droitwichmummy · 26/01/2010 21:42

OP posts:
TALLULAHBELLE · 26/01/2010 21:44

OK so
Call doctor - done
Get washing on - done still to hang up
Have coffee with friends - done & t'was lovely

So hang up washing, bedtime routine & in bed by 10pm. Lovely.

Now if someone would just have a word to DT1 about not waking up at 3am like the last 4 nights in a row ...

And in answer to DWM 's questions

Do we want to carry on - yes please, have just started
Does anyone want to take over posting the links - don't think I'm anywhere near reliable enough
Any idea for a name? - like the suggestion of February's Fabulous Fledgling Flyers. Says it all.

feetheart · 26/01/2010 22:25

dwm - x-posted with you this morning so didn't acknowledge you or your questions - sorry. My answers are:

  1. YES
  2. At a push if needed
  3. I'm happy to go along with the majority although for me its going to be 'Oh God my Mum's coming in 2 weeks'

PA - hope bleeding DS (take that which ever way you want ) has stopped leaking.

Today has been an OK one:
Morning routine - done
School runs - done
Work - more SAGE' - once I managed to get onto the bl**dy programme I got a bit done
Banking - done
Few bits in town - done
PLAYING - DS and I built a BIG marble run
Babystep - duly ignored
15 mins - inspired by MrsGok I tidied 2 bookshelves
5 mins - no
Mission - had just hoovered main part of living room when I saw mission and decided that would do!
Afternoon/evening routines - yes/not yet!
Bed by 10.30pm - maybe, if I get off computer and actually goo upstairs.

Night all

missbennett · 26/01/2010 23:04

Evening all!

wherechaos, did you find your glasses?

positiveattitude, hope DS is OK and bleeding has stopped now!

stillcounting, hope you're feeling a bit better

mrsgok, hope you have a better night tonight

wherechaos, don't be too dispirited - think the key to success is just keeping on plugging away and doing what you can, when you can

February's fabulous fledgling flyers is a great name! Thank you, drotiwichmummy.

Waves to all!
I have successfully ignored both the baby step and the mission! But I have:
-morning routine done
-been to work
-walked to a meeting instead of driving
-written questions for interviews tomorrow (this is really good planning ahead for me!!!)
-been to aquacise
-discussed GCSE options with DD1
-sink shined
-evening routine - almost - just got to go to bed now!

Night all!

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 27/01/2010 00:59

missbennett- unfortunately ds glasses are still hidden, the watch is still missing.

I made the mistake of end of eening email checking and discovered my next placement is about 2hr drive away in rush hour traffic. was a bit and a bit but had a shifty at the school website and it looks ok. Ofsted is better then for my last school but have come to realise that that tells me nothing about the school. Feeling a bit more positive. so catching some sleep before the early start. figured out i can have an extra hour and still get there so will lie in abit and get up at 5am.

Need to do some work this tomo/later ready for thursday but not going to get chance. hopefully can wing it during class at uni, and not to fall asleep.

droitwichmummy · 27/01/2010 06:54

Good morning everyone

I need today's babystep although I am getting better at this.

We've done (maybe) detailed vacuuming in the living room now its detailed dusting. Do it today or leave it until you have more time. I certainly need more than 5 minutes for this. The weekly mission is now on that link as well. Get your hammers out!

Thank you for your replies to my questions yesterday. The results are in ....

  1. we are continuing in February
  2. I will do the links and round ups (when I have time)
  3. We will be February's Fabulous Fledgling Flyers!

Everyone happy with that?

OP posts:
feetheart · 27/01/2010 07:11

Morning!

dwm - I'm happy and thanks for keeping us in order

Babystep is something I sort of do but could be much better at.
Hopefully will have more success with dusting than hoovering yesterday!
Need to do a LOT more decluttering before there is room for pictures in here - walls covered up by piles of books/CDs

Today I have lots of bits to do so here goes:
Morning routine
15 mins decluttering - living room
Mission
Room rescue - DS's room maybe
Transfer some photos onto USB stick for my Mum
Wrap and post parcel for my Mum
Wrap and post parcel for belated MN Christmas thingie (I wasn't matched with anyone before Christmas but have been now)
Contact and book people for Pamper Night
Do Newsletter for school Assoc
Do poster/flyer for Pamper Night
Do invites for Phoenix card party I'm having next Monday!!
Afternoon routine (just check DD's school bag at moment)
Evening routine
Bed at sensible time

That's going to keep me busy
Have a good day everyone

PositiveAttitude · 27/01/2010 07:18

Mummy - Thank you so much for carrying on. You do a fantastic job of keeping us all on track.

Chaos - Hope your glasses turn up soon. They will probably be somewhere really stupid, or somewhere you have already looked 10 times already. Hope the travelling goes ok.

Gentle waves to SC - Hope you are feeling ok and work calms down.

Blood update here! Had drippings on and off all evening. One hilarious sneeze with DS screaming "mum I don't want to sneeze....mum stop the sneee.....oh no here it comes......" Then an exploding son and blood all up the lounge wall, on the ceiling, covering the TV, mantlepiece, pictures, Wii, DVD player, DVDs........
If the police knocked on the door I am sure they would be looking for at least three murder victims! Today I need to make sure it has all gone properly, but I suspect it will be a little like pine needles....just as you think they are all gone they seem to breed under the sofa. Not too sure whether to go to the mainland today now. I will feel bad if he has a repeat at school and I can't get him. But DD4 also needs this appointment. Maybe I will warn my friend to be on standby.

Off to do the sandwich marathon.

HAve a good day.

MrsGokWantsatidyhouse · 27/01/2010 07:44

Morning ladies,

Won't be around much today as I had a really bad night last night and am not up to much this morning. So it will just be

Morning routine
Afternoon routine
Evening routine
Go to Breastfeeding Support Group.

Anything else will be a bonus.

Sorry just lost my post to everyone so I will just say hope every goes well for you all today.

Mmmango · 27/01/2010 07:52

chaos - my strategy for lost stuff is to ask dp. Hope you managed your 4 am start

pmpy - good going with the lists yesterday, you're a cleaning machine!

Positive - at ds's nosebleed, sounds very dramatic. Hope he's better today. are you on an island? i always wanted to live by the sea - it will happen one day.

droitwich - fabulous, thanks, and I'm happy to stand in - the time difference maybe makes it easier for me, I can post at about 1pm - 6am for you lot The offer's there if you want longer off, too.

feetheart - where does your name come from? I keep changing it in my head to lionheart, I don't know why.

List update:
morning routine done
make difficult phone call I've been procrastinating over done
mop area outside kitchen that was too cluttered till this evening done
go through couple of bags of stuff I brought home from work when I left (4 months ago blush) done

bathe baby - she's just waking up, can hear snuffling, so that's next
put away clean washing - not yet
read book about CVs - did half an hour, will aim for another half hour later
babystep (hope it's more reading, haven't checked) - hmmmm.... thinking about when to think about it
mission - will do later
evening routine - later

missbennett · 27/01/2010 08:36

Good morning!

Thank you dwm for keeping things going - I for one am finding I am on top (mostly) of the routine stuff - washing, basic cleaning etc - and beginning to either tackle or even believe I can tackle (progress, believe me!) the other stuff. Wasn't even managing the routine things before and always felt like chaos - so i really appreciate the support from here - it makes a huge difference.

Don't think I'll achieve the mission today as friend coming over (and I feel quite calm about this and looking forward to seeing her rather than stressing about the house -'tis good enough!)

But, so far:
-morning routine - done and dishes in sink to do in a minute
-swish and swipe - done
-DD1 to school with horn and lunch - done
-DD2 to school with lunch money and homework - about to happen and no shouting!

Going swimmingly so far. But is is only 8.28

Last night I did a hotspot - piano stool - and that was good!

Today's babystep - I do do this - plan week's worth of meals and then shop for them - just makes life easier - and cheaper But I have now added to my 'control journal' a list of 'meals we like' which I hope will help with planning - less to think about!

And just when I thought it was all OK - DD2 has only had pengion biscuit for breakfast Bad mummy! Have told her she must get up earlier tomorrow and the reply? 'Well, yeah, if YOU got me up in more time then I could have a proper breakfast, couldn't I?'

Hope everybody has a good day, with less bleeding, all lost items found, commutes smooth and a bit of rest for the weary.

tibni · 27/01/2010 10:40

Hello all,

I am still flapping away!

Today I am trying to get some of the jobs I put off sorted.

I have paperwork and timesheets to fill and
kids clothes to repair.

I am currently sorting ds wardrobe and moving the long sleeve tops to the lower rail. At the same time I am removing the clothes that are too small and I need to find out his next size up school trousers.

I have made pastry for chicken pie for dinner (from leftover roast dinner) and apples to make an applepie.

I am trying to get myself toned up again so I am spending much of my spare time at the gym so the house is suffering a bit. The small changes that I have made with the flying have stopped it really falling apart which is good.

Have a good day all

TALLULAHBELLE · 27/01/2010 12:38

Afternoon.

Babystep an easy one for me today. Love my tucker so am always thinking of lunch whilst having brekkie, dinner as soon as lunch cleared away. Is not organisation, is pure greed . Anyhow tonight's dinner (sausage casserole) is done so will just need to do the spuds & green beans tonight.

Mission for today -don't have many knick knacks so should manage this later.

Errand day today - bank, post office, library to report lost book, supermarket. Hope rain stays off.

MiniMarmite · 27/01/2010 12:57

Hello Ladies

On my list today

Panic Panic Panic

ok, things are a bit of a mess after we have all been ill and we have very particular guests coming for the weekend...

luckily I have the cleaners coming on Friday so that will get everything thoroughly clean...in the meantime I need to:

  • maintain a basic level of home hygiene
  • Tidy, tidy, tidy!
  • prepare meals in advance as far as possible
  • declutter the most embarrassing areas
  • make sure enough bedding, towels etc available for everyone

WCTR any sign of the glasses?
Tibni how are those nights going, any more settled now? And the job?
Tallulahbelle - welcome, I know you've been around for a wee while now but I don't think I said it when you arrived.
MissB have a good time with your friend
SC thanks for the healthy eating info. I am feeling inspired and have managed to lose 5 lb over the last 10 days
Pluto love your "what will really happen post" mainly because this is how my evenings tend to pan out!
Mmmango how is the little one now?

Hi to PMPY, Ellie, Feetheart, DWM, WTD, PA, OM and anyone else I have missed.

tibni · 27/01/2010 13:53

Hi MiniMarmite - the nights have settled down a lot thanks. Still up early but I can deal with that. Just had a letter from SEN transport and they are changing his taxi company, route, children he travels with after half term. This could throw the sleep again so fingers crossed.

I have completed my training for the social services position and have my CRB in place and i'm just waiting for the rota for Feb to be sent. I'm still working at school but as it is a casual contract it is as and when they need me.

ds wardrobe sorted and his bedroom is clean and tidy. Some of the paperwork is done - my timesheet is sent and I have hit a few hotspots in the kitchen.

I have a gift that needs delivering and I am going to pop to the gym later - must keep drinking water!

Neenook · 27/01/2010 14:09

Hooray!!

So glad that a) This thread is smaller so my aged laptop can cope with it, and b) That you are carrying on into Feb (thank you Mummy).

I was doing really well until the PIL visited for DS1's birthday and then I slipped a bit. However DH is working late tonight so hoping to catch up a bit, ready to carry on where I left off tomorrow morning.

Waves to everyone old and new

optimisticmumma · 27/01/2010 14:51

Hi everyone! Phew what a week so far!
Sorry I haven't been on but have had a couple of mini crises that took up most of my time. Firstly I had to help DH find his stuff for his tax return which then didn't work out properly so if anyone knows how to get the online assessment to acknowledge his SIPP I'd be grateful...It has to be done by 31st obviously!!!!
Secondly DS1 casually dropped into the conversation that he wanted to give up an AS level so that had to be talked through and unravelled. (he is giving it up - he's trying to do 5 which is too many in my opinion).

So, today:

home blessing done
Looked after poorly DNephewdone
Town for well earned coffee done
Washing in dryer
Unloaded DW
Phoned credit card company to get back money I paid them - twice-(computer screen froze!)

To do:
Supper
Watch a bit of the tennis
Catch up with 3 missions
Paperwork (nag please)
water
fruit
diary

Thank you DWM for carrying on next month. I love all the names and I think the thread is fab. I love the chat as well as the list posting!!

Better go and get on a bit I think....

Mmmango · 27/01/2010 15:02

tibni - good to see you, glad to see ds is doing better now

Mini-M - thanks for asking, she's great now. All better and at the gurgly 'conversation' stage - lots of fun. Dd1 doesn't seem to be able to shift the cough, though - is a small worry. Have you seen the crisis cleaning page? Don't panic!

List update:
morning routine done
make difficult phone call I've been procrastinating over done
mop area outside kitchen that was too cluttered till this evening done
go through couple of bags of stuff I brought home from work when I left (4 months ago blush) done
declutter 15 mins - desk in living room done
throw toys from floor onto new shelving unit (hooray! it's not big enough, but will help a bit) done
bathe baby done
put away clean washing done
read book about CVs - did half an hour, will aim for another half hour later. Or maybe not. 'Tis too American anyway, I'm not writing a headline fgs.
babystep (hope it's more reading, haven't checked) - have decided to leave food for this month, maybe in feb
mission done
evening routine - started, sink shiny, just need to get clothes out for tomorrow

So I nearly finished my list - close enough Feel good today, the living room is looking much better.

Mmmango · 27/01/2010 15:06

x-post, optimistic. You reminded me though -
water pretty good, f+v 3 again. Need to get some fruit in the house for breakfast, that always helps.

Pluto · 27/01/2010 18:19

done
went to work and survived
made shep's pie - never did do it last night - while consoling tired and crying baby and put him down for a sleep

to do
all the usual kitchen jobs
packed lunches
plan lessons for tomorrow
Ocado order
put a load in the w/m

Surf the net for a new d/w. It's not worth repairing. Any recommendations? We're prepared to go to the higher end of the range if we know it's going to be good. The current one is a Siemens (haven't really got on with it). We used to have a Bosch which was better. Anyone got a Miele?

droitwichmummy · 27/01/2010 20:05

Ours is a Hotpoint and is fine - the engineer who came to fix it from British Gas said it was Bosch inside just with a different badge on the front...

OP posts:
Neenook · 27/01/2010 20:19

There's been a thread about this on Money Saving Expert (I can't link, I'm sorry - don't know how). But, basically lots of names Indesit/Hotpoint etc have been bought out by the 'better/bigger names' such as Bosch. The insides have Bosch all over them but the front panel (as Mummy points out) has the 'cheaper' brands badge on it. Might be worth a bit of research?
