Decluttering Thread 12

Sorted through some of my craft stuff today, I have cleared 1/3. I am going to go through the rest tomorrow after sleeping on the decision to either get rid of it all or make a couple of things first. If I do decide to make a few things first, I am giving myself a week deadline. If the stuff isn't made by next Friday then it is out!
I have found two dc jackets that need washing and then they can be donated and about a dozen books.
This late night burst has filled another laundry baskets worth of stuff so 9/52.
I have also got rid of a carrier bags worth of paper recycling but am not counting that.

Went through daughter’s bedroom while she was at school and got rid of a few little bits so I’ll count that as 1.

I have had the flu for the past almost week, and I've sold some stuff on vinted whilst totally bed-ridden and today is the last day to post them. Will try to heave myself the house later

A bag of clothes has gone out with the recycling this morning.

I made a capsule wardrobe for spring by shopping my own wardrobe. Then I tried it on and discovered some didn't fit that well, some wasn't the best colour, some I didn't like the fabric really. So I decluttered those and made a better one.

Had someone collect some sports equipment we don't use that I'd given away on facebook.
And threw away the remote for the old tv.

So I have bought myself a dryrobe type thing off Vinted for dog walking. I have a spaniel so must be out lots every day 😅🫣 & fed up of getting drenched in my “waterproofs” while my friend in her robe thing is all toasty. I’m ashamed of myself but the need to not be wet & cold is stronger. I have also bought new motorbike trousers & jacket off there to replace my current older stuff. Old gear is in a box in the front seat of the car to be donated after work today, alongside a couple of tops that are too big

Sold a Temu dress on Vinted.

Kitchen appliance I don't use has been sold and collected.
And I have given away some books and sports clothes to a grateful friend.
Put a couple more things up on marketplace.
It's a bit of a gradual process but it is going in the right direction.

I’ve decluttered my husband’s car. Does that count? We had lots of things in the boot ready to go to the charity shop and he’s been driving round with the stuff in his boot as he’s never home early enough to go to the shop and drop it off, so today we swapped cars and I went on my way home.

3 boxes of unused kitchenware / unopened hand creams and other nice bathroom smellies I can’t use because I’m allergic, 2 bin bags of clothes and a bag of shoes.

No idea how many things as they were packed away ages ago so can’t count but the car is clutter free!

I think you get bonus points for that job. I swear me and my husband drive around with charity donations in our car for months at times.

Aw! Thank you! It’s been in there a while. It’s so hard to rid of things. If I could just chuck everything in the bin it would be so much easier and I’d get rid of so much more.

Morning all - another Vinted sale ( Per Una evening cardigan). Looks like I will be getting the Cath Kidston brolly back as the buyer hasn’t collected it.

I agree, double points for things like cars, storage units, even handbags. They are the hardest.

Coincidentally, I’ve just emptied the last box out of our store!

I find this so frustrating and wish non collecting buyers got automatic negative feedback! I had to wait nearly 8 weeks to get refunded when a buyer didn’t collect and then InPost lost the parcel on its way back to me!

Anyway - slow progress today. Game donated

I was talking to someone today about it and she has pit all the bags in her car boot back in the house as she needed her boot. I really felt for her as she said she hadn’t thought about dropping the things off rather than putting them back in to the house. The brain fog is real!

The brolly was finally collected today!

2 items out via Vinted today and 4 to go tomorrow.

I've not really done a lot over the last few weeks, I've been away with work and super busy when home. Some things have made it out such as a few Vinted sales and I've got better at chucking things when I find them like manky 10 year old lipglosses etc! Also did clean out my coat pockets, not that you would know that now already.

To share a decluttering win, as I said I've been away but the house really hasn't fallen into a huge mess considering I've not been putting in to tidying etc. Having less stuff really does help here!
