Please help! I've ruined my daughters whitefox hoody

So it was my daughters 11th birthday Friday she asked if she could have a whitefox hoody as one of her presents. I bought it in January and took weeks to pay it off on klarna. She wore it twice over weekend and had a few marks on it so instead of washing the whole hoody to try and keep it in good condition for longer I tried to spot stain the marks and I didn't rinse out the stain remover properly and then stupidly put it out on the line to dry in the sun and when I went to get it in to my horror it had big bright yellow stains dotted all over it! 🙈 she's crying, I'm crying because I can't afford a new one. I'm so gutted .
I've washed it 3 times since, tried vinegar and more laundry detergent on it and still no different.

Any help and advice to get these out would be gratefully received. Thanks guys .

I don't think that's fixable, sorry - chemical reaction. What stain remover was it?

dahliadiva · 14/04/2025 08:24

Make a bucket of warm water, dissolve 2 scoops of Vanish powder in it. Submerge hoodie and leave for 24 hours. Wash as normal 😊

HouseOfHaribo · 14/04/2025 08:26

I don’t know if this helps or not but Hacoo do excellent fakes (my DD’s friend has some and I would never have known the difference, she showed me t-shirts, shorts and a hoody and they seemed to be the same quality)

Sunshineandrainbow · 14/04/2025 08:26

Oh my goodness I can feel your pain.

Try the vanish soak.

I really hope it works.

Jackrussellsaremad · 14/04/2025 08:26

Oh no OP! I'm sorry! Typical..I ruin all my nice clothes by doing something like that. I suspect if it's been bleached in its not going to come out. I appreciate it's easy to say but can you get another? There's a clearance sale on at the moment and if your DD is 11 the children's stuff might be cheaper?

Alternatively try and dye the whole thing although the logo might be tricky..

HouseOfHaribo · 14/04/2025 08:28

And I wonder if washing again and then leaving in sunlight might help? I’ve had a few light items of clothing that still had light stains on after washing, but a couple of days in the sun and they seemed to disappear completely.

Overthebow · 14/04/2025 08:29

Sorry op if it’s been bleached by the stain remover it probably won’t come out. Worth trying the varnish though anyway. Could you get another secondhand like on Vinted?

It was a mixture of a astonish spray and a elbow grease soap bar type. So annoyed with myself . Thanks for commenting

Yes I've bought some tshirts and shorts from there before and they were really good copies. She really wanted the grey marl and bright coral logo one for her birthday so I didn't mind getting it. Just feels like a waste of a jumper if I can't get them out .

I did look straight on vinted but this one is a newish edition so not likely they will be on there yet.

I think it might be the elbow grease that has stained it,the bar is yellow isn't it ? Try soaking it again then washing the whole hoodie, you might need to just buy her another one I appreciate they are expensive though .

Before you try any other products, can I ask if you have line dried it in the sunshine? If not try washing on a rinse and spin cycle, no detergent. Then if you can line dry in direct sunshine for a full day. This has worked for me on seemly indelible oxy bleach marks on towels that were left on a radiator to dry.

edit sorry I’ve just seen that you HAVE line dried.

She's in a women's size 14 bless her. I'll try the varnish soak and see what happens . I did look on YouTube about dying garments but I'm afraid of messing it up further

Yes probably best not to. How annoying though! It's always the clothes that are important that get ruined.

with the stains as it is will she wear it? If no then the dying is worth a go as you’ve nothing to loose .

Oh no! I really feel your pain. Coincidentally I did exactly the same thing to dds white fox sweatshirt. Bought it as a Christmas present , a few weeks later left some vanish on it too long and ruined it. I ended up having to replace it and kicking myself. Such an unnecessary waste 😩
Im usually pretty good with laundry stuff and rarely have accidents. It had to be that and not some old thing that got ruined.

Roselilly36 · 14/04/2025 08:46

I would soak the top in bucket with salted water, to loosen the stain, and then wash with usual detergent and Napisan, Napisan is really good on stains. And repeat if necessary, do not let the top dry if the stain is still there. Good luck.
