Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I'll also post Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm, making the coffee and brewing tea.

Good luck!

Good morning all! Went to bed at 8 last as soooo tired so no flying or posting last night.
[passes Alka Selza to PMPY] Coffee/tea brewing and a stack of buttered toast is ready
Pluto well done on your list.
PAO hope the boats were running and your crossing was not too rough
DTG get yourself some rest while DS is with his dad
OM thanks for opening the wine last night - quick chorus of Good King Wenceslas everybody
DEM big list. Break it into time slots if you can - might make it easier
Annabel great start. I didn't get to make DS birthday cake yesterday so I'll be baking today
SC its bathroom & one other room next week so I guess we'll both be on our offices/spare rooms. Mine still looks like a junk room. MIL comes tomorrow so I need to send her away with about 4 bags of jumble which will help
ellie I'm glad the rown with DH has passed on. Give him a list of jobs to help you out
MrsD orange walls/blue carpet - very retro and thus fashionable
MM I've done NO Christmas shopping either
Hello to wtd and hag and anyone else I missed.
Lovely dry and windy day here today . Hope its the same where you are - just need to get sheets washed and out there.

Babystep is a sit down with a coffee and type one.

No mission of ordinary or Christmas variety today so I'm doing Home Blessing Hour especially as I've got a houseful coming tomorrow so my list is
breakfast
dressed
take DS swimming
make chocolate cake
vacuum
dust
mirrors/doors
purge magazines
change sheets
empty bins
swish & swipe
decorate cake
shine sink

see you all later - have a good day

hellsbelles · 14/11/2009 12:49

morning all,

Still flying here just crap at reading through all the latest pages (gosh you lot type fast!).

Did a big declutter in the kitchen today but feeling rather ill so have stopped now. But washing is on, sink is shined and house generally o.k....will start on missions when not ill!

Hope the weather is better wherever you are...I suspect I will spend much of today unblocking the drain as it's torrential here in London

tibni · 14/11/2009 13:34

Hi all,

As anticipated work was very full on Thursday and Friday and I ended up crashed out before 9pm last night. I did manage to do some batch cooking first .

We have our first puppy training class today; Alfie is very sociable and is bound to be distracted by all the new friends. .

Took my dd to her awimming lesson this morning and she has gone up to stage 10 - she is very pleased.

So - before training I am going to get some housework done.

Target
Clean cloakroom
Tidy dining room
Wipe kitchen

See you all later

elliepac · 14/11/2009 13:40

Afternoon,

well so far mammoth list is moving along nicely:-

DW loaded done (too many pots just for dishwasher had to wash up as well )
Washing x lots started
Tidy kitchen (would be good if could actually see surfaces )done
Tidy dining room done
Tidy living room done
Tidy hallway sort of
change beds
S/S bathroom
Tidy bedrooms
Meet mum for coffee done
Tesco
Skip Trips done
MIssions possibly

To be fair, DH has done a big chunk of this. When I got back from coffee with mum and Tesco (he was in bed when I left) he had made a start on tidying and had already done dining room and living room. He actually said " I know we've had a crappy week so though I would help you out," and then (this is the shocking yet pleasing bit), " you've been making so much effort with the house recently." . Thought he'd been oblivious...therefore I must be making a difference

hells hope you are feeling better soon..it's not too bad up here in the north...windy but not rainy. Good luck with the drain unblocking.

SC what are you doing this weekend...something to do with your office?

FatFairy DWM got my timer out just for you .

Big waves to everyone, hope you're all having a good weekend and not getting too battered by the storms.

DidEinsteinsMum · 14/11/2009 14:41

just a quick check in so far have:

shopping done

lesson plans y7
topic covers y7
key words y8 done
key words y7

Laundry (this weeks) - wash, dry, fold, iron, away. (But tbh if its clean its all that matters.
Play with ds.
Ds' room tidy.
Cake made.

havingagiraffe · 14/11/2009 15:16

Oh Ellie your DH noticed, this has nearly bought tears to my eyes.

I should not be here as my house looks a tip. I know that thanks to the fat fairy it is just surface clutter that needs tidying but I am procrastinating anyway.

I literally have no excuse as DS is happily playing in the other room and sooner or later he will need a nap which will involve some buggy pushing so I really should get on.

However, there is a Spag Bol (Not for WTD or her son) in the oven which is purely for freezer which I think is rather domestic goddess of me.

StillCounting · 14/11/2009 18:01

Oh Ellie - that is FABBBBB!!!!!

elliepac · 14/11/2009 20:17

So, mammoth list, not done badly:-

Tidy living room done
Tidy hallway done
change beds dotomorrow
S/S bathroom done
Tidy bedrooms doneDC's
Meet mum for coffee done
Tesco done
Skip Trips done
MIssions possibly - not sure about this one because I didn't even have a look at them most days this week - if there was one about wiping cupboards, have done that, if there was one about wiping under everything on worktops, have done that.

Am pooped now though . Am going to watch x-factor and eat chocolate pudding and custard

HAG - getting DH to notice ie. doing this much housework, has nearly brought a tear to my eye as well but in a whole different way .

SC - tis fab isn't it - about blardy time though...i've been going for nearly 3 months ignorant git

droitwitchmum · 14/11/2009 21:50

Wine cork popping in the DW household. DH has brought his beer fridge (yes really) in from the garage and it is now sitting on ff BUT as I had cleared the pantry a few weeks ago all the stuff that was in the way has been moved into said pantry and it's still tidy

Well done for getting back into things ellie. There were missions about wiping cupboard doors and worktops. There was a really scary weekly mission about degreasing the cooker hood. Didn't do mine - far too scary for me. Enjoy your chocolate pudding - I'm scraping the mixing bowl

List gone pretty well. Had some help from DH
breakfast done
dressed done
take DS swimming done
make chocolate cake done but its a maderia (DS changed his mind)
vacuum only dining room and kitchen left
dust likewise
mirrors/doors and again
purge magazines done
change sheets done and washed
empty bins done
swish & swipe done
decorate cake done
shine sink can't see it!

Apart from sink I'll finish off in the morning before we go to the party.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Night all you sleeping ladies.

droitwitchmum · 15/11/2009 06:49

Good morning everyone! Coffee and croissants ready, tea just brewing.
DEM you did loads yesterday. Hope you got some sleep
Just need to dust downstairs, clear kitchen/wipe down surfaces and vac dining room and kitchen whilst trying to get washing dry and all before we go off to the party at 11. Then back home (with DNeice and DNephew in tow) to do food for family coming over this afternoon. Then tidy up once they're all gone.
Thankfully I now do today's babystep already and sonetimes DH does it without being asked.
Flylady says it is 'renew your spirit' day and also suggests a 5 minute room rescue and finding yor library books - I know where mine are and my room rescue will be after our visitors have gone.

Enjoy your Sunday!

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 15/11/2009 09:13

thanks droitwich - I needed that coffee

Still ill but somehow more bearable as house is in pretty good shape thanks to flylady. just keeping it decent with minimal things and will get proper work done when better.

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/11/2009 09:25

COffee sounds lovely DWM! Sleep about 3hours worth. Have a lovely day.

Hells - hope you feel better soon.

Already been flying here and today's list is the bits from yesterday that didnt get done and anything else that i remember needs doing whilst procrastinating from the paperwork. Ignoring fat fairy on monday and it will be a rest day!

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/11/2009 09:26

opps meant to add

Have a lovely day everyone.

elliepac · 15/11/2009 10:52

Morning all, thanks for the coffee DWM

Today's list looks like this:-

Washing on started
Cook Sunday Roast chickeninvegprepped
General Tidy downstairs done
Put clean washing away
Tidy our bedroom (not yet, DH still in bed, poor love must have worn himself out yesterday )
spend some family time

Have a good day everyone.

MrsDinky · 15/11/2009 12:50

Morning I mean Afternoon everyone,

It's a lovely day here (Hampshire), thought it was supposed to be foul and stormy all weekend.

I'm taking it a bit easier this weekend as

  1. Got a stinking cold
  2. Feel a bit more on top of things now although don't want to get complacent.

Some of you have had very impressive lists the last couple of days.

Just had a look at babystep, it is quite spooky, I only announced yesterday to the kids that we were having a new house rule that everyone makes their bed every day from now on.

Todays list for me is short
Clean bathroom - done
Go to Sainsburys
Take kids swimming
Washing, DW, just the usual daily stuff really

See you later

havingagiraffe · 15/11/2009 15:01

Good afternoon, a quick Sunday post for me in an attempt to start thinking about flying before Monday morning (note: thinking not doing!)

We have finished de-cluttering attic room today and have a pile for a car boot sale. Do you think we should wait until Spring to do or am I just looking for an excuse? Really pleased we did in 'fly lady' chunks as seemed a much less daunting job, even DP agreed

He has whisked DS off for the afternoon so am about to put on a film, toast some crumpets and make a cuppa - bliss.

Mrs Dinky Hope you feel better soon and isn't it lovely to know you can take it east without chaos breaking out in the house.

DEM Hope you are taking it a bit easy today as well as having tomorrow off - posting at 3:20am, that is not a good sign. I feel your pain. Any chance you will get a nap today or will it just be off to bed when DS goes? (One of my favourite sleep tactics)

Waves to everyone else - is it bathroom week next week?

walkthedinosaur · 15/11/2009 17:30

Hello all, hope you've all had a great weekend, as usual crazy busy here, always seems to be even crazier when DH is home. Not much done in the way of flying as I've spent all weekend working, but kitchen and dining room have now been cleaned and back to normal so that always gives me a feeling of satisfaction.

DH did really well with his list:-

He sorted out Sky box.
Plastered understairs cupboard and around living room door.
Tried to fit my car stereo, but thinks when thieves stole the old one they did something to the wiring because he can't get it to work.
Started fitting the tiles but when he'd got stuck into it went to cut the first tile and realised that the slates I'd chosen were to big for the tile cutter, so I have a half laid hall floorway.

For me tonight:-

DC's bathed and are about to have hot chocolate and get off to bed
I'll do an hour studying
Then my bath
Ironing, chocolate, wine and telly

See you all tomorrow.

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/11/2009 19:44

no rest for the wicked the saying goes. I must have done something truely terrible
Nope no chance for a rest or early night tonight.

Here's the list so far

Lesson plans for y8 remaining 8 of 11
lesson plans y7 done 6 of 6 Advance planning now needed.
key words y7
Risk assesments y8 - doing tomo.
Any other stupid bit of paper that i have forgotten. (evaluations, context analysis etc)
Laundry done 12 loads - washed, dried, folded, ironed, and away.
Play with ds. done
Cake made .

Also spent half an hour clearing out office (was looking for something)
And re-discovered the bathroom sink after ds helped me by cleaning it with toothpaste.

If you see me on here after midnight -kick my ass!

droitwitchmum · 16/11/2009 06:37

Are you ready everyone - its time for part 2 over here

OP posts:
Annabel1 · 16/11/2009 09:05

Hello there,
Have been AWOL as put posting on mumsnet on bottom of list rather than top where it should be!
My target for today is to stop seeing what I have done as trivial against what needs to be done! Realised that as my little internal voice started saying 'it's not an impressive list, I just wrote down what I'd done and you should see the state of things.... blah, blah, blah!!!'
Enough psychobabble
Today:
up dressed etc
breakfast
painted with dd
did loo
to do:
make bed when ds wakes up (up in night - he doesn't naturally sleep til nine!
shopping centre (gulp!)
persuade dd not to see Father Christmas in early November at said shopping centre!
buy dd Xmas gift and knitting wool (to add to pile - but optimistic cos it'll be very chunky wool!)
load of washing on

make sandwiches to take to shopping centre to avoid "cafe" (our name for the golden arches!!
process washing
hoover
put away in loft clothes that ds has grown out of (no 3rd in prospect but can't let go just yet!)

By the way, dh has really come on board with all this. Had ridiculous moment over weekend where he had read instructions for shiny sink and done it and i had a slightly weepy thing where I said I was worried that not only was he able to hold down a job and be jolly with the children but he also was better at doing jobs and what was I good at!!!! Hmm, now very grateful for help and realise must not be all on my terms

optimistic lol at laundry on line. my record was two weeks. It dries, I forget, it gets wet etc!
pluto at least you are able to look at the ironing! with or without sighing
Right, dd calling - wants to make slide for her cake case people - don't ask but it's cleaner than paint!
