Are we all ok?

To help you recover from the journey the babystep today is a 'catch up' one

Today's mission requires a ladder

The Christmas mission is about decluttering

Off to put the kettle on. Back in a minute

OP posts:
StillCounting · 23/11/2009 19:29

x -posts Einstein

ouch - that sounds painful - how did you do it? Do you have a heat pad or somesuch?

MrsDinky · 23/11/2009 19:35

Evening everyone,

DWM hope your duvet day worked out well and DS feeling better

DEM hope your knee is better soon

PAO glad you are feeling better, doesn't take a lot to give me a raging hangover now, not like the old days

Annabel - hope you are enjoying your new loo seats. I watched one of those "sell your house" programmes today (whilst ironing!), the people trying to sell their house had no loo seat, no wonder they weren't getting very far. Does it really take a TV programme to tell them it would create a better impression to get one?

Waves at everyone else

Managed everything on the list today apart from Christmas shopping, which I have decided can be done online instead. However feeling a bit rough tonight (my cold came back, achey sinuses etc), so tomorrow might be a take it easy day. Tonight is definitely 10.30 to bed.

DidEinsteinsMum · 23/11/2009 19:46

Strangely got out of bed and it went pop. Have knee issues often so it is just one of those things but tiring when it is bad. ds negoiated no bath extra hour tv so i am off to steal the bath tub whilst hot and full. taking fun book for some me time

elliepac · 23/11/2009 19:48

Second attempt at posting as deleted first, idiot that I am.

Not done too bad today:-

Washing done
DW on done
General tidy done
S/S bathroom done
Hotspot in hallway
Pay some bills done
Survive work (Monday...bleugh)justabout

In addition have cooked a proper meal (sausage and bean casserole), ironed uniform, put clothes out for tomorrow and sorted book bag/bag for childminder.

PA Am glad you have come out the other side. Several years ago, after many painful experience, I made the executive decision that I would only go out on a Friday because of the necessary recovery period .

SC I never have a problem with 'me' time' I regularly choose it over chores and hence the reason while I will still be on this thread when you guys are all soaring in the sky . As for my master bedroom (I love calling it that a la flylady when in reality it is a small poky room that badly needs decorating and isn't big enough to swing a kitten, let alone a cat), if i were to list everything that was in there that shouldn't be the thread would run out of space....plus you would never see me in the same light .

DEM ouch knee sounds painful, go and put your feet up

Big waves to everyone else OM WTD PMPY tibni MrsDinky MM Annabel HAG and all the other people I know I have forgotten.

Can't remember if I said this earlier. I love this thread...tis my social life .

MiniMarmite · 23/11/2009 21:50

Sorry to hear about your knee DEM

Just a quick hello to everyone. I love this thread too and haven't been able to spend nearly enough time chatting over the last couple of weeks!

In the office again tomorrow but back on Wednesday.

DH did 4 loads of washing today

I am prioritising bedtime this week as I've just managed to have enough sleep to stop feeling exhausted and I'm trying to keep it that way!

droitwitchmum · 23/11/2009 22:30

Just popping my head round the door to make sure you are all in bed!

See you in the morning

OP posts:
pushmepullyou · 23/11/2009 22:34

Also just popping in to say it's only 10:33 and I am officially off to bed! see you all in the morning!

MrsDinky · 23/11/2009 22:43

Me too, night night.

dreamteamgirl · 23/11/2009 22:57

Just popping in to say I miss you all, and will be back soon, honestly!

Glad we are back in master bedoom- at least that room is undercontrol!!

Hope we are all ok

positiveattitudeonly · 23/11/2009 23:40

Night all. Rebelled against the bed time and had a deep and meaningful discussion on what colour paint to buy tomorrow for the wetroom. I can't believe there are so many shades of white/cream. I am too tired to even know what I have agreed to. I don't think I would care if it was black with yellow and purple stripes at the moment! I am hoping that I will see the decorator before my colour blind DH catches him and orders God knows what!

Off to bed with the plan of being first up in the morning to get organised.
Night all - I see everyone else is tucked up nicely and no-one was sharing wine tonight.

elliepac · 24/11/2009 06:27

Morning all,

No problem with an early night here. Fell asleep in the chair at 8.30pm.

List posting worked yesterday so here we go:

DW on done
Drier on done
Washing on done
15 min declutter in bedroom
Cook dinner
S/S bathroom
Survive boring meeting after work
Evening routine

Well done to those of you who managed an early night last night. Hope you are all feeling suitably perky this morning

DTG we miss you tooooooo.

MM well done to Mr Marmite

PA hope you get to the decorators before DH...I suspect you wold care if it was black ith yellow and purple stripes .

Have a fabulous day everyone.

droitwitchmum · 24/11/2009 06:51

Good morning everyone - how were the early nights?

Babystep today is the swish & swipe! If you do nothing except shine your sink atm add this. I do mine at random times of the day especially when DS is in the bath.

Today's mission is clearing the pile of clothes from your bedroom. Maybe its because of Thanksgiving (or maybe flylady has lost the plot) but she has tomorrow's mission as well as today's on the link, just scroll down and you will find the right one.

Christmas mission is geared to Thanksgiving so no need to worry about that.

Didn't really do my list yesterday but I did clear out all of my make up etc, entertained DS for ages. Thanks for your thoughts of DS, he was fine by 10am! I'm glad I kept him home though - his BF mum rang to say her DS has swine flu. Looks like my DS hasn't got it though.

Today:
breakfast now
empty WM done
DS up done
dress to slippers done
lunch

tonight
sort washing/iron
15 mins clearing old bills
DW on
10 mins read with DS
hotspot - dining table
s&s
shine sink
bed on time

See you later!

OP posts:
optimisticmumma · 24/11/2009 07:33

Morning all..
Tea, coffee, bacon sarnies here today!

Managed an early night until DH appeared at 11 and started doing a sudoku!

Morning routine started
2x15 mins in master bed (failed yesterday!)
Look at missions
Supper? piri piri chicken and couscous

Have 10 mins before school run then off to work. Have a great day all!

PA if it helps we had the same problem a few years ago and wanted cream, straight up! 'Gardenia' we were told by the nice man in Brewers - it saved an awful lot of time and is well cream!

walkthedinosaur · 24/11/2009 07:38

Well I did no flying in the end yesterday as was doing my paid work till 9.00 and then had to do my evening routine. I really tried to go to bed at 10.30, I was shattered, went up to bed, eyes wide open! Stuck the radio on sleep timer and I was stil awake when it turned off an hour later (maybe I should listen to a more boring radio station than Absolute). So it was after midnight in the end when I finally got to sleep and then dragged myself out of bed at 6.00 this morning.

No paid work yet so am going to try and do all the things I should have done yesterday before it gets here.

DEM sorry to hear about the knee sounds really painful.

ellie I know what you mean about this thread sometimes when I'm really busy I just pop and look to see if you're all still there - you're my virtual comfort blanket.

And DWM you are doing a sterling job thank you so much, I don't subscribe to the Flylady so you're the one keeping my house tidy, well done

And a big hello and good morning to everyone else.

tibni · 24/11/2009 09:04

Morning all.

Still on broken laptop - waiting to send it back.

Managed to get my early night and was up early.

Today
Mission - I have no piles of clothes around anymore! - flying must be working!

S/S bathroom, en-suite and cloakroom - done
beds - done
tidy downstairs - done
washing - done
polish downstairs - done
wipe down kitchen - done
dinner decided on

So I am going to walk puppy now and then off to the gym!

Have a good day all

Annabel1 · 24/11/2009 09:11

Morning!
DEM - sorry your knee's poorly. Had leg troubles last year and so empathise.
PA I second Gardenia. Saw it in friend's house, asked what it was and it's in our master bedroom (and will gradually spread through our house!). Dulux don't sell it ready mixed now, but you can have it made for you.
list later cos dd has friend coming soon and need to get ds to sleep. friend being dropped by mum, a first without dh in attendance. got ahead thanks to early rising ds

QueenofDreams · 24/11/2009 10:41

Morning ladies.
DEM - hope your knee is a bit better today
Couldn't update last night as DP had hijacked the laptop. But yesterday was a good day I went to bed with a clean living room, clean kitchen and a shiny sink And DP did the washing up last night. He's really pleased with the progress in the house.

So far this morning:
Dry clothes off radiator and folded
Washing out machine onto radiator.
Load of washing in machine

Today I have to start tackling the hotspots. I think I'm going to start with one today, then add another tomorrow. (tbh it feels like my whole house is one big hotspot )
So my list:
Nappy wash
Washing up
Re-sweep living room
clear & wipe dining table
Kitchen counters & cooker
shine sink.
Happy flying all!

Annabel1 · 24/11/2009 10:49

Right - dd and friend playing in earshot so list:

s and s done
mop floors downstairs done
load washing on done
ds sleep not done!!
lunch
declutter wardrobe bottom shelf
home base - anti slip rug back, 2 x dustbins

cast on knitting

glad ds better dwm I think schools should allow a quota of duvet days per year to be taken whether needed cos ill or not!
miss you too dtg, see you soon
om supper sounds lovely. Will be happy to help with leftovers!
finding that early bed leaves less mumsnet time! We still have hissing radio in ds room and it used to help me get to sleep when he was in with us - worth a try wtd ?
I am loving making bath and early (10.30) bed a prority - had cold sweat when I thought dh was about to announce his wish for a bath last night!
Off to sort out dispute - playing cinderella and no one wants to be the step sister. might have to step in!

pushmepullyou · 24/11/2009 11:12

Morning flyers

Hope you're knees feeling better DEM and Cinderella crisis was averted Annabel. Thanks for the bacon sarnie OM.

dreamteamgirl · 24/11/2009 11:25

Morning all

Didnt get to bed at 10.30 last night, cos I felt guilty and eneded up going upstairs and doing 2*15 mins in my bedroom

On the bright side, it means that my bedroom is now lovely . Again.

havingagiraffe · 24/11/2009 11:26

I'm back! After a ridiculously busy weekend I am knackered and house is an absolute mess. Also turned up 45mins late for a hair appt today so I know I need to get flying.

In the spirit of which I just can't catch up with the last few days, although I notice some new converts so hello and welcome. Also see that DWM has stepped up to lead again - thank you, I don't subscribe to e-mails so really you are my flylady (although with less cutesy language- thank goodness)

DW and WM currently whirring and DP changed our bedroom furniture around last night so had to hoover under bits - looks good though.

That's it for organising - need to get back to babysteps and control journal!

Baptism was marvellous and the copious amounts of swimming we do has paid off as DS hardly flinched when splashed with COLD water. Felt quite emotional when it was all happening - .

Will try and get back this evening for some wine to catch up with you all properly and be less me, me, me.

dreamteamgirl · 24/11/2009 11:32

StillCounting · 24/11/2009 11:48

Oh , I missed Optimistic's bacon sandwiches ...!!!

Apologies for not getting back on the thread yesterday evening - it was SO nice of everyone to "pop their heads around the door" to say a virtual "goodnight" ...

We had a bit of a problem in the house owing to the wind which caused a bit of damage to our roof, nothing too serious but was up there with mops and buckets for the early part of the evening and we've had yet more workmen in this morning to do some emergency carpentry.

First early night went sort of OK although had same problem as Optimistic. Just made it to bed at 10.20pm and surprisingly fell straight asleep but then was woken by Dh an hour or so later when he came to bed. He's a big bloke and doesn't understand the concept of tip-toeing about and being quiet!! It just doesn't cross his mind Then lay there wide awake until about 1.30/2am unable to get back to sleep .... listening to the loo in the bathroom (next door) hissing every 10 secs which drove me slightly mad ....up this morning usual time 6.50am .. feel perfectly fine, not tired, so the "one hour before midnight is worth two" saying must be true!! Will try again tonight.

Now, let's see, how did it go for everyone else?

Sounds like it is working well for you Annabel - those are very impressive lists you and Queenofdreams are posting

Hear, hear to this thread being a "virtual comfort blanket" WtD Hope you get a better night tonight

Congrats on clothes pile elimination tibni

Thanks for links Droitwich and glad all OK with ds.

Great to see you dreamteaam!!! PA sympathies re builders and paint etc. If in doubt, paint it taupe !!

DEM hope you are not still hobbling today

Waves to MM MrsD and anyone else I have missed. Anyone seen ShoppingVEggie or Fruitstick?

I am still decluttering home office today, catching up on some of the things I didn't get done last night (ironing!) + some on-line Christmas shopping.

walkthedinosaur · 24/11/2009 11:54
