Decluttering Thread 12

Whatever your speed or method, whether it’s a few shelves, a couple of boxes or entire attics, rooms, or garages, come here and share both your successes and your struggles. There’s support and commiserations, and lots of good ideas.

Also I donated two outgrown pairs of wellies to school this morning, which were already counted but had been sitting at the bottom of the stairs for several weeks!

W/E 26/4 Week 17
Aiming for at least one item per day.

Stuff used up and not replaced
Travel shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, hand cream sample, wound tape, soap.
Recycled/binned
Zit patches, plastic medication dispenser. (Loads of empty foil medication packets which I will count as I recycle them at Boots; going to take a while!)
Charity shop
Bag almost full, hope to drop off this week.
Vinted
Found more stuff to list, must get on with it!

Had a productive weekend. DC watched a film and I sat on the floor going over papers. I don't count paper, but I was happy to see a decent pile which included xmas cards, birthday cards, appointment letters and all sorts.

Bag for life to the charity shop today: a big glass vase, 3 of DH trousers, his shirt and raincoat; 3 of my t-shirts, joggers, blazer and cardigan, makeup bag.
also out a set of allen keys, old oyster card, 2 cat toys, and very dusty old vaseline. I was also thrilled that someone wanted our old potty (thoroughly scrubbed!)

Only things in are a promo CD and a coat for DC I bought for DC for autumn as it was a great deal

I put a tray in the charity shop bag yesterday as the lip is very low so I always feel like the mugs of tea will slide off. Only a cheap one from The Range.

DD17 has said she will sort through the mountain of clothes at the top of the stairs & that there will probably be a lot to put on Vinted.

I'm back. Clearing out my locker this week. Ekk! That's all the toys I need to clear out

7 x unsuitable blouses
1 x shirt I don't like
1 x dress I have nowhere to wear
1 x hairspray used up
2 x jumpers I never reach for
1 x pair trainers that squeeze my toes

A pair of compression socks i used when giving birth, and a pair of tights in bin. Also gave away a pair of shoes I had only used about twice. Tbh I thought I had already decluttered them!

Not a lot so far this week. One of the boys PlayStation games has sold & been posted. I’ve got to buy a particular coloured top for a funeral though so will have that as a swap item.
threw a couple more dog toys away & some bits of bone he’s had stashed somewhere 🤢
i was going to take all of my vinted bits down at the weekend but then 2 randomly sold on Sunday so they have another week up

Created a small bag of things to donate to the May fair bric a brac stall. Keep erring about a particularly nice ceramic trinket tray. Which has been in the cupboard for probably 10 years still in its box so might even make a good raffle prize.

Thanks for the new thread! I just realised I've been on since thread 3. I wish I could dig it out to see how far I've come.
