Spanking new Flybaby "nursery" thread - learn how to Fly for the month of September only

Countingthegreyhairs · 31/08/2009 13:42

Hello. Does anyone want to join/re-join us for a mutual "kick-up-the-bum" motivational thread starting tomorrow 1st September?

[Then we can join the main Flying threads thereafter if we want to.)

We did the same throughout August

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/good_housekeeping/799866-starting-tomorrow-accelerated-flying-for-month-of-Augu st-only

and it has really helped but being confirmed slatterns extreme cases we feel the need to repeat the exercise throughout September too. We need to declutter, organise, tidy and clean and generally get our lives under control.

All newcomers welcome!

Evening fellow Fledglings...

Glad you had a good birthday Tibni and happy belated anniversary Earlyonemorning. Fruitstick what a palava about your house...erm on the bright side just think of all the decluttering you have done!

Dreamteamgirl - thanks for your offer of your control journal, I may well take you up on that at some point...just seeing if one naturally falls into place of its own accord first!

CTGH - thanks . I'm not officially pregnant in RL as it is very early days. Just in that lovely nauseous and nervous phase! Thanks for letting the professionals know about the Fledglings too.

Hi to everyone else too...there are quite a few of us now .

So...strange things are afoot in the Marmite household...

The cleaners are coming tomorrow and my usual two hour tidy up the night before took about 15 minutes and I've wondered several times a day if I might only have them clean every other week. This must be working!

Another strange side-effect. DH and I agreed the declutter plan last week and it is in full swing (currently rationalising the contents of our small study area for 30 minutes per night this week). I had to tell DH to stop decluttering and have a rest!

Tomorrow night I'm going to have a lovely long bath for my pamper session .

'night all.

Morning everyone!

Last day today!!!!

A warm welcome to FlashHarriet - are you going to be joining us on the October thread??

Well done on your progress Optimistic despite feeling ill ...

Congratulations on your pregnancy too GoldenSnitch - I am sorry I didn't twig either!!

Maintaining the status quo with a sick ds is GOOD going Elliepac - hope he is feeling better today and that you catch up on some sleep

Waves hello to Blissa, HavingaGiraffe and DreamTeam

PA you never stop !!

Crikey Fruitstick that's a bit "off" isn't it? Far too casual and unprofessional... does he understand the incovenience/disruption he has caused? I'd be really furious too!! I suppose the decluttering is one positive aspect of it all but really.... I agree with Optimistic that I didn't think that sort of thing was allowed nowadays!! (Bristling with indignation on your behalf here!!)

Ahhh Mini-Marmite (broody emoticon) take it steady - tis good you did the pampering

I'll be back later tonight to post our brand new fledgling steps for tomorrow and start the new thread!!

Have a good day everyone!!

You lot should see me in real life! According to some women at DS's toddler group yesterday, I am enormous - far too huge to be just 27 weeks pregnant! cows!

I need that new thread. Going to try very hard not to loose the plot after a fortnight this time...

Morning all,

firstly a big thnk you to dreamteam for the control journal (I shall do some work to getting it right for me today) & to CTGH for running the thread. I was looking at the house this morning & thinking how much better it is looking than a month ago. There's still plenty to do, but it's a big improvement.

GoldenSnitch some people! Mind you I can remember my own mother telling me I looked too big at 17 weeks when I was pregnant with my third. Apparently when she was pregnant with me (I was her third too) know one could tell until she was at least 25 weeks

That's great snorkie, great to hear you so positive.

I'll echo what the others have said fruitstick, how very frustrating for you. We rent too and our landlord is pretty unhelpful.

Forgot about the postal strike PAO not sure there is one here, but will suggest it if card doesn't arrive tomorrow

Well here was me thinking I was doing well and then 8 year old dd1 asks me what I am going to get done whilst she is at school! "Run the hoover round? Clear the table? It's messy!" Huh Kids!

So I have done the tasks she set and washed the towels and put washing away. I will mop the floor tonight at it is raing and ther is no point when we will walk in with wet shoes later.

Hi to everyone else

Hello all,

Well we have made it through the month.

It has not been the easiest month here - sickness, dh redundant, puppy and a loft to clear but I have survived and the house is in a better state thanks to this thread.

Managed to do quite a bit this morning - ironing, tidied childrens rooms, hoovered upstairs and wiped the kitchen.

Then I had an hour at the gym - another area I need to get back in control of!

This afternoon I have pastry to make for homemade chicken pie, downstairs to hoover and I am going to attack the hotspots in my kitchen before they built up.

Next month I intend to try and look at Zones and missions as much as possible.

I have applied for a PT job at the secondary school I have casual hours in - waiting to hear if I have an interview. Fingers crossed (but not expecting too much as I think the job maybe already earmarked!)

Here's hoping you'll get an interviewblissa. Sounds like one hell of a month!
goldensnitch congrats on pregnancy - don't take any notice of cows other people. I think you are amazing to be doing this at all tbh. Congrats too marmite (shh)

Next month I think I'll be in the middle stream for flying ie: doing daily routines and decluttering in the zones.

Today I have
done morning routine
started to ascend the Everest of ironing (when you're ill and you keep up with the washing it's a problem you know!)
organised chicken fajita ingreds for tonight
taken poorlyish DD to school and cancelled afterschool thing for her.
BOOKED HAIRDO FOR SAT

Just having lunch and a rest (I sound like a little old lady )
Back later...x

Gosh how can we all be flying when we are chatting on-line so much - we really deserve extra fly lady points for that! I can't keep up.

Although finally seem to have got in my head that Goldensnitch AND Minimarmite are pregnant not too long for your GS How exciting - you two take the flying easy and excellent that Mr Minimarmite is pitching in already.

Also GS I used to HATE HATE HATE when people commented on the size/shape of my bump -cheeky woman!

Blissa lol at your DD - 8 going on 18 then I hope you are keeping up to her high standards

Fruitstick* I would've been really at your landlord and it kind of makes you wonder what is heck is going on and will he change his mind again. Keep decluttering though then if you do have to move it won't be such a huge job.

Good luck Tibni with the job, not the pastry although homemade chicken pie - lovely.

So anyway enough of all this chat - down to flying. I am proud to say I did finish my ironing last night and ironed 4 shirts and 4 normal things in 20 mins - I worked super fast. [proud emoticon]

Today I have

S&S
Made bed
Supermarket shop and put away
washing on and out on line
DW emptied and refilled
Started weekly journal of what I'm going to do on which day.
Took part in baby yoga demo at NHS AGM
Met Mum for coffee (today is was a chore as she was nagging me about giving DS food -she wants me to give him baby rice I want to do Baby-led weaning! Grrrr)

Actually that's not much really and DS is asleep so should really do something but fancy a cuppa and a piece of cake.

(Giraffe wanders to the kitchen thoughtfully)

walkthedinosaur · 30/09/2009 16:20

Haven't done much today:-

swished and swiped
load of washing
wiped round kitchen
Took DS's for swimming lessons
Made a cake for tea with DS2
Am roasting a chicken for dinner

But, but, but my very nice man came today and built me my cupboard under the stairs and it looks fab (although lacking a door which he's going to build later and fit next week) but DS2 and I spent about 10 minutes discussing what we were going to put in there - at the moment we've both agreed on the dyson and some hooks for coats. I give it a week before it's full of junk (but at least you won't be able to see it).

Best of luck with the job interview tibni and my DC's love chicken pie so I'll be making that tomorrow with left over chicken.

Are we all here tomorrow or is there going to be a new thread? I don't want to get lost but I think I'm definitely going to need some hand holding for next month.

Hello my lovelies

Have no time to catch up on all your news am afraid because have flown back home from work to sort DC's out and then have got to back to work at 5.30 for Open Evening for the Year 6's. Not going to get home until 9ish .

Just thought I would say....we made it . A month gone, and we have all made those babysteps we wanted to.

A massive thank you tp CTGH for running the thread which I think has been a massive success. Bring on October.

Well Done us (yeah)

Off back to work now (boooo)

Evenin all!! Yeahhhh everyone!!

It's lovely to read so many kind words and positive comments!! Thank you so much Ellie and Snorkie and everyone else. It's down to all of you that we have had such a successful and motivating thread.

Pats on the back all around. We HAVE done well: bugs, bumps, babies, builders, breaks, bosses, notwithstanding!!

Enjoy your cupboard Dinosaur - will link to brand new thread - don't worry we'll hold your hand!!

Sorry but psml at your "LadyPoints" HavingaGiraffe have a most disturbing picture in my mind now involving a wierd mixture of 1950s Jean Paul Gautier style bras, Tena Lady products and Co-op stamps !!! Well done on the ironing!! Ignore all weaning advice from others (including your mother if you don't mind me saying so) and go with your instincts and enjoy that cake!!

Also lol at your "little old lady" comment Optimistic, I've started keeping indigestion tablets in my handbag recently which is definitely the beginning of the end... will be joining you in the middle stream btw

Good luck with your interview tibni - you have persevered through thick and thin - well done. Save us a piece of pie!!

Blissa your 8 yr old sounds very precocious. I suggest you direct her to this!!

You could see my bump with dd coming around the corner a good 3 mins before you saw me Goldensnitch. Wouldn't have liked people commenting though. What a rude lot! Ignore 'em. And don't worry about falling off the wagon. Better to be realistic and plan for the fact that we probably will!! No "all or nothing" thinking allowed remember!

And thanks for consistently living up to your nickname Positive and spurring us all on!!

Waves to anyone else I have missed.

OK everyone, time to flap our wings, line up in an orderly queue, don't look down and edge towards the edge of the nest ......

Pie was good . We seem to eat better when I am watching my budget.

Thanks comments on the job - I have my fingers crossed I will get an interview, I should I am over qualified, but jobs are hard won in this climate. I know the school are also recruiting a higher management position with the same closing date so that will be dealt with first but the longer hearing nothing the more I doubt!

Really determined to try and follow ALL the baby steps next month (or at least read them all )
