Ooh Plum Is your ankle ok?

Am excited now, you know we were saying about tvs? Well H got me the code I needed for my phone, and I am moving from orange to vodaphone (have no signal on orange at home)...and I went through carphone warehouse and got a free 32" tv There was a thread about it on here and I'm glad I saw it because going through the shop in town like I was going to I'd have been paying the same monthly charge and no tv!

So now I will have two tvs and one of them will be a decent size! Although I will only be using one because I am funny about tv in bedrooms

FreakoidOrganisoid · 12/07/2010 17:10

Anyone got any tips on getting ds to stop weeing in whatever receptacle is to hand?? Good he knows not to wee on the floor but he seems to think the toybox/cup/brick trolley/drawer are acceptable potty substitutes.

Freak - you're going to have to wean him off the potty and onto the toilet by the sounds of it.
Move potty nearer and nearer loo, big rewards for potty success, even bigger for loo success, etc. Good luck with that!

JKS that's what I don't understand, he won't wee on the potty! He uses the toilet...or any other container. But not the potty, oh no.

PlumBumMum · 12/07/2010 18:07

JKS that could be true as all 3 dcs were cocieved the month after we decided let see what happens, I really would like to shift some weight first as I have never been this weight unless 9 months pg, so I plan to excercise lots more from now until end of summer then TTC then!

Freak thats brill about TV, no idea about the wee situation though

Alice maybe not then

Think ankle is a little swollen have put a support sock on until I find dd1s gel

minimammoth · 12/07/2010 18:13

Don't you hate when you have something to do but in order to actually do it you have to do several other things first.
eg. find info for accountant means looking in deep litter filing system. means sifting out all the papers, before ing to box with papers in you have to tidy space in front of cupboard.

Oh to be organised. Heave sigh
List

FreakoidOrganisoid · 12/07/2010 18:45

Oh plum meant to say I don't get spotting at ov but I do feel slightly queasy for a few days...(and LOTS of discharge)

Mini yep I hate that too, means I put off those jobs and then there is usually even more stuff to shift before I get to them.

Understairs cupboard is becoming a bit of an area of doom...might have to tackle it

JustKeepSwimming · 12/07/2010 20:08

Mini - I know what you mean too, to get to the gas meter, i had to move tonnes of crap that needing sorting into rubbish/freecycle/shed/etc. Luckily no actual need to get to it in a hurry

Freak - right then, potty away entirely. sticker chart for rewards for toilet success, nothing for other containers (or be harsh and take a sticker off for other containers?). might work?

I was good and finished my shed bit before sitting down

My office becoming an area of Deep Down Dooom. So many piles of paper. can't see desk top. window ledges piled high. Envying your preps for beach JKS. Want a holiday.
feeling grumpy now - not doing list so there.
Good luck with weeing issue Freaki.

JustKeepSwimming · 12/07/2010 21:05

Mini - not sure you should be jealous, 2 reasons

  1. forecast is pissing it down...if it's raining the pre-sch will do a teddy bears picnic indoors, fun.

  2. DS1 has his buddy D at pre-sch so they'll both be running wild on the beach/indoors and i'll look all ineffectual parent, fun.

oh + a 3) i will have DS2 with me and he hasn't actually been to the beach since his op, he may hate it and scream the place down.....fun.

minimammoth · 12/07/2010 21:17

Ok. Envy monitor switched off
But I would like a nice peaceful walk on the beach, you know looking in rock pools, having a little paddle, watching the sun go down.....goes all whistful

Morning

Wasting DD went through a phase where it just stressed me out taking her out places. Think it was about 2 months after her 2nd birthday. She was ok at actual toddler group, but anywhere else we had huge tantrums and i just stopped taking her for a bit (probably the wrong thing to do) because i couldn't cope. It only lasted about 4-6weeks but seemed like forever.

I have realised that DD is eating more and more junk recently. Not eating her breakfast in the morning, then asking for a snack or lunch about 10ish. Which is fine if at home, but if we are at toddler groups there are biscuits so she ends up helping herself to too many biscuits, then not eating her lunch unless it is something she really likes. The surestart group is fine as it is always either toast or fruit. So, do i stop taking her to toddler groups and only offer her fruit/veg for snack or should i just carry on as toddler group is exercise and socialising and her own body weight in biscuits doesn't matter?

Mornings are such hard work atm

DONE
Get up
Get dressed
Make bed
Sort out clean washing on our bed
Breakfast

TO DO
Clear up breakfast
Put washload on
Make DD's bed
Toddler group?
Tidy DD's bedroom
Empty dishy
Quick tidy of the kitchen

That will do for now, back soon

wastingaway · 13/07/2010 09:10

Morning!

It's a nightmare really, he hasn't had enough socialisation really, which is why it ends up being stressful, but he isn't going to get it if we don't go.

I'd carry on with the biscuits. What do you give her for breakfast? DS is well bored of cereal, so he's having toast/fruit/yogurt/cheese/bicuits, whatever he fancies within reason and he seems to be happier.

Right I'm going to finish my coffee, then no more coffee today. I'll have tea though.

  • up, done

Alicetheinvisible · 13/07/2010 09:22

Is it possible that he is having a growth spurt/teething etc which makes him less happy than usual? This is why with DD i just gave the groups/days out a wide berth for a bit, then started again, all fine.

Decided against toddler group this morning. DD is happy playing with her toys (think she is in her bedroom atm) She has a choice for breakfast. She has asked for cheerios. So i have given her dry cheerios and raisins (she leaves it sat there so long, it goes horrid if it has milk in and she definitely won't eat it)

DONE
Get up
Get dressed
Make bed
Sort out clean washing on our bed
Breakfast
Clear up breakfast
Put yesterday's wash in the tumble
Put washload on
Empty dishy

TO DO
Make DD's bed
Tidy DD's bedroom
Quick tidy of the kitchen

wastingaway · 13/07/2010 09:29

Hmm, I think he was wound up yesterday as we'd been inside all morning, and I was already stressed.
The week before he was fine, still didn't join in with everyone though.

Ds hasn't had raisins for ages. They're on a high shelf. I'll have to get them down.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 13/07/2010 09:43

Morning!

I have 4 children this morning, aged 4.3(dd), 3.5, 2.7(ds) and 2.1-eek!

They arrived at 8.30 and actually so far it's been a breeze. All playing together nicely etc-I've managed to get all the washing up done, mop the kitchen floor, empty the bin and various other bits

Off to toddler group in a bit, think will restrain one of the boys in a buggy rather than trying to walk with all of them-not enough hands!

Back with a list this afternoon

JustKeepSwimming · 13/07/2010 09:46

I'd still go with the biscuits too

DS1 has only recently started having milk with his cereal, normally cheerios, but often a mixed cereal bowl

DS2 just has dry cheerios for now, he will occasionally allow a shreddie to pass his lips, lol.

Rain cancels beach trip - no parents needed for indoor play, yey

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 13/07/2010 11:06

Morning all. Have had a quick read through thread.

For breakfast when DS was younger I would give him all varieties of toast. He went through a long marmite phase. Then there was the dry cereal phase (cheerios or bran flakes). Now it's branflakes and 1 wheetabix with milk. I had to bribe him to start having milk on the cereal (by putting some sugar on top .

HAve lost list...back in a bit...

Alicetheinvisible · 13/07/2010 11:08

I have nothing against biscuits/cake etc. but she went through this phase before and started not eating meat unless it was sausage/burger, not eating vegetables at all. She is sneaky though as it happens very slowly and the only way to get her to eat meals again (with meat and veg) was to not give any snacks apart from fruit and to give equal portions of meat, veg, carbs. I had ended up giving her lager carb portions to fill her up which was counter productive.

Think i will copy that list out and try it for the next few weeks, could help getting the house sorted before baby comes. I like the fact that it suggests hoovering is only a weekly task - quite right!
