Spanking new Flybaby "nursery" thread - learn how to Fly for the month of September only

Countingthegreyhairs · 31/08/2009 13:42

Hello. Does anyone want to join/re-join us for a mutual "kick-up-the-bum" motivational thread starting tomorrow 1st September?

[Then we can join the main Flying threads thereafter if we want to.)

We did the same throughout August

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/good_housekeeping/799866-starting-tomorrow-accelerated-flying-for-month-of-Augu st-only

and it has really helped but being confirmed slatterns extreme cases we feel the need to repeat the exercise throughout September too. We need to declutter, organise, tidy and clean and generally get our lives under control.

All newcomers welcome!

CTGH - sorry, I was writing my post when you wrote yours.

How exciting!!

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 31/08/2009 21:25

I'd like to give this a go!! I do write lists to try and keep my house clean and tidy. Although I would love to do it all without thinking about it, naturally IYSWIM

I have visited the flylady website but I was put off by the amount of emails!!

I promise I will shine my sink tomorrow

walkthedinosaur · 31/08/2009 21:30

OK I can do sink shining - will let you know how I get on.

BennyAndJoon · 31/08/2009 23:31

Oh OK... I am not signing up for the emails though - that was hellish.

I have two houses to sort out (don't ask)... but you have to promise me that nobody will ever remind me what FLY actually stands for

TeaMonster · 01/09/2009 07:03

Hello Fly peeps

I am from the main Fly thread and I would say, you dont need to get the e-mails. I joined up for the UK yahoo group and that way you get them in the UK timezone rather than the US one

Also you can make a little folder under your inbox and send them directly there!!!!

We dont all wear shoes either. Fly is great if you can get past the smaltzy stuff.

elliepac · 01/09/2009 07:14

Right , I'm in.

I am ashamed of my house . I'm a teacher and I swore to myself that over the holidays I would have it shiny and sparkling. One day left and it is still a pigsty. Too much clutter, 2 kids and a DH who creates more mess than he cleans up (or maybe I am making excuses and am just a lazy slattern )

I am off to shine my sink in accordance with instructions given (I just have to find it first under the pile of washing up left from last night ). Will report back later.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 01/09/2009 07:25

Right I made it

Off to tackle mountain of washing up and shine sink.

positiveattitudeonly · 01/09/2009 07:33

Sink is smiling at me!!

Hoover is still waiting for a little activity. (CTGH- please don't let on how many days I have been saying I need to hoover downstairs!) Will try again today. Must go and get those school trousers too. Underpants are still looking like the likely mode of schoolwear for next week for 13 yr old DS.

Have a good day all. Enjoy the last few days of the hols!

GoldenSnitch · 01/09/2009 07:42

Is it too late for me to join? I've started before but only got as far as the sink shining

MummyElk · 01/09/2009 07:52

i might just go and look at my sink a minute

seeker · 01/09/2009 08:03

Can I join too, please? I had a wonderful 6 months a while ago when I flew and it worked. I'm bumping along the runway now, unable to get off the ground!

positiveattitudeonly · 01/09/2009 08:04

Hi Goldensnitch and mummyelk, don't be shy!! If you only manage to shine your sink, that's fine. Look at it that at least you have a shinier sink than you had last week. Last month's babyfly thread we were all hopeless cases trying our best and we feel we need to take these baby steps again for another month, as we are still hopeless cases trying, so come and join in. Nobody will laugh at you and we can all encourage each other, or just have a giggle at the ridiculousness (is that a word??) of the tips on the way!!
Lace up shoes are a difinite turn off in my book! comfy slippers all the way

positiveattitudeonly · 01/09/2009 08:05

Come on in,too seeker, welcome!!

AvadaKedavra · 01/09/2009 08:09

Morning everyone, my washing up from breakfast is in the sink soaking ready to be done when I get back from pick ups

MY SINK WILL BE SHINY!!!

AvadaKedavra · 01/09/2009 08:10
deafworm · 01/09/2009 08:20

hi, id like to join you too, another lapsed flier here and a newbie mumsnetter though i registered years ago i never quite got as far as using the site till recently when i've been lurking!

i feel like i spend more time trying to clean than spending time with my girls at the moment and not doing either very succesfully so here goes.

i will shine my sink later on and try not to do what ive done every other time and jump ahead, baby steps are about all im capable of at the moment!

LoveBeingAMummy · 01/09/2009 08:23

Morning all

I am determined to get this sorted and maintained, if I can get this organised and running well then the rest of my life will follow (i hope).

So have a shiney sink, that was shined yesterday and wiped over again today

So far I have done;

emptied dishwasher and refilled
put clothes in washing machine
wiped over in kitchen and put anything away from last night
cleaned toliet
put recyling in the right bin!
made bed
got dressed
Baby had bottle

To do
Baby breakfast and dressed
clean living room and hoover
clothes hung out and more in
hoover kitchen
me breakfast
Tidy bedrom (big job for when DD down for nap)

Come on keep the faith I will get this sorted!!!!!

Good morning

Welcome one and all

Tea Monster - we are honoured by your presence - thanks for the tip

Don't be shy Mummy Elk

Sorry not to mention everyone individually but dd starts back to school today at 10 am (very civilised) so rushing a bit

Just to reiterate; here is today's baby-step (shudder at that phrase)

Ignore all the hugs and loving kindness waffle

All - I repeat "all" - we have to do today is clear and shine the sink, clean it up after every meal/snack and make sure it is shiny when you go to bed tonight. That's it!

Enjoy the rest of the day!

Hello all,

Have had a productive morning (only just logged on laptop as i'm having a coffee break which is good in itself)

Good to see so many new people on the thread

IrishDraught · 01/09/2009 12:13

I cannot see the left hand side of anyones posts so sorry I don't talk to anyone until it's sorted! Slow day today, DH was off but work rang at 10 asking him to go in [sob] so all my grand plans have gone out the window. No shiny sink yet, will have to ask DH to fetch the stuff on the way home this evening - I was so looking forward to chosing my weapons! Since I last Flew (Flyed?) I have a new sink so should be a bigger thrill this time Loaded the dishwasher so it's clear anyway for now. Sad as it may be I am going to get one of those FlYlady sink plug things Make me laugh if nothing else every morning! Hope it all goes well for everyone today, by bedtime we will all be curling up in bed with our sinks shiney!
