or something like that.

PLEASE!!! STOP IT. Take all the petty bickering elsewhere.

Please. It's distressing.

Think of a happy, young woman in the prime of her life, whose life was needlessly taken away. How will her loved ones recover from this? And we still don't know who the monster is that did it or why?

Please stop it.

ValiumTinselton · 02/01/2011 11:04

I agree with you actually brownstuff. It isn't necessary to come on to this thread and abuse people. I never forgot for a second that a girl died. I hope that Feenie will stop insulting people.

Feenie · 02/01/2011 11:09

Because you insist that I don't have the right to comment what you and other posters can or cannot post regarding this case.

You were straight in there discussing the arrest of Mr Jefferies - that's what the thread satirised.

DeckTheHallWithBowlsOfPomBears · 02/01/2011 11:11

Valium, you should report the offending posts attacking you, (I have)

ValiumTinselton · 02/01/2011 11:13

Thanks Deck. I feel shocked. I haven't said anything offensive. To be called stupid and crass by somebody so self-righteous when you're racking your brains to think "hang on what did I say?" - it's weird!! I've had a few run ins on mn in my day, but never like this before!

Feenie · 02/01/2011 11:14

It isn't necessary to come on this thread and speculate how a suspect will behave in an interview room. Please don't try to be holier than thou now, Valium.

I haven't forgotten it either. I've explained my motivation to post many times - I can't believe that anyone is still defending the kind of posting we've seen on this subject.

PercyPigPie · 02/01/2011 11:40

Feenie - have you ever been in an empty room? did you manage to start a fight?

Just leave it.

Feenie · 02/01/2011 11:42

Leave what? Would you like to read back - Valium addressed me. Why do I have to leave it?

Feenie · 02/01/2011 11:43

In what world can someone have a go at me, I then defend myself, and people tell me to leave?

PercyPigPie · 02/01/2011 11:53

I rest my case.

Because we hear what you have said. Most of us agree that things on here should not have been posted and it is right that those people were tackled on it.

thebrownstuff · 02/01/2011 11:56

There's a time and place for everything that's all. And this isn't it.

An analogy. Two people are fighting, getting down and dirty in the mud. A third person is walking by and tries to stop them. But. In so doing also gets some mud on themselves. Anothe passer by calls the police, who quickly come and make arrests. But they can't really tell who is guilty of fighting in all the hooha that had ensued so they arrest everyone with mud on them and take them to the police station for questioning.
