Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I'll also post Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm, making the coffee and brewing tea.

Good luck!

Thanks DWM - I will jump in and promise myself that I will clean and tidy and make sandwiches in 10 minutes (in last months thread I said I was going to do the sandwiches whilst DC's ate tea .

So, SC can I say pedicure to you??? And there was something else too - can't remember, can you?

Looking forward to joining you all again - and having a clean and tidy house ready for the dekkie's!

optimisticmumma · 02/11/2009 22:13

Evening all... Just kicked DD off laptop (where she was facebooking friends - I mean, honestly-) to say no real flying done here today as I have been at work and then helped DS 1 put a new bed together only to find we need slats.Doh! My excuse is that I thought they were included (bl**y IKEA).
So, tomorrow it looks like I'm going back - oh joy!!
I really need that bottle glass of Pinot tonight!
Tomorrow I'll be on nice and early with a massive and I mean massive list!!
Thanks DWM for getting us organised in November. Big wave to everyone else on the thread.. especially new recruits and returners!!
See you all tomorrow.

droitwitchmum · 02/11/2009 22:15

Welcome Jumbs and Shoppingveggie

The swish & swipe is the sink & loo thing and I am currently using some ancient shower gel in my loo brush holder. It works brilliantly and smells good too

If you can't get to post lists (or just would prefer not to) the fat fairy does introduce a control journal which might work for you. I don't use one but I have my white board in the kitchen for me to write my jobs on so they are under my nose and I can wipe them off as I go.

Am in sympathy with OH DW blindness. Mine has just said 'I was going to do the DW' 2 mins after I had done it.

Off to bed - see you in the morning!

Good morning everyone! Coffee and tea are brewing. Feeling heaps better this morning. Maybe I was tired rather than coming down with something. I'm blaming stuffy hotel rooms, they often have that effect on me.
I hope none of you has been affected by the floods.
The babystep and the mission are not too onerous today
Today's babystep is consolidating what you have already started doing. The link is
here
Today's mission is here - get that vaccum out!
Christmas mission is here - really important last part - go out and play

Today's list:
dressed (not even got slippers on yet
breakfast
write cheque for DS dinner money
DS & DH up
empty DW done
make lunch
s&s

after work
ironing - I'm limiting myself to 30 mins which might be enough
vaccuum living room
15 mins declutter hall
put washing away
shine sink

Back later - have a good day!

Woah, busy thread yesterday .

PA welcome back...good luck with the builders.

sleepisnotoptional good luck with the lesson today...hope thye listen..it's a bugger when they don't

HAG well done on the door cleaning...have just remembered i pay my window cleaners to do mine so that's one mission done before i even lifted a cloth

shopping veggie babysteps, babysteps

Jumbs the DW could be full for days and my DH still wouldn't put it on....impressed if yours did (I use toilet cleaner/bleach down my toilet although may give shower gel a go)

OM pmsl at the belt loops...doesn't everyone have them Good luck with your massive list today

DWM Thanks for the coffee, this morning thing appears to be working, I just need to not be lazy

So, yesterday, car failed it's MOT and have now got to spend lots of moolah fixing it which is not good with (as WTD reminded me yesterday) one payday left till christmas.

This morning I need to:-

DW loaded/on done
Swish/Swipe bathroom/kitchen done
Sort DS dinner money done
Make beds doneours DC's still in bed
1 load in tumble drier done
Dc's clothes out and ready to go done
Load of washing in (am determined to get to the point where i haven't got a huge backlog SC washing is also my nemesis.
Put clean washing away

After work:-
Cook dinner
Mission
15 mins declutter hallway (coats/shoes/toys - for those of you that were here last month those bloody foam swords are still there )
Get DS swim shorts

Have a good day everyone

Sleepisnotoptional · 03/11/2009 07:07

Thanks for the coffee.

So far i have finished preping 2 lessons and now off to make fairy cakes.
Todays lesson with the chatty group is discipline. The rest will just have to be caught up another time. We'll see how much we get done with the other seating plan and layout.

Happy flying all.

optimisticmumma · 03/11/2009 07:38

Thanks for the tea DWM. I can't move first thing without it!!

Right, I said I need to write a massive list so here goes ( and no more mention of belt loops on pants from me)

Morning routine
Empty DW and reload
Take bedding for service wash - raining here
Rewash stuff on line if it doesn't brighten soon.
Go to IKEA to get wretched slats
Have a quick mooch round Homesense and Laura Ashley Outlet while I'm there!
Put away holiday clothes/bags
Hoover round downstairs
Do Porch cleaning
Look at Christmas Mission
Sort out bookshelves in the DC den (am going to pretend this is my dining room)
Phone calls
Detailed planning for tomorrow (teaching one day this week, other day was an inset )
Heating engineer to sort out boiler
Supper - think about later!

Just off to nag my 2 DSs and DH into getting a shift on or they'll miss the train. DD still on half term as her school is moving into a new building this week.
DH is the worst offender at getting up with nano seconds to spare and my new plan is to leave without him so that he gets up earlier!! We've been together for so long that I don't hold out much hope that he will ever change!

See you later all. Have great days...

havingagiraffe · 03/11/2009 09:29

Oooh I just can't get going today. Was awake really early but haven't got much more done than yesterday at 9:30. I'm blaming DS I guess I need some of DWM's coffee.

SINO Aah I love how teachers put such huge faith in a new seating plan. DP is the same, especially at this time of year. Good Luck, give 'em hell (in a positive behaviour management way of course -)

OM At least IKEA will not be so manic now that half term is over but still you have to be in the mood. Of course you may as well make the most of the trip with a bit of shopping at Laua Ashley and some meatballs and chips.

PA No advice with builders really, although keeping the clutter down means you can just dust quickly so I guess the normal flylady stuff will help.

Ellie Cars - poo

Hello to everyone else not mentioned.

I'm sure that today's mission has not updated. Didn't I do that last week, or should I say wasn't I supposed to that and didn't. Also if I start asking DP what he wants to eat at Christmas he will think I'm bonkers.

Think I will put my list on later when my brain is working as it really helped me yesterday.

optimisticmumma · 03/11/2009 09:34

Hi to HAG. Hope you get motivated. I am finding it so hard but it does help to post a list!

pushmepullyou · 03/11/2009 09:36

Morning all

Thanks for the birthday wishes and glad you all enjoyed the cake!

I had a lovely day thankyou with much food and wine and lots of lovely presents. I was feeling rather old until I went to M&S to buy a bottle of cava and the old bag lovely woman behind the counter refused to serve me because I didn't have any ID! I was , then then . Not too pleased by having to go home and ask DH to go to the shop for me though - although it did mean he paid for it so hooray for that!

Haven't managed to catch up with the thread yet and should really be spending the half hour that DD is likely to be asleep flying rather than mning. Am going away for the week tonight so need to get cracking, and packed!

Will be back later to catch up, but in the meantime hello to all fledgling flyers new and old

Shoppingveggie · 03/11/2009 09:38

Morning everyone

Although I know its babysteps for me - I really do need to do a mad panic clean as we will be having guests staying soon - not sure of exact dates - DH arranged, say no more .

So, I have two days at home before work on Thursday, so my plan for today is:

Sort out laundry/ironing - our spare room is full of ironing and clothes on airer

Put things for loft on landing (again, things for loft are in spare room)

Get spare room in an orderly state ready for cleaning

Empty DW
Re-load DW
Put white wash on

That's my list until lunchtime - off I go.

Shoppingveggie · 03/11/2009 09:40

Just read my message - that should easily be done by lunchtime - so revising my target, going to get it done in the hour - rushes off

elliepac · 03/11/2009 09:49

PMPY I remember getting asked for ID in ASAD a couple of months ago. I tried to explain I was 32 but she wouldn't have it and said she had to ask if she thought there was a chance someone was under 25. I told her she had made my day, put the wine down and went to the corner shop feeling very smug

Pluto · 03/11/2009 10:28

OMG OM that is the list to beat all lists!

PMPY elliepac I was "done" in M&S too. Asked for ID to show I was over 25. I am 40 in March She served me anyway

So, here is my list

d/w on done
beds made done
dressed to shoes done
DS2 packed off to childminder done
Go for a stagger round the park run done

To do

ironing
unload d/w
make casserole
load w/m
today's task from the fairy - I haven't checked yet but I expect it's more decluttering for me.

Shoppingveggie · 03/11/2009 11:01

Taken bit more than an hour as had chat on phone for 20 mins (they rang me - honest ).

Sort out laundry/ironing - our spare room is full of ironing and clothes on airer done

Put things for loft on landing (again, things for loft are in spare room)done

Get spare room in an orderly state ready for cleaning done

Empty DW done
Re-load DW done
Put white wash on done

Having a nice cuppa now - and in 15 minutes my next lot of tasks are:

Clear hall
Tidy kitchen
Clear Dining Room Table
Tidy Playroom
Tidy Living room

My theory is, if I can get the house tidy(ish) today, I can clean properly tomorrow (or am I just putting it off ).

havingagiraffe · 03/11/2009 11:09

Pluto You have been for a run!! Shine your halo, that really is most impressive.

PMPY I too should be flying rather than mn'ing while DS asleep. As may only have half an hour.

So in order to get moving a list

Make Bed done
S & S done
Washing in done
DW on done
Clean kitchen done
5 min room rescue
De-clutter coat rack
Ironing (still not started)
Empty DW
Put washing on airer
Dust dining room
Clean dining room floor

positiveattitudeonly · 03/11/2009 11:52

OOohhhhh! I want to be asked for id. Not much chance with all my wrinkles. Next time I will be asked will be to prove I am under 65, probably!

MrsDinky · 03/11/2009 15:11

Hello again,
Only just managed to get to computer, been out all day, hence having a mammoth list yesterday, most of which got done.

Today still need to
empty DW
do washing
put away DDs clean washing from yesterday
do some shredding of old letters etc
file some other stuff (as per today's task, it's on dining room floor as haven't got a table in there)
Tidy upstairs in order to hoover tomorrow

walkthedinosaur · 03/11/2009 16:07

Hello everybody, just managed to get here, some of the lists on here are impressive, I have long lists but don't really get things done.

Ellipac sorry to hear about the car, I had a car like that until recently, broke down constantly.

Shoppingveggie that's massively busy day, hope you broke the back of it.

And all of you who've been ID'd in the supermarket you're just showing off now, people have never thought I was under 25 even when I was under 25.

Today I have:-

Made beds
swished and swiped
DW unloaded and reloaded
One load of washing in machine then on airer
Hallway, dining room and kitchen floors swept and mopped.
Piano and accompanying ornaments dusted and polished.
Bookshelf in hallway polished and decluttered
Guinea pigs cleaned out
Moussaka made and in the oven cooking for the DC's dinner
Put butter beans in to soak to make soup for tomorrow
My proper paid job

To do:-
Afternoon/evening routine

Clean up after dinner
DC's bath and early night (they're back to school tomorrow - yay)
Pack school bags and make sure all reports/work etc have been signed
Double check the work I did this afternoon with no DC's to distract me
Ironing and put away

Everything is ticking along nicely at the moment but I really need to work out how I can incorporate an hour of study every day and I'd love to build some exercise into my daily routine too (running/cycling). Running needs to be done during school hours because DH works away. Don't know how it can be done but I'm starting to feel like a lard arse and my boss is going to get pretty peeved with me if I don't make any headway into this course she's paid for. At the moment with work, DC's and flying I'm not really sitting down till 10.00 every night.

Right I'm off to light the fire as it's getting a bit chilly here now.

optimisticmumma · 03/11/2009 16:09

LoL at PAO. i usually get asked if I have a bus pass (only joking ). Please let us not talk of age as mine is sure to be the highest so I win!

My list is going great guns.

Take bedding for service wash - raining hereDone
Rewash stuff on line if it doesn't brighten soon.done and drying at the launderette!
Go to IKEA to get wretched slatsJust goingdone

Heating engineer to sort out boiler8done*
Supper - think about latersausages

See you all for lots of wine later

optimisticmumma · 03/11/2009 16:12

x posts WTD. so sorry to read about your dog. A fire sounds wonderful and you've reminded me to order some logs...

Sleepisnotoptional · 03/11/2009 16:21

fairy cakes made and started to be eaten by ds.
Year 8 slightly more tamed. its amazing how splitting up the 4 cheif troublemakers/ disrupters (who were sat next to each other) makes such a difference to the class. One more tweak to seating plan. But requested by pupil and agreed with supervisor.

Now all i have to do is sort my pace out with the lesson as that seems to be my main weakness are now.

Plan for tonight PP assignment
Y7 lesson plan
Y8 lesson plan
play with ds
fish out smaller but fitting trousers
Bed early

COngrats to all for getting so much done.
Ds free this weekend so hoping to do another big hit and get things more maintainable

Shoppingveggie · 03/11/2009 16:36

WTD it would have been a busy day - had I done it all - got invited for coffee this afternoon - and went !

So, my list is this:

Clear hall done
Tidy kitchen
Clear Dining Room Table
Tidy Playroom
Tidy Living room

So, now need to add:

Cook tea (lasange - got meat all done as separated when cooking moosaka for DH yesterday)

Sandwiches for tomorrow - determined not to leave this till later.

So - going to get on with it now - you all seem to have very productive days, well done.

elliepac · 03/11/2009 16:53

Evening one and all, just checking in to remind myself what i said i had to do today:-

DW loaded/on done
Swish/Swipe bathroom/kitchen done
Sort DS dinner money done
Make beds done
1 load in tumble drier done
Dc's clothes out and ready to go done
Load of washing in (am determined to get to the point where i haven't got a huge backlog SC washing is also my nemesis.done
Put clean washing away done

After work:-
Cook dinner
Mission done (well swept anyway, it's laminate and don't have hoover that works*
15 mins declutter hallway (coats/shoes/toys - for those of you that were here last month those bloody foam swords are still there )
Get DS swim shorts

Added on from this morning
Evening routine (must get back in the habit of that)
Mark exam papers

sleepisnotoptional glad you tamed your yr 8's. Seating plans work when you get to know the pupils and know who to keep apart. For your pace, think of lots of short sharp activities and break lesson up with mini-plenaries (although am sure you have been told all this already so feel free to tell me to get lost )

OM will be definitely be joining you for wine later.

shoppingveggie coffee with friends is far more preferable/good for the soul than cleaning no matter what the fat fairy might say. You made the right choice

WTD having cars sucks at times doesn't it.

Anyway am off to pick DC's up and do stuff...back later.

positiveattitudeonly · 03/11/2009 17:13

Evening all. I can't believe all your massive lists. You put me all to shame.

I left the builders here this morning after they started banging and dismantling walls/shower/sink/toilet etc. I went to work with a huge sigh of relief to go for some peace and quiet. I could not believe my eyes when I walked into my office building. In my two week absence they had decided to start the promised (5 years of promising) new office building! I then spent 5 hours trying to work through dismantling of walls/toilets etc! My head is buzzing. Returned home for more of the same. Nowhere to go for sanity!

I can't even think straight and housework is becoming a dirty word. I will do my best, but at this rate I think I will be joining the babystep thread next April!
I will keep trying, but my list is going to be: clean builders dust from every crevice imaginable, then repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. I hope this is going to be worht it all!

Is it too early for the bottle glass of wine??
Oh to top it all electricity has gone off, so no lights, tv, music, cooker (gas hob, so that's ok)
If I go to sleep maybe I will wake up and realise this is not really happening. or wake up and it will all be done.

Swipe left for the next trending thread
