Quite honestly I couldn't give a flying fuck.

Just to put in my tuppence worth, I have had 4 children. Two were EBF, two were FF.

Would I have wanted to get my norks out in front of a shed load of photographers? No.

Political views, not relevant. Their baby their choice.

OP you need to wind your neck in.

Its none of your business.

Incidentally I have a photo of dd aged 12 weeks drinking what could be mistaken for banana milkshake with additional sunset yellow e numbers. It was actually ebm. Lighting, angle of the photo etc .......

battyburpthebarbaric · 10/10/2010 12:33

It COULD be that the child has medical condition and she NEEDS a special formula (like my DD1)

We don't know. And we have no right to know

Georgimama · 10/10/2010 12:37

Exactly.

This thread reminds of some posts on MN speculating a few years ago that there wasn't that much wrong with their eldest son......

Tortington · 10/10/2010 12:38

maybe samcam can't breastfeed

maybe samcan doesn't want to breastfeed.

maybe samcam had really bad PND, and she knew that if she had to deal with cracked painful nipples on top of a baby she secretly hated that florence would be chucked out of the window or smothered.

just projecting a little there, but this thread has seriously pissed me off

asouthwoldmummy · 10/10/2010 12:47

I never knew this massive BF/FF debate existed until i joined MN. I openly FF DS in public and no-one ever said a word, nice to know what some judgemental sorts thought of me though!

FWIW I couldn't care less if they admitted they were FF, I don't see that it's anything to be ashamed of!

expatinscotland · 10/10/2010 13:00

Imagine, a man feeding his own child in his home and even having a bit of a drink! At home! Shock

[rolls eyes]

thedollshouse · 10/10/2010 13:09

I'm not in the slightest bit interested in how Samantha Cameron chooses to feed her children.

It is not government policy that all children should be bf therefore it isn't any of our business whether the baby is bf or ff.

Perhaps like most mums she find ebf difficult and does a bit of both. Samantha Cameron is an educated woman (albeit a Tory)and I am sure she is aware of the health issues and made an informed choice.

imamissandamummy · 10/10/2010 13:29

foxytonin : im confused by your first comment
"ebm? sorry, if you knew how breastfeeding works, and what ebm looks like in a bottle then, no, you'd know better than pretend you know what was or wasn't in the bottle."

my ebm looked just like that... white and liquid, which quite frankly is what the milk in that bottle looks like.

was mine wierd? is it not supposed to look like that? lol and if someone else was feeding dc then thats what it looked like in a bottle instead of from me.

confused!

that baby could be being fed anything (ebm, sma, aptamil etc) and nobody but her parents need know what it is. people could guess for ever, but we'll never find out

foxytocin · 10/10/2010 13:54

wow! this thread has brought out the nutters today!

Yes it is important what little FloRo is fed. A mother's choice may be anything (for whatever sacrosanct reason, blah de blah blah) but a baby's choice is always breast.

If this society was more supportive of breastfeeding she'd (every woman, not just SamCam) have support for her possible PND, medications, mental trauma, physical workload or whatever reason) it could be that may not enable her to breastfeed.

But she lives and will continue to live in a country and society which does not value breastmilk and breast feeding despite the official and cultural protestations to the contrary.

Her husband would understand that posing with a baby and a bottle undermines breastfeeding in the culture even if it is filled with ebm and should not do so for a cheap and nasty political stunt.

And when they stop making political mileage out of their sweet, lovely, blessed, innocent daughter then I will stop shooting off my mouth about how they choose to be photographed.

This is possibly not the thread or the time to say so but as I am wearing an fireman's jacket and trousers today I will go on to say:

And it is just me but doesn't he look cack handed holding that baby and bottle?

southeastastra · 10/10/2010 13:56

calling posters 'nutters' is a bit off

Georgimama · 10/10/2010 13:56

She does BF. She has said so.

Expressing milk does not undermine BFing. For many mothers it enables it to continue when they are physically absent from their baby.

You are mad.

tethersend · 10/10/2010 13:59

Blimey, calm down. It's probably not even formula in the bottle.

It's probably sweet tea. Or coke. Or Baileys.

Brollyflower · 10/10/2010 14:21

I have nothing to add to her post of 11:51.

EdgarAllInPink · 10/10/2010 14:33

this is photo-Op fodder.

the purpose of this photo is to show DC as a loving Daddy. If that appalling SMA advert had bever been screened, this photo would never have happened either.

I dont give a flying toss how they feed their kid, but the fact he feels he needs to bottle feed a baby to get-over to the public says something about what the public wants to see - and it isn't Samcam BF the baby.

foxy is right about this -

"Her husband would understand that posing with a baby and a bottle undermines breastfeeding in the culture even if it is filled with ebm and should not do so for a cheap and nasty political stunt."

However i believe it was badly expressed (hahah) in the OP and subsequent posts.

That first piccie of him holding her as a newborn went down so well with the hoi polloi he is trying to replicate that success. That is all.

usualsuspect · 10/10/2010 14:34

I think your hysterical rants on bf are doing more harm than SamCam choice will ever do

Miasma · 10/10/2010 14:37

I agree with that ^

Summerbird73 · 10/10/2010 14:48

thank goodness - a positive image of FF for a change.

i could have done with that whilst i was feeding DS. instead of listening to all of the clap trap of the likes of OP and her crew.

well done SamCam - i applaud you Grin

MaMoTTaT · 10/10/2010 14:58

" n 2000 £35 million of the NHS budget went to chest and diarrhea infections, alone in children under the age of 1. "

wow - really - DS1 was one of these repeated chest infections - and that was before he was weaned onto any food at all and he was exclusively breastfed (wouldn't even taken EBM in a bottle).

I have fed expressed milk, "breast" fed and fed formula. (3 DS's_

I honestly couldn't look at that - even zoomed in 300% and tell you whether it was EBM or FF.

ScaryFucker · 10/10/2010 14:59

Gosh, I must have been a proper nutter the when I was physically unable to bf my babies.

And here was me beating myself up about it.

I should have just realised I was mentally ill, and gotten over myself.

you said it!!

Lollylola · 10/10/2010 15:03

I saw Mrs Cameron shopping for a steriliser in Boots a few weeks ago. What was slightly embarrassing was that it was a member of staff pointed out to me who it was that I had been talking to.. She was on her own with the 3 kids.

SoupDragon · 10/10/2010 15:04

FGS, who cares how she's fed?

That could well be EBM in the bottle. You have no idea. but anyway, it's none of your business.

All to the OP
