Decluttering Thread 12

I think my last total was 25, I think I’m aiming for one a day now that I’m largely maintaining.

This morning I helped dd2 unclutter her bedroom by getting rid of 4 unwanted beauty products and dd1 has given me 5 books to go. I have chosen to donate a skirt that I loved but is pencil and dated.

Yesterday I chucked out a folder of information about sixth colleges. Dd1 is year 13 so we don’t need them anymore.

Thats 36. I can’t believe I’m ahead for the year.

Haven't posted for a week or so, but have been removing one thing here and there from circulation into my charity shop bag that I keep in the porch
Today though some propper decluttering occurred. This morning I helped DD go through her wardrobe and now have a pile to add on vinted and another for the charity shop. Then this afternoon me and DH looked through 3 storage boxes of baby clothes in the loft and reduced it to 2 to keep. Also replaced the seat on DDs office chair with the one we had in the loft for 6 years.

Charity shop: travel mug, 6x tops, 28x baby clothes, 2x baby toys, 1x book, 1x baby bedding
Bin / recycling: unused shower puff, 3x OOD food, 4x fabric, 1 baby toy, 1 tupperwear, 2x odd socks, broken office chair seat
Vinted/sold locally: book, scarf and glove set

I have had a bit of a quite few weeks on the decluttering front. However I'm up to 180 items for Jan so on target. I have some planning things distracting me and now ds has his dla got from high to low rate mobility so I have to appeal that. Still confident I will get that reinstated but still both things are a pita.

I had a clean of a bathroom. Shelve and threw out a fash wash that's tube had perished. I really really really want some socks but I'm sitting on my hands. I need to get down to under 14 pairs which might take the rest of my life. Also saw some lovely slippers in the sale but again I need to get down to one pair which again could take years as I have about six pairs of slippers. I'd love a capsule wardrobe.

I have found 12 items that I’d classify as rags - old underwear mainly. So my new total is 48.

i have about 3 bags of stuff now ready for the charity shop.

Whoops. I'm so bad at consistency. I'd love to say I've been hard at work behind the scenes but I would be lying to us all. I made some progress last week at least, so I'm logging what I remember.

After a quiet Sunday I was unusually motivated last night and set to in the kitchen. Chipped plates, excess bakeware, unused recipe books, the fork nobody ever wants to use - lots of random bits.

Some out of date protein powder, a giant jigsaw that we didn't do but did lose a few pieces of so no good for giving away and a tin of open paint that is too old to be any good.
I do feel it's all a bit haphazard but going in the right direction. Going to get rid of some of the dried food stuff we have, as even though I don't think it matters that it's out of date, the fact is we clearly aren't using it. So maybe go through the kitchen food cupboards tomorrow.

Sorted through some more old baby stuff, the contents of one bedroom drawer, and listed some stuff on vinted from last weekends efforts that's already sold!

Posted a light up magnifying make up mirror on Vinted & it sold in minutes! Still reckon I might be pricing some things too low. Will package it up today & take it to the lockers.

Got back on track yesterday. Tidied a shelf of miscellaneous bits and pieces, and had space for a box of craft supplies.

Emptied a tub of school artwork and ancient Christmas cards. Some now binned, some in cupboard.

Some stuff has sold on vinted and I've gone through the stuff that hasn't had much interest and got rid of that to the charity shop.
