didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

• Get my washing done
• Dry it
• Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
• Tidy and hoover the lounge
• Clean kitchen worktops
• Empty kitchen bins
• Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

Right tommorow's list:

Get DC dressed and myself
Breakfast
School run
Nursery run
Clear up from breakfast
Pull sofa out and clean under it (sweep and mop) THIS WILL BE A BIG JOB
Clean shower cubicle
Tidy/clean round - DH has a friend staying overnight
Pick DC up from nursery
Make lunch
Tidy up after lunch
Have a nap
Dry washing
Put more washing on
Pick DC up from after school club
DD1 homework
Put DC to bed

today:

• boys bath & bed DONE
• tidy up after tea sort of done
• my dinner DONE
• DH going to London tonight DONE
• newspapers will look properly tomorrow
• still not got disc out of disc drive!
• make DS2 a card
• maybe take back some things...
• find pre-pg-&-bf bras in loft not there ?
• maybe sort nursery bags out started
• early night (after watching ER, 1st episode haven't had a chance yet doing sob!)

ongoing:

• think about accessories for new dress for wedding next weekend
• book restaurant for sunday lunch in london next sunday with friends
• get 2 helium balloons, one for each boy for birthday (probably Monday when i am DC-free)
• See if ELC will replace a toy that won't work even after i've changed all the batteries
• remove stuff from our room to reclaim it and find new homes for it (or get rid....) more done
• ebay lots of stuff, currently in a big box
• get rid of lots of stuff we've cleared out to freecycle/charity shop/rubbish tip
• get to 8stone 7lbs
• look up family tree stuff on new 1911 census site DOING

well I got the lounge tidy and hoovered before H came back with the DS's. He then let them show him some more games on the Wii and then suggested as the DS's aren't keen on the hot cross buns he'd let them bring that perhaps we could have a coffee and hot cross bun after they'd gone to bed.

He's just left, after we sat and watched The 40yr Old Virgin on TV together - and smoke fags (well I smoke most of them lol), and drank coffee.

We even sat next to each other, yes properly next to each other for a bit - you know me leaning on him, his arm losely around me !
