hello, i'm here looking for recommendations on how i can make my laundry smell so good for days onwards, kind of like when someone walks past you and you can smell their fresh laundry , As of now i'm using the fairy pods along with the matching comforter and scented boosters, and dont get me wrong it smells amazingg , and i love it the only problem i find is the dry down. When my clothes dry down its either the smell is non existent or just faint and i want that scent to linger, any tips on what brands i should use or what i should do to make it smell strong for days on wards ?

You just can't smell it anymore on your own clothes

Tulipvase · 15/03/2024 20:51

We swapped to powder recently and it has a stronger smell.

Please don't. No-one else wants to smell your clothes or be breathing in the horrible chemicals required.

Clothes just need to be clean.

Why would you want to smell of laundry detergent? Surely perfume is nicer?

I hate it when people’s houses smell of laundry powder. It’s actually the fabric softener. Awful stuff.

You might want to Google what phthalates are. Do your own and your family members' fertility a favour and don't aim to cover yourself in chemicals for no reason.

effoffwind · 15/03/2024 20:55

What's wrong with you all ? 😂😂

I love the smell of fresh laundry

I love an Aldi coconut liquid wash and can smell it on my uniforms every day

banjaxedeejit · 15/03/2024 20:56

Get rid of the pods and use powder

I thought you were going to say she drove a Vauxhall Zafira.

I tried the bold & lenor daffodil & vanilla fragrance set last year, it was a lovely smell, like a high end perfume but it was so strong that it was a bit overwhelming if I had to dry my laundry indoors .It did last a long time though, I noticed when I got things out of the drawers or wardrobe to wear I could still smell it.

MadamVastra · 15/03/2024 20:56

I tell you what I dried out on the line for the first time yesterday and every year I forget how good it makes the clothes smell even though I use the same products when I dry inside

Oh God this!

I've bought stuff off vinted where folks clearly love these vile laundry stink things and you can smell it as soon as the inpost locker swings open. It’s vomit worthy.

This, I absolutely hate smelling fabric conditioner or whatever else on people’s clothes it makes me feel queasy.

43ontherocksporfavor · 15/03/2024 20:58

Fresh laundry dried on the line smells lovely. Overly perfumed detergents are not the smell of fresh laundry.

Ugh yeah I often buy from Vinted too and completely agree, can’t get stuff in the wash quick enough when I can smell it as soon as I open the package.

I use Tallow & Ash Duvet Day laundry detergent and conditioner and it's lovely. A very fresh cosy laundry scent. I also like their Bahamas one too. They do a sample pack to try out their different fragrances.
