Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I'll also post Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm, making the coffee and brewing tea.

Good luck!

Morning,

absolutely nothing done yesterday and am slowly slipping backwards . House is a tip, washing piling back up again etc. etc.

Will see what I can do tonight. Had a row with DH this morning already so think the day may just go down hill.

Please excuse this stroppy post...will pop back later when I have pulled myself together

droitwitchmum · 12/11/2009 06:39

Good morning all!
DEM hope you've had some sleep. Keep going it will all be worth it

Babystep for today is about deleting flylady's e-mails
Mission is wiping down worksurfaces
Christmas mission is shopping

Today I need to
get dressed
breakfast
DS & DH up
make lunch
empty DW
washing on

after work
S&S
wipe down worktops
15 mins ironing
15 mins lounge
dining table - hotspot
put washing away
shine sink

I did look at my cooker hood yesterday (then ran away) but my fridge is shiny

See you later

walkthedinosaur · 12/11/2009 07:33

Morning all, haven't been around for a couple of days as have been busy with real life and have only skimmed briefly through thread.

Elliepac chin up, it will all come right as the say where I come from, just do what you can and don't beat yourself up about it, at the end of the day it's only housework.

DEM did you get any sleep? I wouldn't be fit for anything if I'd stayed up as late as you working.

I've done quite well in the last couple of days, fridge cleaned, cupboards wiped down. Had a lovely day yesterday, Wednesday so no school for DS's, so we went back to the woods and found loads of fir/pine cones (I can never tell the difference) now that I've cleared the wellies out of the drying oven I've shoved them in there to dry out and hopefully in the next couple of weeks we'll be able to paint and decorate them for Christmas.

Have also made great headway in my assignment this week, somebody on the thread said treat it like flying, so I've scheduled in an hour or so every evening and I think I'm just about finished, will do an hour tonight and then check over the weekend and post, so result!

Today I have:-

s and S
DW unloaded and reloaded
Written cheques for school
Found egg box for DS2 for school to make a fire engine
Wiped down kitchen surfaces
Shone sink
Wiped dining table

To do:-

Sort out some laundry
Clear hot spot of recipe books out of kitchen
Dust and polish in living room
Paid work
Assignment
DS1 homework and piano practice tonight

That's it I'm going to get on now. I'll have some of that strong coffee if I may.

Have a good day everyone.

positiveattitudeonly · 12/11/2009 07:35

Elliepac - I'm with you!! I've slipped terribly too. I vowed never again to have a pile of clean washing in my back lounge ever again......what do I have a MAHOOOSIVE pile to sort through/iron and put away!
We've done it once, we can do it again!!
Hope your day gets better.

DIdn't get back from meeting til 10.15 last night, so only enough energy to throw my feet up on sofa for 30mins to get my brain to stop whirring about work and then off to bed! Day off today, but loads of work to do from home.

Will try to sort out my washing pile today.
Cook a lovely family meal as we have not had any time together for over a week, but we are all in for tea tonight at the same time .

Not going to put anything else on my list so that I can actually acheive this alongside all the work to do today.

HAve a good day all.

StillCounting · 12/11/2009 08:29

Good morning everyone

Thanks for steps and coffee Droitwich

Hands Elliepac second cup of strong coffee
Don't despair! I slipped back terribly beginning last week/end of week before but once you have been Flying a bit (and you have been doing brilliantly) it will slip back in to place much more easily than before. Don't try and do it all tonight. Just get the laundry going [SC looks shifty] and give yourself until end of Sunday to make a start on rest. Both my sisters work in education and I can't BELIEVE the amount of admin they both have - plus you have had heating/pilot light issues - all of which eat up time. You'll get there!!

DidEinstein'sM - good luck with your admin too + all the teachers/lecturers on this thread ... don't know how you do it ...

MiniMarmite - brilliant to hear you are feeling more positive about things!! xx (That's a mega-list btw, v.impressed)
WtheD - you are on a roll!!

Hello to Dreamteam MrsDinky Optimistic PA tibni Pluto $PushmePullYOu and Fruitstick* and anyone I have missed ...

Has anyone seen Leeloo??? Hope OK and come back if you are lurking.

Hope everyone has a great day!

StillCounting · 12/11/2009 08:43

Oh forgot to say "hello" to HavingaG (sure I have missed others - sorry) and to post my own list (at home today, so cleaning + errands + have workmen in):

-continue LAUNDRY - ALL DAY!!!!

  • 40 mins ironing
-tidy kitchen (counters already pretty much OK )
  • s&s bathroom
  • tidy master bedroom (get's easily out of hand if not ruthless every day)
  • start on home office (again) - lots of separate 15 min blitzes
  • start actually doing something about St Nicolas (6th Dec when dc get their main presents here) and Christmas
  • order a couple of presents on-line
-French study
  • 2 e-mails
  • plan for work meeting tomorrow

Errands: bank, 4 little presents, quick food shop

Want to start exercising/power walking x 3 per week so must try and sort out suitable clothes ....

Hope everyone has a productive day ....

elliepac · 12/11/2009 09:20

Strong coffee is working...can almost manage a smile now..

optimisticmumma · 12/11/2009 09:37

Elliepac - we've all had days like yours! A row with DH definitely ruins my day and then everything else feels worse. Raid the staffroom biscuit tin/choc tin ( your MUST have one!) it always does it for me!

SC that's a heck of a list but I'm with youall the way with the laundry ( holding your hand).

washdrywashdrywashdrywashdry (until bins empty!)
ironironironironiron (until basket flat!)

Is there any point in posting more?

Supper?
Mustn't forget to pick up 3x Y8 boys from rugby practice!!
15 mins kitchen declutter.

Catch up later...

MrsDinky · 12/11/2009 09:41

Morning all,

Sorry you're feeling a bit down today Elliepac. I'm with Stillcounting in being full of admiration for the teachers on here, I am toying with training myself, but not quite sure if I am up to it alongside running the house and 2 DCs TBH. My last job (made redundant in Sept) left me permanently exhausted/grumpy, even though I liked it.

Anyway, todays list, quite short as I am spending this afternoon helping at school.

Emails/phonecalls - half done
Washing on machine - done
Washing on line
1/2 hour ironing
Marking hats/gloves with DCs names
S+S
Unload DW, reload and wipe counters
If I get time, walk in to town on an errand.

Stillcounting - I like your idea of power walking for exercise, most of my walking tends to be at dawdling toddler speed, will walk to town and back (1/2hr round trip) as fast as I can today.

hellsbelles · 12/11/2009 09:41

hello all,

I've been a rubbish flyer recently but looks like you are all getting on really well. I'm determined to get back on track (at the moment I'm just 'keeping up' but not doing any of the new missions).

Today have supper marinating in the fridge, laundry on, beds made, sink shined....but clutter clutter everywhere!

Catch up later....

dreamteamgirl · 12/11/2009 10:09

Aww ellie dont get down. I know (or at least I almost rememeber) what having a row at the start of the day does to your day, but dont let it drag you dowm.
Even if house has slipped for a day or two, you are so much furthewr ahead thatn you were and you will be able to reclaim it really easily. just use your timer and do a coupleof 15 minute sessions and you will be amazed at yourself honestly

No time for anythign else, but I couldnt read your post and not say anything

MiniMarmite · 12/11/2009 12:49

Just sneaking in at lunchtime to send hugs and a of the virtual biscuit variety rather than a non comment to ellie and anyone else who feels in need of one

havingagiraffe · 12/11/2009 15:06

Not much time as need to go and get tonight's dinner but wanted to just check in and let you know I am doing OK (not flying exactly but flapping wildly in an attempt to get off the ground)

Ellie Rows in the morning are rubbish, leave you to feel bad/fume all day. -Men - bleurgh! Sure it will be sorted later and as WTD it's only housework - there's more to life really. Just put off 15 min room rescue to text friend who had a baby boy yesterday - far more important than blardy cleaning. xx

Will try to catch up properly later.

StillCounting · 12/11/2009 17:05

Just checking in. How has everyone got on?

[Oh and forgot to wave to you before Hellesbelles - don't worry - keeping up IS good - I've not reached mission stage yet either.

Lordy! Not very productive day. Workmen managed to cause minor explosion in basement ... smell of cordite in the air ...now half of our lights and sockets do not work ... they are coming back tomorrow ...

So haven't got as much done as would have liked but on the other hand tv not working so hopefully will have productive evening ...

continue LAUNDRY - ALL DAY!!!! done 3 loads so far, on my 4th

  • 40 mins ironing done
-tidy kitchen (counters already pretty much OK )done
  • s&s bathroom done
  • tidy master bedroom (get's easily out of hand if not ruthless every day)half done
  • start on home office (again) - lots of separate 15 min blitzes FAILED AGAIN
  • start actually doing something about St Nicolas (6th Dec when dc get their main presents here) and Christmas started
  • order a couple of presents on-line done
-French study - MUST DO SOME TONIGHT
  • 2 e-mails done
  • plan for work meeting tomorrow - MUST do tonight

Errands: bank done, 4 little presents done, quick food shop tomorrow

Want to start exercising/power walking x 3 per week so must try and sort out suitable clothes .... not done but looked on-line and lost 40 mins surfing

MrsDinky - want to try and do 3 x 50 mins lurching power walk per week. Are you up for it???

Flaps wings at everyone else ....

Annabel1 · 12/11/2009 17:39

Sorry to arrive unannounced, but I just looked at this thread yeaterday cos was intrigued and have now signed up. Seems just what I need. Won't post here but wanted to say thank you!

elliepac · 12/11/2009 17:55

you ladies are lovely and reading your lovely comments here (and eating the biscuits, thanks MM) has brought a smile to my face for possibly the first time today....my poor kids wondered what had hit them...chirpy I was not. Can't remember who said it but you are so right about a row putting you in a bad mood, plus am now sitting here wondering what will happen when DH comes home from work, whether we will choose to ignore, make up, or carry on. MEN!!!!! To top it all off, put the car in for it's MOT retest today and it failed AGAIN!!!! Oh, and I got back from work and I had locked the blardy cat in the dining room by mistake and it has weed and pooed everywhere . Just typifies my day..full of s**t. (I do apologise for swearing but have been rather potty mouthed today - please forgive tis exceptional circumstances!)

Am off to mope in a corner some more but will be back later when hopefully me and DH have made up and I have done some cleaning.

You are all beautiful.

MrsDinky · 12/11/2009 18:43

Oh, poor Elliepac, think you deserve more than a biscuit now, at least a cake.

Stillcounting - that does sound like a good plan. My walk to town today got sabotaged by DH phoning up and needing me to bring something important to work that he had forgotton, that took an hour. I need motivation on the exercise front, it doesn't come naturally at all, maybe add it to the Flying.

Of my list

Emails/phonecalls - half done
Washing on machine - done
Washing on line - well, in dryer, chucking it down all afternoon here
1/2 hour ironing - later?
Marking hats/gloves with DCs names
S+S - done
Unload DW, reload and wipe counters - done
If I get time, walk in to town on an errand.

I was very brave doing the kitchen counters and went for the full horror that is moving the microwave and cleaning under it. Yeeuch, nearly as bad as the cooker hood.

MiniMarmite · 12/11/2009 19:23

Poor you Ellie cake definitely needed I think. I hope you and DH make up when he gets home.

Well done on the laundry SC, sorry to hear about explosion though...doesn't sound good.

walkthedinosaur · 12/11/2009 20:11

Annabel don't run off, keep posting we're very encouraging.

Poor ellipac sorry your day hasn't got any better, but what's the point in having kids/being a teacher if you can't take your moods out on them .

Had quite a good day today, I think I've done all the things on my list except my assignment, instead at last I got the delivery of wax I've been waiting for and spent my time making lovely smelly candles instead. I've had a ball, they were supposed to be for Christmas presents, but I like them so much I don't want to give them away.

Anyhow DH is on the ferry on his way home so I'm a happy bunny, hopefully I'll get my work in good time tomorrow and get it all done without having to eat into the weekend. He's bringing floor tiles so by the end of this weekend one room in my house will be completely finished - the hallway.

I'm sure the other rooms will be eventually finished in time it's only taken us 4 years to get this far. I won't know what to do with myself when I'm not living on a building site.

It's a great TV night for me tonight, so I'm cracking open the wine for those who want to join me, I'm going to put my feet up and light one of my smelly candles and have a TV orgy (well for a couple of hours before I fall asleep).

See you all tomorrow.

DidEinsteinsMum · 12/11/2009 20:49

Tiredly waves at people. Still have lesson plans but done one set of 30 books marking, SN/specials notes, got stuff for next units for next week, have plan of action for observation lesson, done a very informative observation on transitions.

Have done 30mins of flying as on mission to hunt down something and discovered why the office lookd so empty. Now replaced boxes where live.

Waves at everyone before attempting to wander off for bed.

droitwitchmum · 12/11/2009 21:54

Oooh wine and smelly candles! Thanks wtd Did you manage to make the fire engine?

Quick round up of everyone - sorry in advance if I miss anyone out
ellie pull a beanbag and grab a glass of wine in one hand and a large slab of victoria sponge in the other
PAO hope you managed your list today. I have just got rid of my laundry mountain by limiting myself to 15 mins ironing at a time. I can manage that much without getting distracted because its ONLY for 15 mins then I have to stop.
SC not seen Leelou anywhere but I DID spot GoldenSnitch on another thread today
OM just in case you forgot - get the boys from rugby practice!
MrsD you are flying along - v impressed!
hells you may have clutter but you are still getting loads done - supper marinating in fridge before 10am!
Wise words dtm
MM thanks for the welcome to Annabel1
HAG keep flapping - if you do it long anough you will fly (possibly)
Annabel thanks for peeping in. Feel free to join in whenever you like. We're especially good at commiserating and encouraging if you are having a rough patch.
DEM sleep well. You've done really well to do as much as you have. I know you have lots to do but you do need to look after yourself and eat/sleep well too

Pluto · 12/11/2009 22:48

Good Evening flyers. A busy day for me visiting family and doing shopping, cubs run and parents' eve so no housework done at all. Got a result on the Xmas shopping though - all the extended family have agreed that this year we will only buy gifts for children. I'd much rather make a fuss of grown up people on their birthdays.

I have nothing planned for tomorrow but DS2 will be home quite late so I should really make the most of the time and plan something nice for me and DS2 (he's 9 months old tomorrow). Perhaps I should treat him to his first taste of chocolate sponge

StillCounting · 12/11/2009 23:01

Must go to bed ...electricity situations somewhat redeemed upon dh's return when he discovered that electrician's had turned off one circuit as precautionary measure so lights restored again ...!!

Still a few things to do before crashing but just wanted to say "well done" to everyone who got through their mammoth lists today [looks admiringly at Droitwich] and "we'll prevail" to those of us who didn't quite!

A warm welcome to Annabel - do feel free to post!

Elliepac - last straw about the cat I am sure ...

have a glass or two ...

Sleep well Einstein

Hope your dh and tiles arrive safely WthD

G'night to Dinky and Mini-M and everyone else .... see you in the morning ...

StillCounting · 12/11/2009 23:02

Oh Elliepac - sorry - link didn't work

Was supposed to be large hand pouring bottle of red in to generously sized glass!

Cheers anyway!! Hope your evening is better than your day!
