Spanking new Flybaby "nursery" thread - learn how to Fly for the month of September only

Countingthegreyhairs · 31/08/2009 13:42

Hello. Does anyone want to join/re-join us for a mutual "kick-up-the-bum" motivational thread starting tomorrow 1st September?

[Then we can join the main Flying threads thereafter if we want to.)

We did the same throughout August

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/good_housekeeping/799866-starting-tomorrow-accelerated-flying-for-month-of-Augu st-only

and it has really helped but being confirmed slatterns extreme cases we feel the need to repeat the exercise throughout September too. We need to declutter, organise, tidy and clean and generally get our lives under control.

All newcomers welcome!

School uniform labelling here too!!!

blissa · 01/09/2009 20:31

Aargh! Labelling, I knew I'd forgotten something.

It'll have to wait til tomorrow, I've had a bad tummy today and I need a hot bath.

cakeforbrains · 01/09/2009 20:34

Hi can I join you too? I've looked at the Flylady website before but always found it too complex for my sleep-deprived brain. But my house is a tip so I need to do something.

positiveattitudeonly · 01/09/2009 20:41

Come on in cakeforbrains - love the name!

I wish I had some school uniform to label. Massive panicky trouser hunt yet again tomorrow. Why, oh why do I always leave it to the last minute, then the shops have run out of what I need!
Every year I vow to be organised NEXT year. You would have thought that after 15 years of school runs I would have learnt, wouldn't you.

elliepac · 01/09/2009 21:16

right so first day of flying complete and sink is shiny and all pots are washed up. To some this may be minor but to have a tidy kitchen when i go to bed is a miracle for me!

Back to work tomorrow (boo hoo) so am interested to see if this fly business will help because if i am this disorganised when not at work you can only imagine what i am like when at work full time

What are we doing tomorrow ladies?

feetheart · 01/09/2009 22:44

I'm in, though a little late (as usual!)

Did FlyLady a year or two ago and did quite well but I lapsed (though kept a few routines). REALLY need to get back on track so I'm off to finish the dishes and shine the sink before bed.

Night all

NinjaRain · 01/09/2009 23:20

Sink was shiney when i came up to rest earlier. DOnt know what state it is in now and not brave enough to find out but it was clean when i last saw it.

Countingthegreyhairs · 02/09/2009 07:32

Well done on all those glistening sinks everyone

Here's the step for today, Wed 2 Sept:

this one is going to be popular I can tell!

That's all!!

Would you prefer it if I post the steps the night before btw?

[Thank you Blissa - she went off with a scowl this morning - lovely!]

LoveBeingAMummy · 02/09/2009 07:41

Morning

OK so did my usual yesterday of postng first thing and then not coming back grr

Anyway

Done so far

Me up and dressed
DH lunch made, breakfast made
Washing in the dryer
Dishwasher emptied and started to be filled again
Sink still shiney, wiped over in kitchen
Cup of tea and played about on facebook

Still to do
Baby up and bottle, dressed and breakfast
Clean bathroom
tidy bedroom some more
put airer up and hang clothes that can't go in dryer
wash more clothes and pray for a sunny day
decide on tea plus nip to shops
put DDs clothes away that are in pile in her toy box

Thats it for now

Good luck every one...oh btw I have a mission statement for my house

"It shall always be suitable for visitors"

Thats it, simple sounding but lets see how it goes!

Countingthegreyhairs · 02/09/2009 07:42

Avada you are scaring me .... [well done though ]

Just keep your sink shining today and your shoes on and you are done!!

[I suppose having lace up shoes on precludes one from getting back in to bed doesn't it?]

Bye all! Have a good day ...

Moi?

LBAM's list - now that is scary

walkthedinosaur · 02/09/2009 07:55

Well I've got up and am sitting here in my dressing gown. Will feed the kids and then do the putting of shoes on.

GoldenSnitch · 02/09/2009 08:15

Well I've failed today already! I got up and had breakfast in my PJ's before I logged on!!

Did add to yesterday by not only shining my sink but also all the other steel bits on my kitchen too I also...

Put in 2 loads of washing and hung them on line,
Emptied dishwasher,
Bought the extra shelves I needed for my kitchen,
Bought the hacksaw blades I needed for making my new blinds shorter,
Made lunch and tidied away afterwards,
Played with DS,
Tidied away toys
Vacuumed lounge,
Made dinner from scratch,
Fed DS,
Loaded dishwasher,
Bathed DS and put to bed,
Cleaned all kitchen sideboards and swept,
Got dustbin in from road after binmen had been (and not days later like usual! )
Trimmed and fitted one blind,
Trimmed second blind - by which time it was 10.30 and time for bed...

Was woken up twice in the night by 2 year old DS who has randomly decided to wake up and scream occasionally and am 23 weeks pregnant but I'm up for trying to complete an even longer list today

Will go and get dressed now as I am picking up my friends 2 year old daughter in an hour to take her to Toddler Group as she's just had a c-section and needs a rest so I need to get started!!

LoveBeingAMummy · 02/09/2009 08:30

Snitch at least you;ve had breakfast!

GoldenSnitch · 02/09/2009 08:49

Toasted Teackaes too Yummy!

positiveattitudeonly · 02/09/2009 09:06

Well impressed with everyone, so far. Love the mission statement LovebaM.

So far I have got up, done sandwiches for DH, slipped feet into sloppy shoes (not had laceups for many years and don't intend to start now!!!)and come to work.
I leave all my DC's (5 of them) in bed and try to sort things out when I get home, before I collapse in a chair, or I never want to move again. - oh, the DC's are older, by the way. Youngest is 12, so all capable of getting themselves up, although a lot of evidence of eating and slipping back to bed by the time I get home at lunch time.
Must try to reach the bottom of at least one wash bin today.

Top of to do list is to sort out the school uniform panic trouser issue. One last, very expensive place to try, but i will have to bite the bullet and go for it. Why do kids insist on growing at such a rate!

Good luck with all those lace-ups today Wish I could see some of you! Dressing gown and lace-ups .... mmmmmmm!

Better do some work that I am being paid to do, so will catch up later.

Have only joined Mumsnet this morning - inspired by this thread. Hope it's not too late to join in...

runawayquickly · 02/09/2009 10:05

Me too Bigboots, going to do the first steps in one. Something needs to be done with this hovel I call home!!!

blissa · 02/09/2009 11:00

Morning all

Gosh some of you have achieved lots so early! We didn't get up til gone 8am (making the most of our last lie-in before having to drag the dcs out of bed at 7am tomorrow morning- not looking forward to it).

Sink is still shiny and I have wiped over the rest of the kitchen. Think I am going to have to treat my hob the same as the sink as it is always the worst bit of my ktchen. Washing machine is on and I am washed and dressed, although with fluffy slippers on not lace up shoes!

Think I will adopt that mission statement LBAM, I've often looked around my house and thought if anyone knocks on the door today I cannot let them in!

Hope you manage to sort out the trousers PA

Welcome to MN Bigboots and runawayquickly

Anyway needs to pop to the shops and get bits for lunchboxes (I hate doing them) and a scrap book for dd1 as she needs to take in a diary tomorrow of what she's done over the holidays. Also need to do labelling uniform, hoover and possibly wash the floor.

Have a good day all
