droitwichmummy · 24/01/2010 09:13

OK - we've almost reached bursting point so its time for part 2!

Welcome everyone new and (not so) old

If you are new to us here is part 1 in case you need/want to see what we are about.

Evening all,

Out all day today (visit to college plus after school activities for DCs) so not much flying. Morning and evening routines just about done, about to go and order that slowcooker .

DH did quite a good tidy up of lounge last night, so have let myself off that today.

Not sure who asked about babysteps - I pick and choose a bit, like PA I refuse to adorn my house with post-it notes (whole point of this is to make it look tidier, after all!). I have also failed to make any sort of control journal and am unlikely to do so whilst still SAHM, but can really see that I would need it if working. I do missions if it suits and I have time.

Waves goodnight, whilst looking for credit card......

droitwichmummy · 26/01/2010 06:39

Good morning!

Here is today's babystep. I have NO IDEA of what she is talking about so I think we can ignore this one

Get that vacuum out for today's mission - it's detailed vacuuming of the lounge!

Thought I would post the pamper mission for the week as well. Looks like a good excuse to go shopping

Have a great day

BTW ladies - its the 26th January so we need to think about February.

Firstly, do we want to carry on
Secondly, does anyone want to take over posting the links
Thirdly (and most important in my view), any idea for a name?

OP posts:
feetheart · 26/01/2010 07:02

Didn't get back to post update last night as was trying to get to bed by 10.30pm. Made it by just after 11pm so not too bad.
Didn't manage to get very far through the rest of yesterday's list anyway so I think we will just gloss over it

Working this morning and its just DS and I this afternoon and games, Lego and playmobil have been promised - MUCH more fun so I am only planning limited Flying today:

Morning routine
School runs
Work - more 'learning how to do SAGE' though get to do it on my own as DH out all day
Banking
Few bits in town
PLAYING
Babystep
15 mins
5 mins
Mission
Afternoon/evening routines
Bed by 10.30pm

hwc - I tend to ignore the 'twee' days too though this is my 4th attempt at Flying . I also have never done the post-it thing but am trying to list things on here and have started using the 'Control Journal' this time and both seem to be working at the moment.
The 'home blessing/overhaul/blitz' isn't working yet either. I try to do downstairs one day and upstairs another but upstairs usually gets dropped off the list by the end of the week! Its not even a very big house

Re Bodyclutter tip - if you really want to scare yourself find out how much you have been eating you could try Food Focus Its a bit of a pain to start with but it really got me to think about what I eat - I am the Snacking Queen

Right need to start the day as DC have appeared - at least I don't have to prise them out of bed today

MrsGokWantsatidyhouse · 26/01/2010 07:35

Morning fellow fat fairy followers,

Was in bed for 11.30 last night, which is pretty damn good for me. Though I had a bad night so I am quite tired, so it will be a diet coke day.

Going to start a list ut I will probably add to it and take away stuff through out the day depending on how I feel.

Morning routine
Babysteps (though only get an email once a week and don't have one as yet.)
Mission (though can't see the floor so it will have to be the hall/dining room/kitchen)

MrsGokWantsatidyhouse · 26/01/2010 08:09

I'm am tired, did't mean to post that yet.

Morning routine
Babysteps (though only get an email once a week and don't have one as yet.)
Mission (though can't see the floor so it will have to be the hall/dining room/kitchen)
Clean the downstairs loo (so I can start DH on the s&s in there. Thought I would get him started with it clean so he would want to keep it that way.)
WM on done, hung up, folded and put away.
15 minutes Hotspot
15 minutes odd sock sorting
Start sorting the upstairs landing
Afternoon routine
Evening routine

mummy unfortunatly I don't feel confident enough at the moment to take over the link posting, sorry.

How about February's Fat Fairy Followers??

missbennett · 26/01/2010 08:19

Morning all!

Bit blurry this morning but am dressed, swished and swiped, packed lunch made for DD1 (last night ), packed lunch not made for me as bread mouldy

Not sure I will achieve the mission as swimming night tonight and by the time I get home I don't want to hoover! Will try and do it at the weekend. Funnily enough I was thinking it was about time I went under the settee.......

In answer to droitwichmummy's questions above:

  1. Yes please!
  2. Loathe to offer as have never posted a link in my life! But always willing to learn!
  3. No idea but will muse over the day - Fab February Flutterers - has just popped into my head but maybe a bit obvious!

Anyway, I'll look forward to hearing everybody else's thoughts as the day progresses!

pushmepullyou · 26/01/2010 09:38

Morning all

  1. Would definitely like a
  2. Happy to do it if we get stuck, but might be better coming from more of a morning person if any are willing!
  3. Like the alliteration missb, in a similar vein I also like Fab Feb Flyers which might be more understandable to any newbies wanting to join?

Busy day planned for me today!

Go to meeting
Find nursery forms and take to nursery
Return library books (and pay fine )
Home blessing
Dishwasher
Washing
Lots of paid work!

Got to dash, meeting to go to!

MrsGokWantsatidyhouse · 26/01/2010 10:33

Just having a quick break so thought I would post my progress

Morning routine done
Babysteps (though only get an email once a week and don't have one as yet.) done had a mail this morning, read it but can't see what she means.
Mission (though can't see the floor blush so it will have to be the hall/dining room/kitchen)
Clean the downstairs loo (so I can start DH on the s&s in there. Thought I would get him started with it clean so he would want to keep it that way.) done with 'help' from DC3
WM onx2 done, hung up done, folded and put away done.
15 minutes Hotspot
15 minutes odd sock sorting
Start sorting the upstairs landing
Afternoon routine
Evening routine

DC2 wet the bed last night so I have had to strip that and bung it in the wm. Where as it would have been a disaster in the past for the washing pile, now it was just a case of strip and bung in and wash.

Hope you all are having a good day.

ln1981 · 26/01/2010 11:06

Morning all. Quick on the abll today i am! Done washing, straightened up the bedrooms, washed and dried breakfast stuff, decluttered living room and put away all my laundry! Go me!!

pushmepullyou · 26/01/2010 11:24

Right, quick update/expand for my list!

Go to work meeting - done
Home blessing - was actually short hand for 'good god this house is a tip' so will break it down for ease. Kitchen first I think as it is easily the worst!

Kitchen list (aiming for 20 minutes)
unstack dishwasher
restack dishwasher
unload washing machine
reload washing machine
general tidy of surface
clean surfaces
shine sink
disinfect cat bowls
brush floor
mop floor

TALLULAHBELLE · 26/01/2010 12:46

Morning routine - done
S&S - done
Babystep - duly ignored
Mission - done but took twice as long due to the 2 year old hanging onto the hoover, 'helping'
Lunch - eating now
Dinner prep - done

To Do

Call doctor
Get washing on
Have coffee with friends

Mmmango · 26/01/2010 13:01

Chaos - great news about the schools, hope the rest of your week is this productive!

Still Counting - thanks for the poem last night, made me feel like I was participating in Burns night in a small way

Todays' babystep is great. Ignoring as we speak.

Wrt droitwich's questions:

  1. I bloody hope so, I've only just got started!
  2. I'm not scared of links, but not sure about taking on a 1 month commitment... if I take Feb 1- 6, would anyone else be willing to do the other weeks? Oh - also, I would be terrible at round ups.
  3. Sorry, no good at titles. Might be good to mention babysteps though, for any potential newbies?

Hi to MrsGok, pmpy, 1981 and everyone else!

Bodyclutter: water okay-ish, f+v terrible - 3? and writing food down - too scary.

Mmmango · 26/01/2010 13:15

Morning routine, 15 minutes decluttering, and polishing mirrors and doors from the weekly whatever all done. I need to have a think about the things on the list - e.g. we don't buy enough magazines to make it worth 'purging' every week, otoh all the bins get emptied almost every day. What I need is to make my own list of jobs I ought to be doing weekly.

pushmepullyou · 26/01/2010 13:20

Done! But it took me 40 minutes instead of 20 . Still not exactly sparkling but I am at least back at square 1 even if no further forwards!

Next tasks are

Fill in and send nursery application form
Take back library books
Pick up DD from parents

Mmmango · 26/01/2010 15:41

It's almost 10:30 here and I haven't started evening routine yet, but have had a go at making my own weekly blitz list, and even started pages for zone cleaning, not that I'm there yet (writing it down as substitute for doing it, maybe). Also made list already for tomorrow -

morning routine
make difficult phone call I've been procrastinating over
mop area outside kitchen that was too cluttered till this evening
go through couple of bags of stuff I brought home from work when I left (4 months ago )
declutter 15 mins - desk in living room
throw toys from floor onto new shelving unit (hooray! it's not big enough, but will help a bit)
bathe baby
put away clean washing
read book about CVs
babystep (hope it's more reading, haven't checked)
mission
evening routine

Am a bit daunted - will go and shine sink in readiness for tomorrow. Hope all your evenings go well

pushmepullyou · 26/01/2010 15:42

Right - next set! Hoping to complete before DD wakes up.

Strip chicken carcass and put on for stock.
Clear and clean kitchen table and work tops
Clean hob
Hoover kitchen stairs
Take out living room bin

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 26/01/2010 16:30

Anyone got a boot, cant get motivated at the mo, and moving is almost none existant.
mummy - yes please to a feb thread, sorry i'm too unreliable to take over links, erm..... no idea for thread title.

And the burning question for today is: If you were a watch or a pair of glasses where would you hide?

pushmepullyou · 26/01/2010 17:41

All done - except hob as I put stock on then realised that I couldn't clean hob whilst it was on - duh!

Also done - empty veg box in recyc, clean washing airing, dirty washing on, bed stripped

Still to do:

Make tea
Kitchen bins out
Clean out cat litter
Clean coffee table
Clear out of paperwork/magazine pile.
Restack dishwasher and put on
Put on dryer and next load of washing
Remake bed

pushmepullyou · 26/01/2010 17:42

BTW chaos I would almost certainly be inside/on/behind/under the sofa/dressing table/big tank of frogs!

StillCounting · 26/01/2010 18:57

Hello everyone

Quick post because not feeling very well (nothing serious) plus loads to do. Apologies if posting a bit erratically (timing-wise !!) over the next few days.

Will try and catch up later but in case I don't get to it, just wanted to respond to MummyD's post:

  1. Definitely
  1. Happy to do so if no-one else wants to What would YOU prefer Mummy?? Do you want to continue or would you prefer to be relieved of duty for a bit???
  1. Something along the lines of MrsGok's February's Fat Fairy Followers v. good - perhaps best to get the word "fledglings" in there too so we don't cause any confusion with other Fly thread.

Agree Feetheart Food Focus is excellent site.

WhereChaos try fridge, mantelpiece, handbag, any drawers in hall, surfaces in hall, surfaces in kitchen, surfaces in bathroom, car, down sides of sofa ....

See you later!

PositiveAttitude · 26/01/2010 19:16

Quick message due to totally manic household.

Mummy - Yes definitely, no thanks and whatever everyone else wants.

Been a long day at work today. Then home for a massive blitz in time for a meeting here tonight. Made a cake, because everyone always expects cake when they come to a meeting here!
Kitchen was all nice and sparkly and my bum had just about met a seat when DS had a violent nosebleed. Blood all over lounge floor, trail through hallway into kitchen and clots of blood now blocking the kitchen sink! Lovely . Then he passed out as he saw the amount of blood in the sink and smeared it all over kitchen floor. So much for my shiny kitchen! Anyway DS now feeling very fragile and any sort of movement starts things off again. Looks as if I am in for a long evening too!

Tomorrow I am off to the mainland for a shopping spree hospital appointment for DD4 (just annual check up for a birth defect thing, no problem). Can't wait! So won't be flying at all.

Have fun and apologies for lack of personal messages.

Now blood bath calling again, brought on by laughing at DH doing Wii fit!.......

droitwichmummy · 26/01/2010 19:25

Hello everyone.

Quick post while gathering energy to get DS to do his spellings for school tomorrow!

Looks like a definite for February. I am happy to carry on although some deputies would be great in case I have to go away for work (don't think this is planned for February but maybe in March!)
Thread title....mmm....maybe.....no......definitely not!....February's fledgling flyers, follow the fat fairy?

OP posts:
MiniMarmite · 26/01/2010 19:37

Evening All

DWM in response to your questions:

Firstly, do we want to carry on - yes please, most definitely!
Secondly, does anyone want to take over posting the links - Just seen your recent post. I'm happy to deputise this month and then try to take over in March (not able to log on in the mornings though but I think we've got around that before).
Thirdly (and most important in my view), any idea for a name? - erm, something like your suggestion with the addition of Fabulous at the front?

droitwichmummy · 26/01/2010 20:08
