Come on you slatterns, get your arses in gear, I stop posting for 2 days and you all start getting lazy................

didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

  • Get my washing done
  • Dry it
  • Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
  • Tidy and hoover the lounge
  • Clean kitchen worktops
  • Empty kitchen bins
  • Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

oh - need to add shower to the list so

  • Get my washing done
  • Dry it
  • Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
  • Tidy and hoover the lounge
  • Clean kitchen worktops
  • Empty kitchen bins
  • Put dishwasher on
  • Shower
  • Get DS's ready for bed and in

as yet nothing been done - but once DS's are in bed I'll get started properly.

I don't need a thread - I need a magic fairy!

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 27/12/2008 19:03
  • don't we all

In the absense of a magic fairy each we'll have to make do with a thread

I'm glad you'll get to play at church today. I know how much you missed being able to play on Christmas Eve.

I like this thread. As much as I love Christmas I find the way 'stuff' piles up difficult to deal with. My kitchen surfaces are covered with things like bottles of sherry and boxes of choc. I'll be happy to get it all sorted out. Of course, that means I'll probably have to eat and drink them?

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 28/12/2008 08:46

lol @ having to eat and drink them.

yes it's normal morning service for me today, no Sunday school today - which means that I think DS3 is going to be a PITA (they do sometimes if he's the only one in the creche, take him down there for a bit) where he's fine - but there isn't any today so it's going to be a nightmare...........

OP posts:
Bauble99 · 28/12/2008 08:47

Can someone take him for a walk around the churchyard if he gets restless?

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 28/12/2008 08:49

they may be able to today - don't know how cold it is out there, but at least it's not raining .

Depends largely on how many other children are in the creche today, if he's the only one shouldn't be a problem, and depending on who's doing creche they may even bring him back here....

Bauble99 · 28/12/2008 08:55

Have a good day, FAQ.

I'm off to tackle that choc mountain. Also need to hose down the loo floor. I've got all boys, like you - My loo can smell like a pub gents very quickly.

SecretSlattern · 28/12/2008 09:19

I think I'll settle in quite nicely here , however...

DH is still in bed (and probably will be until midday) and MIL is staying here atm in DD's room. She too is still in bed and I can't go in there to get any clothes for the DC's. I need to clean my room, hoover around the place and dust, as well as put more clothes away and can't do any of those jobs due to sleeping .

Oh, this will be very helpful. Like a true slattern, I have been sitting here while my house swims in chaos.

Today I need to;

Shower and get dressed (we had a late night!)
Do a meal plan for the week and go shopping.
Put away about 3 loads of clean laundry and do about another 3 loads.
Hoover.
Cook.
Tidy up upstairs and give the house a good airing.
