So this is my thread. I'm circling the drain, descending into CHAOS and this is my kickback. And I'm dragging you lucky people along for the ride 😁.

This is FlyLady. It's a system for sorting your shit out. It works, but only if you do it. It doesn't work so good if you only think about doing it. So get off your butts and clean some shite, people! 🧹🧴🧽🧼

We're fighting CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) 🧑‍🤝‍🧑🚫. You can't clean clutter so you've got to declutter 🗑️, which isn't as daunting as it sounds 🦧 because it's only 15 minutes a day. Your house didn't get skanked up overnight 🏚️ 🦠 so it's not getting de-skanked overnight either 🏠. We won't judge how skanky your house is because we are too are skank-sisters 🧟💩🦟, but trying our hardest to become blessed Queens 👸🤴 of our domestic realms, with varying success please don't sue me if you prefer to identify as a unicorn 🦄 or whatever, you're still welcome. With FlyLady as our inspiration 🧚. Be kind to yourselves and do whatever you can. Baby steps 🐾(FlyLady has those on her website), follow them.

meh, me time will happen in December. Too much to do, no time to rest, and no holiday again this year. It happens. On a plus note will be significantly closer to getting the building work finished so we are only left with top up decorating moving forwards. It will be so nice.

Well it's official, we are on the road, moving DD to the big city 😭 it's only a couple of hours away, but still!
There's not much for ta das, other than moving a bunch of stuff around and out of the house.

Maybe I'll be back on later with some ta das 🤷‍♀️

Well DD is officially in her apartment and we are back on the road!
Once we're back home I'll be able to get the spare room set up properly and move other stuff around.
I also need to finish my grocery shopping list and go shopping, mostly for dinner tonight, and the next 2 nights. We are going camping for almost a week so we'll need to do another shop for that, but DH will have to come with me for that trip.

I had a long lie this morning, thinking I would benefit from the indulgence, but ended up feeling a bit muggy. Probably because the sun was blazing through the curtains by 7am

I'm having a relaxing day now, doing little more than basic tidying, and gathering laundry piles together for tomorrow's lols. Had a snooze in the afternoon, and felt refreshed after.

Gradually working through the teen's shelves in the living-room. Teen has sorted through and discarded some of the artwork, and taken a few bits and pieces upstairs to relax with before bedtime, which seems a healthy sign to me.

I'll do a wee bit more this evening.

Today's plan for me is to gather as much garden waste as possible from various piles around the garden. The brown bins are emptied this coming Friday, and I want them filled to the top if at all possible. There's a lot of overgrown bushes etc, and I'll be constantly cutting stuff back all summer regardless of whether it's the right time of year to do so. I get irrationally excited about filling my garden waste bins!

Today's plan was to scrub and treat the new (2nd hand) chicken coop with DP But as it's hitting 27° today I'm going to be decluttering and tidying indoors instead.
He's not happy about it, but he likes the heat, whereas I'm ginger and burn and get migraines.
My house is like an icebox all year round.
We're about to go fence off an area in the field which is in the shade until about 4pm for the horses and make sure they've got plenty of water.
A short dog walk before the temperature rises.
Drench my pot plants.
Talking of bins, our recycling day got changed from Thursday to next Monday. I hadn't brought the bin back in, went to put some more cardboard in it yesterday and someone had put their leftover fish and chips in it, complete with half a tray of mushy peas. It stank of rotten fish.
My green bin was 10' away, the chip shop has a bin outside 20' away. Lazy oiks need some Flylady in their lives! 😄

Our garden waste bin collection day got moved recently so it’s not on the same day as the other bins any more, its annoying as we keep forgetting to put it out even with phone reminders and I’m like @Scourgify I make it my mission to keep it full.

The building and decorating is finished apart from the flooring which won’t be for another couple of weeks unfortunately, so we can’t get the house back in order totally yet but at least we don’t have tradespeople arriving at 8am every day for a while. They have all been very friendly and as unobtrusive as possible but when they are working on the hall, stairs and landing it is quite difficult to stay out of each others way. Having said that I have got two more coming this week to repair the water softener and central heating but those are quicker, middle of the day jobs.

I had a bit of a blitz of the kitchen yesterday, have gone totally off-plan WRT Flylady for the last few weeks but hoping to get back to it now.

Outside turned out to be far too hot and humid here, so I did a bit of a sort and tidy, and a laundry catch-up. Will try the garden again tomorrow.

I am not a heat lover at all but really needed to plant out cucumbers, harvest strawberries and water the allotment this afternoon, I did not enjoy that at all and then we had a huge thunderstorm an hour later and the temperature plummeted. Oh well. Night all.

Home blessings day today. Time to get everything shipshape with the one hour basics

The habit this month is drinking water especially important if you've got the heatwave but don't drink so much you depleted your sodium levels other electrolytes. If you drink water and feel worse than before you drunk it, go eat crisps and drink isotonic drinks instead. Stay safe people

Zone is bathroom and one other room (you pick which) and the mission is to do a quick dash round decluttering the bathroom

Anyway, we're having leftovers for dinner tonight and I plan on relaxing the rest of the evening. I may wash the handwash dishes though (there's only 2 things!)

DS washed one lol today while I was out, and both him and DH did some rearranging now DD isn't living here anymore.

Scourgify thank goodness for the breezes 🌬️, even the cat 🐈 lay sprawling on the manhole cover 🕳️ tonight as flat as a pancake (instead of in my tub of plants 🤬)

We must have been on the edge of the storm Hazel because we had the thunder ⚡ occasionally but no rain 💧

Tuesday is plan and play day. So meal planning 📋, weekly planner 📑, things to remember this month 📝 etc then you get to slowly melt into the paddling pool do something fun 🌞

The mission today is to scrub your bathtub 🛁 and shower 🚿, spray and wipe the tiles/door with glass cleaner. It doesn't have to be perfect and it doesn't matter if you don't have specific 'bathroom' products, use whatever you have to hand

How is everyone coping with the weather, as a ginger I'm marking myself safe, just about 😆

@DitzyDaffodils I've only just realised that what I call my morning routines are nothing like the Flylady's!
I pull back my duvet to air the sheet and that's it in the house before I go out.
I got back from the field yesterday to find DP had cut back our laurel hedge, it's about 60' long, and has needed doing for ages. So I spent about an hour helping him clear it up, and that was far too much sunshine for me!
Then off to stock up on animal feed and stopped for a lovely pub lunch on the way home.
Today's todo list is:
Pot up my new plants.
Do a rain dance.
A LOL
Put away the LOL I did last week.
Put away the stuff I took out of my suitcase after I cancelled my trip.
Do another rain dance because the first one was unsuccessful.
Anything else is a bonus.

One thing i like about the fly lady system as she gives you guidance to get you started but you are completely free to mix and match it to get what works for you.

I have heat stroke. my body shuts down completely at this heat and cannot even consider food or a lot of fluids during the day. It is a nightmare but as long as i remember the rules. eat before 10am eat after 10pm i am good. There are ways to get around it with electrolytes. But it is not a fun time.

We have engineering work on the street. So far i have had to move my car several times, and suspect will have to move it a couple more yet. not helped by the fact it is really loud out there which makes concentrating hard, and i have to be in the house for various stupid reasons.

So i figured if studying is not going to happen i would get on with taming the mess. So far i have:
2 loads of washing on the line, 3rd load in the machine
the dishwasher running
cleared out the under stairs cupboard for the building work later this week
been impressed with the teenager who got himself up and out to college and then text me about today's nonsense to remind me
watered the plants in my bedroom and gave them a tidy up
Stuck toilet cleaner in the cloakroom loo, covered the sink in cleaner and realise there is no cleaning cloth.
Get distracted from hunt for cleaning cloth.

I fixed the garage door problem this morning which means my car will be less like an oven.

Primary school has its trip today. Polos and shorts.

Secondary teen refuses to take off jersey or wear thin tights in case they (boys) see her body. Apparently it's okay for boys to take off their jerseys "because they're normal". Sigh...

My intention today is laundry and tidying.

@HillsBesideTheSea I hope you feel better soon, I'm prone to heatstroke if I'm not careful, it's horrible.
I've had a good tidy up of my socks and undies drawers, I've now got a little pile on my chair that I'm going to wear and decide if they're comfy or need binning.
Put my LOL away, got a load on the line and one in the machine.
Went to pot up my new plants to find that we left the bag of compost we bought yesterday at the shop.
Now I'm just procrastinating and wondering what to have for brunch.

Cherry oh no! I bet if you go back with your receipt you can just pick up what's yours. I'm sure they will know you didn't take it with you, hopefully anyway.

hills I'm sorry to hear the heat is affecting you so badly. You could try putting a cool damp cloth across the back of your neck if you're overheating. That helps me anyway.

Scourgify teenage girls are like a breed of their own aren't they? One day she'll look back and say, what was I thinking?!

Ditzy thank you for the links! I will be camping though so not going to do much flying. I will be trying to keep the camper somewhat clean though, so sweeping will probably happen multiple times a day!

Last night we were working on getting a few things in the camper (clothes etc) and we will be going grocery shopping today for food for camping. We are heading up today and planning to stay until Sunday, so this will be a long trip. My ILs will be coming up tomorrow night as well. I'm excited to get away again. Hopefully the weather will be better this time. Today is supposed to be the worst for showers and storms 🤷‍♀️ we'll see.

I stripped my bed off yesterday ready to put my summer bedding on (of course winter will arrive as soon as I've done that), TLDR I hadn't made the bed so slept in the spare room.
Lucky I got rid of all the piles of clothes so the floor and bed were clear.
@BloomingHazel it should be OK, I bought another one from Aldi so I'm hoping for a credit note.
Today I'm going to:
Declutter a few more clothes, aiming to fill one bag.
Get rid of toiletries that I don't use from bathroom.
General tidy and vacuum.
Some LOLs, but it's bedding so easy to put away 😆
