didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

• Get my washing done
• Dry it
• Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
• Tidy and hoover the lounge
• Clean kitchen worktops
• Empty kitchen bins
• Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

Had a very bad morning, didnt get much done as I had very unexpected visitors. Have made lunch and they are now gone so now I have to:

Wash lunch dishes
Clean Kitchen
Clean Dining Area
Clean Sitting Room
Clean Hall
Have had discussion witn DS about christmas report and all is well there.
Still need to dress DD3.

I've postponed the kitchen/bahtroom floors and DS1's drawers for now.

It's FREEZING in those rooms and I'll be darned if I'm going to freeze my arse off to get them sorted - they'll wait another day or two (or three or seven )

My dream is to wake up New years day with a clean house, not too much to ask is it? Seems it is with my 4 dc

• Get DS3 changed and dressed (DS1&2 already sorted themselves) DONE
• Have a shower DONE
• Dry hair and get dressed DONE
• Load of washing DONE
• Get soup in the slow cooker
• Town (depending on DS1&2's behaviour - supposed to be spending their Christmas money today) - we'll go later this afternoon if they continue to behave
• Empty dishwasher DONE
• Count money in penny pot and bag up DONE (£19.26 in there, £5 of 10ps bagged up ))
• Dry clothes started
• Sort DS1's clothes out with him
• Wash kitchen and bathroom floors
• Dinner
• Bath boys
• Put dishwasher on

ok update - going to hae to clean my kitchen floor, there was a half finished bottle of lambrini sat on the small table near where we hang the coats (been there months

DS2 has just managed to knock it onto the floor and it smashed (very easily) on the stone tiles, so I have lambrini and glass to sort in the Utility part of the kitchen.........may as well do the whole thing when i clean it up.

Going to post the updates to todays' list, and then post a new one for this evening, it's all gone Pete Tong with the DS's tonight (well more specifically DS1&2) with them playing up, plus I unexpectedly had to clear up 1/2 a bottle of lambrinin that DS2 knocked onto the kitchen floor (quarry stone tiles so smashed into smithereens instantly). Then while I was clearing up that mess DS3 got hold o fmy tobacoo and liberally sprinkled it over the entire lounge diner, I don't actually think it's a lot - but it's well spread - so that will need clearing up too.

I've just spent the last 1 1/2hrs playing on the Wii

• clear the airer of the dry washing into the airing cupboard - DONE
• hang out the washing on the airer that I took out of the machine yesterday - DONE
• take out the current load of washing in the machine - DONE
• put in the next load of washing - DONE
• call the plumber AGAIN about the CH which still doesn't bloody well work properly (on upstairs but not downstairs and not up to temp) - DONE
• clean out the car
• vacuum and clean and vacuum again the front room carpet - it's minging!
• start collecting paperwork and filling in spreadsheets in preparation for tax return
• pay for book club books
• clean computer keyboard to unstick various sticky keys
• oil hinges on DS's bedroom door - DONE
• phone plumber AGAIN cos now the bastard hot water isn't working!!!

My loist for today is roughly as follows:

• DC's washed, dressed, fed and watered
• Take DS to doctors appt
• Go to town for some more storage boxes for the various bits of crap all over the place

-Ring tax credits people about my job and DS starting with the CM -Meet up with friend to ask her about taking and collecting DD from school once I am working

• Post Christmas thank you cards, and friend's birthday card
• Carry on gutting DD's bedroom (made a start last night and it already looks miles better)

-Bath/hair wash me, DC's for tonight!!! -Iron going out clothes and get ready to go.

So far have managed to feed the DC's and phoned the TC people which was an ordeal in itself .
