Come on you slatterns, get your arses in gear, I stop posting for 2 days and you all start getting lazy................

didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

  • Get my washing done
  • Dry it
  • Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
  • Tidy and hoover the lounge
  • Clean kitchen worktops
  • Empty kitchen bins
  • Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

ah yes, FAQ - I have to wait for this lot of washing to finish so I can hang it out too or DS won't have any "bottoms" to wear tomorrow - dammit, that's NOT on my list!

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 30/12/2008 00:32

oh just leave him in his PJ's, in the morning until his "bottoms" are dry

OP posts:
thumbwitch · 30/12/2008 00:35

heh, might just have to do that - little perisher refuses to keep his socks on, even if I put shoes on as well (they all come off) and it is too bleedin cold in this house (despite the plumber fixing the CH - yay!) to let him go barefoot. Ah well, won't be the first time and defo won't be the last that he's been in PJs until lunchtime!!

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 30/12/2008 00:38

oh - he'll live - you should feel how cold my DS3's feet are by the time I get him changed some days - like blocks of ice - but he's happy so I'm not bothered

OP posts:
thumbwitch · 30/12/2008 00:40

s'funny isn't it - I can't bear having cold feet but it doesn't seem to bother him at all... mind, he has just started walking by himself and quarry tile floors (kitchen) are even colder, which might make his walking even more unsteady than it already is!

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 30/12/2008 00:41

oh yes - we have the quarry stone tiles in the kitchen too (a very forgiving reddy/brown colour which mean I can get away without washing them for ages )- has never put DS3 off (actually any of them - apart from me )

OP posts:
thumbwitch · 30/12/2008 00:44

it sounds just like my set up, FAQ - ditto on the lack of washing them as well!
DH gets cold tootsies too and has to wear slippers, bless - anyone would think he was an old man!!

NCBirdy · 30/12/2008 09:24

Ok, a quick one to get the morning started!

Tidy Kitchen
Load Dishwasher
Tidy Lounge
Take Rubbish out
Sort mountain of wine bottles recycling
Make Pack Lunch for 12

I have been up doing my list for a while but I didn't want you all to think I was getting away without cleaning just because the relatives have landed

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 30/12/2008 09:29

ahhh see NCBirdy has already bumped the thread - in that case I shall go and make a coffee to have while I make my list
