Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I'll also post Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm, making the coffee and brewing tea.

Good luck!

x posts Mini-M - have a lovely day tomorrow with ds and evening out tomorrow with your dh!

havingagiraffe · 10/11/2009 19:45

I have a confession to make....

....put washing on today and DS's sleeping bag which had gotten some milk on it had been in the washing basket so long it had MOULD on it!! Oh god the shame

Nuff said really, I'm going to bed.

positiveattitudeonly · 10/11/2009 20:31

Evening all.

Big waves to everone.

Welcome back to all you returnees!

MM - Have a lovely day tomorrow.
DWM - Hope you have had a good day with DS. Happy Birthday to him.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes for DD2.
HA - No driving lessons at the moment. When our eldest was 17 there was no way we could have afforded it, so she had to wait til she was 18, then we paid for them for her, so we need to be fair and treat them the same. Although DD2 is not that bothered, so works out ok. Now DD1 is 18, working and able to save for a car, so the timing has worked out better all round for her. Hopefully it will too for the others.
Tibni - Sympathies for the MIL situation. Sounds just like mine - they have a knack of doing ANYTHING to put me down and cause problems!

Chocolate cake was really yummy!

Odd day at work. -Job no 1 no internet, so a frustrating time of not being able to do mumsnetting what I needed to get done. I think the builders at work have done something to the wires, so not sure if it will be mended tomorrow. SO went off to job no 2 (don't normally do 2 places in one day) and the amount of work was mental. Every cloud has a silver lining though, boss has been convinced that I am needed more, so I have been offered more hours. I had dropped hours when DD3 became ill and I was needed at home, but maybe now I can increase again. Need to have a quick think over the next few days and give an answer.

No time for flying today, too much entertaining & cake eating!
I will load the DW in a moment and that's me for tonight.

DidEinsteinsMum · 10/11/2009 21:28

hope to get topoint where i can read, post and chat but have had kick in ass today. Taching ok, but if dont sort it out will fail on the paperwork front so losts of paper creation over the next few days. Need to get it sorted by monday when my tutor is in for observations.
Hope all are well, the birthday people have had a nice time, the poorly feel better soon and hope the flying continues so well. Next week is planned for the early deadline christmas letters and cards. must be posted by 1st week of December. Need to get more organised and stop forgetting classes

droitwitchmum · 10/11/2009 21:54

Thanks for dusting us off DEM head down and get that paperwork sorted out! I was in similar situation earlier this year with an NVQ 3/4? (can't remember which) which work were paying for and assumed I had done when I hadn't and the deadline loomed. It IS possible just get to it. The relief I felt when it was done was immense so well worth it.

Minimal flying around here unless you count constructing Hot Wheels track etc and going to McDs for tea

Bit of laundry sorted, S&S this morning but nothing going on in kitchen so sink still gleaming from yesterday.

Wine is ready for those who want/need it. No birthday cake until Sunday though as that's when the parties (2!) are - bowling with friends lunchtime & family in the afternoon at home. He wants a chocolate cake with cars on it

See you tomorrow!

Evening all

Giraffe, no not nosy at all. We've relocated so I've left my old job and have started freelancing. Technically it's only supposed to be 1 day a week (split over 2 short days) but in reality it is taking up far more time than that. Hence I need to organise my time a bit more effectively.

For the rest of my day I
sort and put washing away - done
file paperwork - resolutly not done
make shep pie - done
take DS to library - done

Couldn't bring myself to even contemplate a Christmas menu plan!

dreamteamgirl · 10/11/2009 22:14

Oooh DEM, thats sounds stressful
Good luck sorting it all

POA Enjoy the cake! And OMG OMG OMG You made CAKE ? before work??? I only buy cakes soI am very very impressed!!!

LMAO Giraffe I wold like to pretend it has never happened to me... but I cant

Hey SC Get thee to the basement and work your mangle wench!! LOL< Sorry, it just sounds so funny banishing you to the basement!

MM Bigtent hosts the flylady messaging service soyou can register and then go on there to read loads of intersting extras.

Welcome back fruitstick Fab to see you!

Hi to PMPY and ellie- we have matching fridges!!!

Pluto hopw you had a lovely relax without baby. I know you are meant tomiss them and all, but by god is it nice to not have to listen out for crying for an hour or two isnt it???

MrsDinky you are almost a pro already!

Hi to DWM and thanks for the steps

I have done my kitchen beautifully today-. I have finally taken down all the really old photos of DS which means I could scrub the cupboard fronts- kitchen looks twice the size! I also decluttered in it, and did a 27 fling boogie, put out 2 hotspots, scrubbed all my cupboard tops and emptied and re stacked my tins cupbaord which looks ace and makes all the other shelves in there look rubbish- darn that fairy!! Now I have to do the other 4 shelves

Have done the outside of the hood but not the inside- I have to confess to having no idea what or how to do it... and not caring enough to go and find out how

Also done my daily routines and damp mopped the whole downstairs. Going to do some folding and getting ready for ironing in a mo

Hope everyone else is well

pushmepullyou · 10/11/2009 22:36

Evening all

Busy day chez the Doolittle. Gradually getting on top of neglected housework!

DTG hope you're feeling better. Chest infections are horrible I get them occassionally and hate the can't breather feeling - makes me really panicky.

HAG I have had the same experience today with the kitchen table , and the chair legs, and the tray that I keep down the side of the units, and the back door. I think our kitchen may be rather damp!

PAO mmm cake

to MM ellie OM and new FLYers as well as everyone else I've missed!
SC I feel your pain laundry-wise. My third lot of the day is on now and I still have at least another 3 to go. And that's without changing the beds, which is frankly long overdue .

DEM sympathies on the paperwork. It is not my strong point either. I have found that trying to treat it as FLYing is beginning to pay off though. Baby steps and all that. Not that helpful when you're up against a deadline though!

Had a bit of a scary moment today. Loading the car to go out with DD leaving her in the living room and pulling the door shut behind me. Turned round to find her lying in the mud at my feet with a big grin on her face . Was mostly annoyed at the extra washing and general bathing needed (our house is 'off road' so no passing traffic worries) particularly as we were about to go out until DH came home and helpfully pointed out that she could have crawled under my car and I could have moved it and run her over . Sure this would never have happened as I had my eye off her for literally 20 seconds, but it really brought home to me how active she's getting now and how difficult it's going to be to keep her safe once she's running about. She did walk three steps on her own on Sunday, so it must be pretty imminent now!

Anyhow...

Morning routine - done
Do washing and drying - 3rd load in dryer
Unstack dishwasher - done twice
Stack dishwasher - done twice
Put away laundry mountain - done
Do expenses - done
Go to tip - rescheduled for Thursday!
take 2 bags of stuff upstairs and put away - can't be bothered
Have '27 thing fling' (can't bring myself to call it a boogie!)from the house in general - done about 15!
clear clutter and general remedial cleaning from kitchen, inc today's mission - done
start excel spread sheets for my control journal and Christmas planning - started but barely!

Also
empty nappy bin - done
buy ingredients for quiche - done
make quiche - done
bleach cat bowls - done

pushmepullyou · 10/11/2009 22:49

x-posts there DTG. Glad to have some company with my slatternly fridge top!

elliepac · 11/11/2009 06:26

Morning all. Sounds like everyone had a good day yesterday. I didn't but in my defence i didn't properly finish work until half 9. Am not going to posta list today because have another busy day so am not going to set myself up for failure.

Plus have got up this morning and the pilot light on the heating has gone out and won't re light so I have no heating . Aaaaaagh, the last thing I need just before Christmas .

Hope everyone has a better day than mine is setting out to be!

Morning all..missed you all yesterday but had a very hectic day with no flying as I had parents evening ( and the same again tonight!). Thursday will see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Why, oh why do all appliances fail at once??Have had to buy new tumble dryer and fridge freezer (eek!) so am in this morning waiting for delivery!

On the plus side I've completed the mission without realising it!!. Also no excuse for doing other jobs.

I have to say that the Christmas missions,in my opinion, are making total moountains out of molehills! Am I alone with this thought???

Special mention to DWMand PA birthday children - hope they both had good days!

DEM good luck with the file - I'm sure you'll get it all done, you sound a very organised person to me

Hi to everyone else - SC, Elliepac, WTD, HAG, FRuitstick, Pmpy, DTG and anyone else I have missed! have a great day.

optimisticmumma · 11/11/2009 08:40

moountains?? mountains!

dreamteamgirl · 11/11/2009 12:08

Arghh frdige today! I do hate this job. Will not be about to do it till latr, but I will cos my fridge is bad

oooh lets all post the worst thing we find!

OM I had to replace
washing machine, tumble drier, fridge freezer and dishwasher all whilst pregnant with DS, (now 4.5) and true to form, I have had to replace tumble drier this month and washing machine is noit getting clothes clean and is rattling...

positiveattitudeonly · 11/11/2009 13:28

OM - I think your MOOOOOOOuntains out of moleholls is far nearer the mark. I thought it was just me being a party pooper!

My fridge freezer was new in August, so not needing too much doing.

All these appliances breaking just before Christmas too. How annoying. Will probably be half the price in January!

Hope everyone is flying well today.

See you this evening, if my meeting doesn't go on for too long ...... thinking about it, I will probably be back on tomorrow!

Pluto · 11/11/2009 13:36

MrsDinky · 11/11/2009 20:31

Hi everyone,
I seem to have lost track of what everyone is doing, but sounds like you've all been busy. Tues and Weds are my days at home with DD, so feel guilty if I spend too much time on the computer (also she nags me relentlessly to let her play on it, so easier just not to put it on) or doing housework.

So, todays list is short:

S+S - done
Shine sink/washing up, DW on - to do
Washing - done
Shredding (never ending)
Fridge - did this about 2 weeks ago.
DS packed lunch for tomorrow - done

I had a kitchen blitz last month pre-flying,(including large scale declutter of all non food cupboards) so this week's missions are not too bad for me.
I will be in big trouble if they decide next week is garage week, more like a year will be needed for that one. See you tomorrow.

tibni · 11/11/2009 20:46

Good day today

managed to wash all the carpets today and have given ds bedroom a really good clean - washing walls, paintwork etc. Got bathroom and master bedroom cleaned too.

Working next 2 days so I will not have time to get much done but will try some maintenance. Planning on getting up early tomorrow to get some done before leaving at 7.30am.

ds PA having him tomorrow after school and Friday as he has a training day. Having someone else in my home is always a good motivation to get clean and tidy.

Have a good couple of days if I don't get chance to post.

droitwitchmum · 11/11/2009 21:47

What busy lives you all have! Just do what you can even if its just shining your sink each day and pop in when you can.

Just about done in for today. Not touched lounge (had bath instead ) but about to do 15 mins ironing, shine sink and go to bed.

See you tomorrow

Evening All

Just back from lovely dinner out with DH.

Thanks DTG re Big Tent explanation - that had totally passed me by (I haven't signed up for the mail).

Sounds like lots of us have completed the mission without realising . Me too, I cleaned it out at the weekend (mainly because I had some stock that was threatening to walk out all by itself). I'm still staying firmly in the cooker hood hall of shame I'm afraid!

Tibni v impressed with your carpet cleaning and wall washing.

PMPY bleaching cat bowl...

Interesting day today. The cleaners weren't able to come and I wanted the house to be presentable because my friend was coming over to babysit this evening. But as SC about her weekend impromtu visit (with far less warning than mine, am very impressed) it didn't really phase me - just did an hour of cleaning at lunchtime. This would not have been the case a couple of months ago believe me (so thank you all ).

So, my list for today looks like this:

  • S&S
  • dw cleaner in and on
  • load of dishwashing
  • load of washing and hang out
  • dry washing folded away
  • vacuum downstairs
  • wash kitchen and wooden floors
  • dust and polish downstairs
  • shine sink and kitchen in general
  • empty rubbish bins and clean
  • clean cloakroom
  • DS lunch and dinner
  • hide two piles of paperwork in desk
  • book flights for weekend away to friends that we cancelled visiting us last month
  • book B&B for another weekend away with DH

Oops, lots of grins and a long list......feeling a bit positive for the first time in a few weeks!

Have a good sleep everyone

DidEinsteinsMum · 11/11/2009 22:42

not here doing paperwork promise.

Did 15mins of ironing this morning. Have the basic seating plan register bits in file now. Just have to tackle the lesson plans that i have taught I made plans just not on the form needed too. So need to type up and fill in gaps. It is a hoop jumping exercise and i have sore legs already. Right 2 litres diet coke drunk it will get done tonight.

Waves to everyone. i will catch up promise but if someone is feeling generous to summarise the chat and roughly how going I would love it. Thanks.

optimisticmumma · 11/11/2009 23:17

DEM LOL at 'hoop jumping' how right you are but get jumping!! Hope you post tomorrow having jumped through them all!

Parents Evening - done

Looking forward to flying tomorrow...

DidEinsteinsMum · 12/11/2009 02:29

Hysterical giggle at file. Files now into 4 volumes and only 5 weeks into placement
Done most of the admini bits. Need to finish sorting out the lesson plans but they are all partly done to varying degrees. I have also got one lesson for next week planned and tamed the ironing pile (was giving eyes a rest from the computer whislt cooking an midnight snack so sink not shiney at mo) Which just leaves the weekly evaluations for which i have got as far as printing sheets.

There has been progress. Hopefully there will now be sleep, else i shall get back up and do more paperwork oh i wished i had done this as i went along. One mistake to avoid in future.

Leaving after being so boring
