Hi all I am just posting this in order to keep Joannes name in the public domain- This case is very mysterious and so far the police have no real leads although her parents suspect she has been abducted!

The link is below-

I wish I could help.

:(

singingcat · 23/12/2010 22:16

Another thing that is very strange is that if you look here at the map, the route she took home was very circuitous. And why did she go to Waitrose and then Tesco? Very odd

TheNextMrsClaus · 23/12/2010 22:18

Very scary. I hope the boyfriend has a watertight alibi, because they are always suspect number one, and the statistics indicate why. But it must be terrible to have the finger of suspicion pointing at you AND your girlfriend is missing.

Feenie · 23/12/2010 22:20

I opened this thread wondering how many posts it would take for someone to accuse the boyfriend. Sad It's human nature, I suppose, given how many case it turns out to be a partner, but very disappointing - no one can possibly know yet, and it's horrible to speculate like that. He might genuinely be going through hell, and internet speculation on his involvement is out of order at this stage, imo.

Sidge · 23/12/2010 22:21

Just saw more about this on the 10 o'clock news.

Such a strange, sad case Sad

nigglewiggle · 23/12/2010 22:21

That is why I think that if he had a water-tight alibi, the police would be very clear about that to encourage people to come forward with other information.

usualsuspect · 23/12/2010 22:23

The pizza thing is weird though

dietcokesholidaysarecoming · 23/12/2010 22:26

I wonder if she bumped into a "friend" and ate pizza with them/was escorted home. The friend then abducted her.

It's truly awful.

icapturethecastle · 23/12/2010 22:27

Hope they find her the parents interview was heart breaking I was really crying thinking what it would be like to be in their position.

YourCallIsImportant · 23/12/2010 22:28

The only time I'd go out of the house without my phone, keys or purse would be if I was popping into a neighbours house.

I thought about this tonight and wondered if maybe she'd done the same.

I really hope she turns up safe and well.

singingcat · 23/12/2010 22:32

Surely you would take at least one of keys/purse/phone if you were going anywhere? They must have been planted in her house. Which means they knew where she lived

Just watched this on the news too, her poor poor parents, heartbreaking to watch, cannot imagine what they are going through. I hope she is found safe Sad

NorthernLurker · 23/12/2010 22:35

Feeenie - people talk about things in the news - in RL and on the internet. Dh has come home today and said it was a major topic of conversation in his office. That's how it is.

Feenie · 23/12/2010 22:39

Hmm Let's hope none of his close relatives are MNers then, eh?

amijee · 23/12/2010 22:40

What I find a bit fishy is the time delay in reporting her missing.

Maybe people communicate very differently from me in relationships but her boyfriend had not heard from her ALL weekend and then when he got home it took him until midnight to realise there was something wrong. ( despite the cat not being fed all weekend)

I agree it is terrible to lose a loved one AND be a suspect but it just seems a bit odd that it took so long to realise she was actually missing.

Either that or a sad state of modern society that even if we are living with someone we are not really clocking on or off with them like you do living at home with your parents.

In this day and age of texts and emails on a mobile phone - how difficult is it to say a quick hi over a weekend when you are away from a loved one.

Definitely fishy

Feenie · 23/12/2010 22:40

You can discuss the case without accusing people who for all you know are totally innocent, it's perfectly possible.

nigglewiggle · 23/12/2010 22:42

There is a lot that doesn't add up. I tend to think that the pizza riddle will have a simple explanation and the most likely scenario will turn out to be the truth.

noddyholder · 23/12/2010 22:47

I do think the pizza may be a red herring She could have dropped it or left it at the till or anything.

singingcat · 23/12/2010 22:49

But she ONLY bought a pizza in Tesco, despite having been to Waitrose before. Surely you wouldn't forget to pick up the one thing you went in for. They must have CCTV of her carrying the pizza away from Tesco

amijee · 23/12/2010 22:52

I am interested in what her boyfriend's phone records reveal.

dietcokesholidaysarecoming · 23/12/2010 22:54

it may well be waitrose didn't have a pizza she liked.

Oblomov · 23/12/2010 22:56

Seems very odd. The whole tesco's pizza thing after shopping in waitrose, it very odd.
I only hope thta I am wrong. But relistically it does look bad, doesn't it.
I mena are we seriously expecting her to turn up, o.k. ? I fear not.

noddyholder · 23/12/2010 22:56

She may have been with someone in tesco hence the lack of cctv for there.the police may have it but don't want to distress who she may have been with.
