Hi all I am just posting this in order to keep Joannes name in the public domain- This case is very mysterious and so far the police have no real leads although her parents suspect she has been abducted!

The link is below-

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1341106/Distraught-parents-Jo-Yeates-plead-help-finding-missing-architect-daughter.html

Hopefully someone has the information needed to bring Joanna hope safe and well- her parents are distraught!

and in case anyone asks, because I have to go out in a minute, one was a personal attack against me (also inaccurate - no apology, despite my apology for being inaccurate in the same place) and one was lower down on this thread and nothing to do with Okcomputer. That was on another thread.

Mine was a one line comment regarding someone's age in relation to a different case.

I just don't see the need for personal attacks against each other, however distasteful we find one another's viewpoint. Or how 'stupid' we find one another.

Sorry Feenie but I feel the need to correct some of the things that have been said on this thread after I logged off last night.

I hope it doesn't start another fight.

Feenie · 31/12/2010 08:39

Really? That's very recent then. Still only two - is that several? - and both for calling people on their moronic behaviour - not an accusation against the family or anything which may damage a case. I didn't say I hadn't told idiots when they were being idiots, or made out that things said on this thread hadn't made me very cross.

Fight? Meh.

Feenie · 31/12/2010 09:25

"one was a personal attack against me (also inaccurate - no apology"

I told you - in mumsnet stylee crossed out lines - that you were stupid for linking the an as yet totally innocent man to another case before he had been charged with the first one. I'm so sorry, I take that back.

I should have said your behaviour was stupid in linking an as yet totally innocent man to another case before he had been charged with the first one, and not crossed it out at all.

Hope that clears things up.

PercyPigPie · 31/12/2010 09:42

Are you unhinged lot still bloody arguing? Why don't you start another thread for your bickering and allow a sensible discussion here?

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 10:11

I see this morning the police have been granted more time in which to question the Landlord. I really hope this means they have more evidence against him then the media have been made aware of. You have to go through a lot of explaining to hold someone without charging them so perhaps they are confident they have the correct man.

I hope they are able to charge as it means it won't be too drawn out a case for Joanna's family.

winnybella · 31/12/2010 10:32

Or it could be that they are just waiting for the results of forensic tests.

Apparently he told all the neighbours that he saw 3 people leaving the flat and then begged them not tell the olice that he said that.

Could be that he was just seeking attention, pretending that he knew more than he did.

The Sun is running a nasty piece on him- full of comments from his former students etc. Shitty thing to do- the guy could very well be innocent.

Feenie · 31/12/2010 10:33

Not surprising though. Fuckers. Sad

donnie · 31/12/2010 10:34

blimey. What a thread. Clack clack clack.

NormaSknockers · 31/12/2010 10:52

Typical of The Sun.

Flightattendant29 · 31/12/2010 11:25

Three, Feenie, not two. The OKcomputer one you have already explained, and the other two.

And I consider 'moronic' offensive, I don't care how cross you were. There's no need for it and yes it is aggressive.

Yes, behaviour = stupid is fine. I was commenting that you hadn't apologised for your inaccurate accusation, not the insult - which I didn't report btw, but someone else did by the look of things.

I can't find my other deleted posts on any of the relevant threads so must therefore presume the one we both mentioned was the only one.

Nevereatyellowsnow · 31/12/2010 12:07

I'm not surprised at all about the Sun's article - eccentric = murderer/rapist/paedophile and articles like that sell papers. Barry George anyone?

Feenie · 31/12/2010 12:12

Jeez, FA, let it go. For someone who claims to hate arguing, you aren't half prolonging this one. My point is this - I have not:

Accused any family members.
Speculated on the guilt of an as yet innocent man.
Speculated at all on the guilt of anyone.
Prejudiced a fair trial.

Therefore I am happy with my moral position on this thread, and I'm not really sure why you're nitpicking. And I don't give a shit whether you consider moronic to be offensive or not - several comments of the above nature have been incredibly moronic.

Nevereatyellowsnow · 31/12/2010 12:38

Are you the thread police Feenie? Hmm You've both made your point, it doesn't really matter who has the last word. Ffs a young woman has died!

Feenie · 31/12/2010 12:58

The last point is the entire premise of my posts, NEYS.

And it's a self-moderating forum. Du-uh.

PercyPigPie · 31/12/2010 13:01

NeverEat - and that guy that hung around Portugal after Madeleine McCann went missing - they arrested him didn't they, as he was 'odd'.

Nevereatyellowsnow · 31/12/2010 13:14

Du-uh? Yep thats not rude or offensive at all Hmm

Feenie · 31/12/2010 13:23

Oh come on, it was a pretty stupid question, and you certainly didn't say it to be polite.

Nevereatyellowsnow · 31/12/2010 13:34

I'm not interested in arguing with you, you seem to feel the need to have the last word so go ahead!

The point I was trying to make is that the law in this country is that a person is innocent until proven guilty. I trust the police and believe that they have evidence that they have the murderer in custody but being eccentric or an "oddball" does not make him guilty.

Feenie · 31/12/2010 13:55

Shock Bloody hell, NeverEat. Next time you don't want to argue with me, can I recommend perhaps not addressing me directly by name with a rude question? Hmm

perfectstorm · 31/12/2010 13:56

PLEASE CAN EVERYONE SHUT UP.

A girl is dead, strangled by someone when she'd only just grown up enough to have a life of her own, for no reason at all. Does it really matter, who is right and who is wrong here, in a thread on the sodding internet? Seriously? If people want a bunfight, the usual venues are still there: crying it out vrs co-sleeping, breast vrs bottle, vax vrs no-vx (bonus points for MMR mention), AIBU. But please, please, this is going to be so high on search threads for months, because Mumsnet is so popular, and people who know/love the victim may well read it. And seeing this is not going to help that at all. These are real people, not characters from EastEnders - they're not on the telly for any reason other than their lives have been smashed apart.

I just feel that this thread is so, so not the right place for all - for any - of this. It's hugely depressing to see that people just don't feel that. It seems incredibly disrespectful to fight on the internet, in a thread supposed to be about a murdered young woman.

Feenie · 31/12/2010 13:58

No, perfectstorm, it is DISRESPECTFUL to say disgusting things about the poor girl's family, it is NOT disrespectful to stand up to people who do so, and I am sick and tired of being told that it is.

aristomache · 31/12/2010 14:02

I know but you've made your point Feenie, you are starting to look as bad as those you're berating, maybe best just leaving it now?

Ewe · 31/12/2010 14:03

Well said perfectstorm, this thread is really not showing Mumsnet at its best.

I really hope that if the landlord is responsible he gets put away for a very very long time. Justice is the only good thing that can now come from this tragic situation.

perfectstorm · 31/12/2010 14:05

Half the posts on the last few pages are by you, arguing that point (a point I have previously agreed with, if you look) and by now, you are very apparently arguing for the sake of it; NOT in defence of any point, just to "win".

And for what? Why does it matter, who said what when? It's not like this thread can be changed now, though I certainly wish to all hell it could be sodding deleted. And yes, this idiotic, self-absorbed, thoroughly wanky squabbling is inappropriate too, now it's stopped being about someone saying something dodgy and deteriorated into who "wins". BOTH are inappropriate. Can you truly not see that?

Feenie · 31/12/2010 14:12

Would you prefer me to ignore posts which address me directly? Because I would find that incredibly difficult.
