Hello!!!

[SC emerges from the gloom, shakes out a microfibre cloth and sniffs the air]

Have missed you lovely lot. Hope you are all OK.

It's bright sunshine here with (dare I say) a slight hint of spring in the air ...

Thank you so much for keeping us all on track throughout January MummyD - tis hugely appreciated - and for shiny new February thread.

I'll post the body clutter step for first week of February on the new thread later day.

Hope you are enjoying your weekends fellow flyers ...

TALLULAHBELLE · 31/01/2010 11:52

Babystep- done.
Home Blessing - to do.

Thanks Mummy for keeping us on track.

See you all in Feb. I leave on the 23rd so will be a busy month. Hopefully my cupboards, shelves & drawers will be clear in time

ln1981 · 31/01/2010 12:42

just wanted to say thank you dwm for being a truly great leader-all hail!! Am looking forward to february already.
managed to do the weekly blessing today Or my version at least! As well as some washing and a wee declutter upstairs. Hope to see you all tomorrow!!

missbennett · 31/01/2010 15:04

yes, thank you DWM for keeping things going. This thread is truly inspirational My house is much better. There's a long way to go but feeling more in control of things.

Successful party last night - enjoyed by all and no difficulties and little food left! Just a bit weary today as didn't get to bed til 1.30am

No matter, got up, morning routine done and both DDs made it to church with me. DD1 now 'doing homework'. Think this is code for chatting to friends on facebook about said party and viewing the photos they are all putting on. At least I get so see what went on! DD2 has gone to local church youth thing so I have got quiet afternoon Should be getting on with jobs - might manage to change sheets later and I've done some washing. And will catch up with Silent Witness later. The latest one is very traumatic so can't possibly count as fun!

mrsgok I am very of your lovely shelves.

MrsGokWantsatidyhouse · 31/01/2010 19:35

Thanks for posting the links Mummy . I really haven't started properly on my control journal and it is something I aim to sort for Fenruary.

Today didn't go exactly as planned. DC2&3 woke at 5am so got up and put them back to bed. Half an hour later had to do the same and again at 6am. In the end I gave up and let them play in their room. This had two affects a) I over slept and didn't get up till 9am and b) the littlies trashed their room

So we had breakfast and then took them up to tidy their room, which was a nightmare as they didn't want to do it and it took hours. So we missed church. DH and I started shifting stuff out of the pantry with the kids getting in the way, in the end I set them up with some things to do and we carried on. Then when I went to check on them they had pulled all the clothes out of their wardrobes aaaaarghhhh!!. So folded it all back again.

Then it was time to go to PIL's, so we had showers and got dressed and left the house with food all over the work surfaces and the dining room table. When we got back had a look at the cupboard and we are going to need another shelf unit. So will have to walk to the DIY store tomorrow after my appointment at the hospital so we can finally put all the food away.

SC we are having some lovely sushine as well and the bulbs are comeing through at the front of the house.

In1982 I second that, she is great at keeping us on track.

MissB I am the same, there is a long way to go but I am feeling more in control of things.

Glad the party was a sucess and there wasn't to much of a mess this morning. Yay! for getting to church.

And I lurve my bookshelves, we have them in every room of the house. They are floor to ceiling Ikea Billy's Though they do have the habit of becoming hotspots.

PositiveAttitude · 31/01/2010 20:21

Mrsgok - We also have three walls of ikea Billy's in our study . Ours don't become hotspots as the study is DHs domain and he considers a hotspot as one piece of post received that day!! He is a bit OCD about housework and "clutter". I have absolutely no idea how our marriage has survived so long. Probably a lot to do with him working away from home for most of our married life!

I am proud to say that me, DD2, DS & DD4 (DH was working) made it to church ON TIME!!! We always slide in the back a few minutes after it started normally, so half expected a standing ovation this morning!

Today I have managed to do:
washing x3 loads,
church
shopping at supermarket
Cooked shepherds pie (in slow cooker, Mrs D )
Cleaned kitchen
Spent way too long trying to get Wii on the internet - failed!
Swimming gala with DS. - He did well, but ended up throwing up in the toilets between races.

Right, see you all tomorrow like eager beavers on the February thread!

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 31/01/2010 22:11

Evening all!

Hope you have all had a nice weekend. Will try to catch up tomo. Been uber busy here/away and have a mad time for the next two months. Will be away lots of weekends, plus working in the week. Routines not done this weekend but been at someone elses house, so hope can be excused.

Just going to shove work trousers in the tumbler and finish sorting file for tomo before falling into bed. See you on february's thread.

missbennett · 31/01/2010 22:24

Evening!

Well, limited success but have:
-cooked tea - lovely 'thatched cottage pie' - a variation on shepherd's pie - mince (I used veggie) and onion cooked, plus can of beans. Topping was grated carrot and grated potato(parboiled first) and sprinkled with cheese. Yum. Well, I thought so and DD1 thought so. DD2 (who is veggie) has now decided that she doesn't like veggie mince so picked out the beans......and DH thought it was rather dry. It wasn't but equally wasn't swimming in sauce! Anyway, I recommend - made 6 portions at 4 points each if anyone is counting!
-cleared up kitchen and shined sink
-remembered to charge work mobile
-changed all the sheets I love clean sheets!
-completed sheet for parent's evening for DD2 - that will be a joy. Not
-chosen clothes for tomorrow! Got new boots!
-packed lunches made

So I'm not behind, even if I'm not ahead!

Mrsg we've got floor to ceiling shelves from Ikea - but Ivar not Billy! They are wonderful in terms of storage though definitely hot spots!

Right, off to bed soonish. Want to finish book. Is 'Hold Tight' by Harlem Coben. Always think he takes a bit of getting into but then very gripping!

droitwichmummy · 01/02/2010 06:29

Well done everyone and its great to see you all making it to the end of the month in one piece

Thanks for the kind words as well - see you on the February thread!
