Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I'll also post Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm, making the coffee and brewing tea.

Good luck!

Sorry HAG! If it's any consolation I still haven't either found the feather duster or started hoovering (yet). Have invited a friend over tomorrow in order to further motivate myself to get the hoovering done.

walkthedinosaur · 09/11/2009 20:08

Evening everyone, wow some of you have had busy days.

My list for this afternoon and tonight

Paid work Done
Clean out oven on range Done
Clean cooker top Done
Mop kitchen floor
Make DC's dinner for tonightDone
DS1's piano lessonDone
DS1's home workDone
Do an hour on assignment when DC's are in bed Done

I don't have a cooker hood so I shone all the hot plates instead. As a bonus I've found DS1's wellies that he lost last year, they were in the warming oven drying out - the hours of hassle I gave him over losing them.

I've been on the go since 6.30 and still not sat down, so I'm going to have a nice relaxing bath and then maybe catch up on an hour's TV.

See you all tomorrow.

droitwitchmum · 09/11/2009 20:08

MM I'm too scared to even look at my cooker hood

LOL HAG - dh hasn't broken anything but he does owe me! Last week ds got up at 4am and bounced (ASD and sleep do not mix!). I then had a full, heavy day at work. Nothing unusual there you may think! BUT!!!! I got landed to go to MIL's and drop of a gift . (she does live close to my work) I got the loving greeting "I was hoping dh would come to visit me" and given a cheque for dc's xmas / birthday gifts in dh sole name! As if dh is going to go out shopping!

dh and I have been together since I was 15 so I am used to it by now. Just to complete my day it took me 90 mins to drive back home as it was now rush hour rather than 30mins.

dh is actually helping out more. He even got involved in cleaning the fridge tonight

pushmepullyou · 09/11/2009 20:42

Hi all - if anyone remembers me

Back from my weekend away, which was fab

Been at work today, which was less fab so back to flying tomorrow morning, by which time I will have caught up with the thread!

frantic waving to everyone in the meantime - and a strick of Edinburgh rock (or shot of whisky if you prefer!)

StillCounting · 09/11/2009 21:11

Hello everyone

Just checking in before bed. Am a bit cream crackered.

Ah yes Pluto - the Fat Fairy has an all-seeing eye Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow and thanks for the reminder about spring bulbs ...

Go steady with the fume inhalation MrsDinky but well done on the cooker hood!!

HavingAG - sorry, yes "fairy cups" is dd's expression for acorn shells still attached to the twigs ....couldn't agree more about extending w/e ... my preferrd method is double bill of "House" + glass of red!! Don't feel guilty about your lie-in - you really are Flying high!!

Hello tibni (I'm sorry, I think I forgot to wave to you this morning!) Hope your dd IS ok ....I very much sympathise re: your mil btw. Have v. similar "issues" - tried hard for 14 years to make it work - am now sadly resigned to "keeping everything polite"!

Yo Elliepac and Optimistic - thanks, it was a great w/e!! Good luck with your admin....

MM - Well done with your ironing. That's a very good point about GoldenSnitch ... I hope she is OK ... Dreamteam also of course.

Was also wondering about Frightstick/Fruitstick Rhian82 and Pink from last month (have probably missed others too). If any of you are lurking, you are missed, so do please come back!!

WalktheD - congratulations on your long list!! Lol about the wellies ...!!

Droitwitchmum - my lips remain firmly sealed on the subject of my cooker hood too -I've GOT to tackle the entire stove before Christmas. Can't have the whole house filling with smoke again ....

Must start Flying "properly" again tomorrow -it's good to keep up and "maintain" - a darn sight better than before in fact - but am desperate to "make progress" now ....

G'night all ...

[hands Optimistic and Elliepac - fortifying hot drinks to assist with paperwork]

StillCounting · 09/11/2009 21:14

x posts PushmePullYOu - welcome back, we missed you!! [Whisky just what the doctor ordered thanks]

PA - I forgot to give you a wave- sorry!!

And to anyone else I have missed ...

optimisticmumma · 09/11/2009 21:30

Thanks SC - coffee much appreciated! Marking is now done!!!
WTD LOL at the wellies. How long were they in for and are they now wearable???

See you all tomorrow!

Jumbs · 09/11/2009 21:36

Evening everyone

Weekends all sound lovely!
Mine was good too, as I started to feel heapss better and ended up at Legoland and then at Fireworks on Sunday ! Who was saying about taking it easy ...

One special mention of a 'woohoo' and 'WTG' to SC for surviving unplanned visitors arriving 10 mins after getting back from holiday/ w.e. away. You did good Mrs.

Just about to fold and iron clothes for 15 mins- no longer too tired and then head to bed.

Night all xx

droitwitchmum · 09/11/2009 22:09

I'm back!

Done all my list now except for the cooker hood (v scared emoticon)

Welcome back PMPY and Jumbs! GoldenSnitch are you there?

V productive everyone. I can see the cooker hoods gleaming from here (except mine, MMs and SCs of course)

See you in the morning - need to hide DS present somewhere until after school or I'll never get him there.....

HAG lol...you have too much faith in me..my work came 'home to visit' as well.

PMPY welcome back..we missed you

DTG glad to hear you are feeling better

Jumbs Keep on going..you can do it. No negativity here

OM well done on the marking. You did better than me ..there's always tonight

WTD lol at the wellies

tibni getting DH trained..I am impressed, please let me know how you did it. Have been trying for years with my DH with very little success

MM Glad to hear DS is Ok. DD is fine, I was more traumatised than she was I think .

Frankly, I can't be arsed havent got a lot of time this morning so am not going to get much done before work. Probably won't get much done tonight either as have got to go back to school at 7pm for GCSE certificate presentation evening. Have got 2 free periods today so am hoping to get the marking I should have done last night done then. Busy day at the office then.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Coffee is on, tea is brewing. It's cold this morning so porridge is bubbling away if anyone fancies it

droitwitchmum · 10/11/2009 06:58

Thanks for coffee and porridge!
Well done EBL/DEM/SINO for still flying.

Just done links and list then lost them

Babystep is here - great reminder and it certainly helped me last night

Mission today is do-able even on DS's birthday . Still not looking at cooker hood though...

Christmas mission is here for you organised folks

No time to re-post list but only doing basics + mission + tidying up wrapping paper and finding batteries

Have a good day all!

OP posts:
MrsDinky · 10/11/2009 08:07

Morning everyone,

Not a lot of time to post, but here is my list

Hoovering
Tidying
Clean bathroom
Filing
Mission - did it last week! Makes up for the fact that I still can't find feather duster.

See you later

positiveattitudeonly · 10/11/2009 08:09

Morning all. No porridge for me thanks. My mum always called it "devils gloop" so surprisingly I am no lover of it!!!!

Just a quick post this morning before work to let you all know that I have:

Done sandwiches (x6 today)
breakfast done
Unloaded DW
Loaded DW
Done present giving ceremony with DD2 -17 today!
MADE A CHOCOLATE BIRTHDAY CAKE - just thought i would put that bold to show my smugness!!!! Before work and all!! This is really because I am working all day today and cannot guarantee that I will have electric when I get home! So impressed with myself!!

My cooker hood is absolutely foul. I will put it on my to-do list before Christmas, but after the danger of dust has gone.

I will give everyone a wave and will catch up with what you are all up to later.

Just to let you know that I am so pleased that the house was in a pretty good shape before the work started. I feel as if i will be able to manage to get things back on track with far less work than normal when the house is mine again.

Pluto · 10/11/2009 09:16

Happy birthday to POAGirl and DWMBoy My DS1 is 10 next week OMG double digits. Where does the time go? Very impressed with the cake making making POA as I don't even own a cake tin

"Make sure you schedule time to polish the silver before Christmas" says the Fat Fairy. At last I have an opportunity to do this...

OK, so babe is with CM and I have about 4 hours to...

Go staggering around the parkrunning
Usual morning routines
Ironing
Today's mission

Have a good day everyone.

pushmepullyou · 10/11/2009 09:27

Morning everyone

ellie DM and SC - I missed you too . And everyone else of course!

Just nipping on to post a list as it is post-holiday chaos here housework wise!

Morning routing - done
Do washing and drying - 3 loads min, first on.
Unstack dishwasher - done
Stack dishwasher
Put away laundry mountain!
Do expenses
Go to tip

I did my cooker hood last month. How smug do I feel . Recoiled in horror at the thought of the top of the fridge though

Back later to try to catch up

fruitstick · 10/11/2009 10:08

Good lord I have missed a lot!

I can't believe how big this thread is, even though I haven't set foot on it so far

I think I'm finally managed to get into the swing of things re: working, kids etc and the morning and evening routines have really helped out. Even my control journal is not looking too bad (even if I don't stick to it).

So I'm back with a vengeance

So far this morning I have
loaded dishwasher
loaded washing machine
made bed
made coffee
got meat out for shep pie later
remembered DS book bag
done some work.

For the rest of the day I need to
sort and put washing away
file paperwork
make shep pie
take DS to library

It's my leaving lunch at work tomorrow (I'm not returning from mat leave). I've been there 13 years so I'm expecting a good present

elliepac · 10/11/2009 10:41

Wahey, fruitstick how the devil are you?

Mid-morning check in for me while marking that coursework I should have done last night

A big Happy Birthday to POA's DD and DWM's DS. Hope you all have a lovely day and concentrate on your fabulous children. Special mention must go to POA for making a chocolate cake before work . I am that impressed I don't even know where to begin but am sure that deserves some kind of reward from the fat fairy

Pluto hope you take some time for yourself as well while babe at Cm's.

PMPY I can't actually see the top of my fridge there is so much crap on top of it . I feel your pain

havingagiraffe · 10/11/2009 11:25

Should be hoovering but am skiving! Speaking of which ellie - what would your head say if they caught you MN'ing

Welcome back fruitstick you certainly are back with a vengence. Nosy warning coming up - am confused as you mentioned work and then that your weren't returning after mat leave - Have you found something better workwise? Obviously you can tell me to mind my own ... but was intrigued, as not planning to return to my horrible job career when my leave finishes.

So amazingly impressed with PA Chocolate cake! Before work! (and 6x sandwiches of course) You are Superwoman. 17, does that mean driving lessons?!

Happy Birthday to both PA's DD and DWM DS - enjoy it both of you.

Totally sympathise with MIL issues too and have gone down SC route - keep it polite. Thank goodness she lives hundreds of miles away. Mind you 'the mother' is due to land in about 30 mins so I'd best fly off.

pushmepullyou · 10/11/2009 12:01

Hello again fruitstick, feeling of your productive morning!

ellie can't really see the top of mine either. It's covered in little used breadmakers and fondue sets that are themselves covered in a layer of general kitchen grub!

Morning routine - done
Do washing and drying - 3 loads min, first done.
Unstack dishwasher - done
Stack dishwasher - done
Put away laundry mountain - done
Do expenses - done
Go to tip - rescheduled for Thursday!
take 2 bags of stuff upstairs and put away
Have '27 thing fling' (can't bring myself to call it a boogie!)from the house in general - done about 15!
clear clutter and general remedial cleaning from kitchen, inc today's mission - done
start excel spread sheets for my control journal and Christmas planning.

Also
empty nappy bin
buy ingredients for quiche
make quiche

Badly need to do various other jobs as well, but will leave them off the list for now as don't want to depress myself!

MiniMarmite · 10/11/2009 19:07

Happy Birthday to your little ones DWM and PAO (I'm so late arriving today they are probably just about in bed)!

Well done on choc cake too PAO smugness definately warranted.

Reading reminders in Big Tent. Did I miss something?!

Anyway, another long day at work but amazingly (how, I do not know) the house does not look to bad but I am a few days behind with the washing (no surprise there).

My list (to keep me on the straight and narrow):

  • S&S - done
  • bed making - done
  • dishwasher/kichen clean
  • a load of washing
  • clear all surfaces that look like hotspots (cleaners coming tomorrow).
  • tidy cutlery drawer (swapping for today's mission)
  • sink shine
  • clothes ready for tomorrow

WTD love the wellies story - it would happen to me too.

A day with DS for me tomorrow , I've barely seen him for 2 days and then an evening out with DH

Have a great evening everyone, I won't be on again today as I'm going to try to do everything quickly and then get an early night.

StillCounting · 10/11/2009 19:21

Hi everyone ...well done on all your lists ...

just checking in to confess that I have done virtually no house-work today as v. busy day in office ... not all bad as kitchen and sitting/dining room/bathroom are keeping themselves miraculously tidy ....and afternoon routine going well .... but oh... I must get to that laundry before my outfit combinations get any more bizarre

Public holiday here tomorrow (except for European Institutions obviously) so may not be checking in again until Thurs am. School and office shut tomorrow, therefore going to church (service of remembrance) in the morning followed by family day at home with friend coming to tea ...have 4 cousins in the forces, 3 of whom have survived tours in Iraq and Afghanistan (one just in Iraq). So we are counting our blessings .... others not so lucky .....

Yay!! Fruitstick is back! Great to see you. And great to see you too PushmePullyou!! And Jumbs and Einstein'sBentLight no less!! You were all missed ....and well done on the Flying front ...

Happy Birthday to both PA's DD and DWM's DS- choc cake sounds fab and made in a house with builders no less! Thanks for steps DWM - hope you all have had lovely day

Great to hear you are so much better Dreamteam and that you had such a good w/e!!!

Hello to Pluto, MrsDinky, Elliepac SINO and ShoppingVeggie WalktheD and HavingaG and anyone I have missed!

When you do see me next on here, pls do me a favour and tell me to leave your nice warm sitting room and your glass of wine and go to the decrepit freezing dark cobweb covered place in the deepest darkest bowels of the house and DO THE LAUNDRY!!!!!

The Flying on here is impressive. Keep going everyone!!
