Morning all, touch of insomnia here again, got up at 4, and started cleaning!

My Utility room is no longer an area of doom!!!

I had a really lovely visit to my granny, we ate the picnic in the gardens of the fold, at the foot of the Mournes, beautiful, then I took her out for her lunch(she didn't want picnic) and the dcs for ice-cream, we just sat and watched everyone on the beach.
Then went back to her house made some tea & cake and then did her hair for her.
BUT she did tell me quite alot of things, that I know aren't true but she really believes they have happened
But she is being reffered for an MRI to see if there is something wrong with her Brain

SingleMumAndProud · 26/07/2010 08:52

Morning everybody!
Right my house is a MESS bigtime and I have family coming tomorrow morning and are staying the night! AND I have a hairdresser coming at 7.30pm so dont have the evening to do it and need at least downstairs done before the hairdresser comes and then upstairs also done by the time my sisters come tomorrow.

What I am hoping to do, is instead of doing one room at a time, which never works for me, I am going to go round the whole house, doing one THING at a time instead.
So...

  • Get a bin bag and go round the whole house searching for any rubbish and broken toys.
  • Go round with the washing basket finding any dirty washing. Put it straight in the washing machine
  • Go round and collect anything for the dishwasher and put it straight in.
  • Put washable nappies on to wash
  • Hang up nappies
  • Go round house finding any clean washing and put away or in a corner somewhere
  • Go round house with a big box to throw all toys in - then put in a space ready to put away another day!
  • Then do the same with a box for bits and bobs that need sorting - put this in wardrobe
  • Collect all shoes and put away
  • Recyling

Then hopefully the house is a lot more clear to do:

  • Hoover everywhere
  • Walk round with a duster
  • Set up beds for guests
  • Wipe sofas over
  • wipe sides
  • Clean kitchen
  • Change bedding

Am happy for some of this to run over till tomorrow morning but would like most of it done by today really. Right, off to do the dishwasher while DD2 is asleep as that is a right mess all over the kitchen! And then I will make a cup of tea and come back as I haven't had a cuppa this morning

JustKeepSwimming · 26/07/2010 09:06

Good luck SingleMum

Alice. I do hate 'em. Hates 'em precious. Nasty evil things.
Our cat ignores them as they are quite small, so don't really get her going, and she CBA in a cat sort of way.
Would consider name change except that would mean I am officially paranoid and sadly obsessed individual.

We need a new thread now!

Summer slatterns..... no idea, terribly uncreative

PlumBumMum · 26/07/2010 13:32

Singlemumandproud have you tried the crisi clean sit egg timer for 15 mins, do what you can in 15 mins in kitchen, then 15 mins living room etc

thread title hmmmmm........

Kim & Aggie beware the slatterns are decluttering those areas of DOOM

THe slatterns guide to List making, the road to happy houses (or something else)

SingleMumAndProud · 26/07/2010 14:23

Plumbummum - I do love the crisis cleaning, but I find it doesn't really work with the DC around as they are so little (1 and 2) so they need a lot of attention. I might give it a go though as my idea isn't working too well! lol.
