Morning! Found you all. Happy New Year!

So while the house sleeps I have taken some of the Xmas decs down. Going is one bag of unwanted baubles and all the window stickers that are a pain because they keep falling off. Gone along with two sets of intermittently working lights.
Also gone 1 fleece and 3 jumpers that I noticed when I hung my new fleece up last night.
Hoping I can keep up this momentum 😁

Into the bag to go this morning has gone a pair of swimming shorts and a swim nappy cover that are too small for DS. DM is hopefully coming to pick up the pieces from the bookcase I dismantled yesterday as she wants the wood to burn.
Think that will be my lot for today as had a horrible night and really not feeling it today.

I am here . Will ask DH to take the 3 large storage boxes worth to charity shop this weekend so I can start filling them up again with stuff from the attic room and I think we can add some more food items into the foodbank load too . I think I’ll head back to the attic room today even though I don’t yet have more boxes I think I can look through / unpack a few cardboard ones and there’s the kids cloth boxes to look through also thinking I’ve spotted a few books left over from DD birthday party bags that can go , outdoor candle holders I’ve changed my about etc that can go . Might go back to bed first though ,the house is still quiet !

Oh yes and a candlestick that’s too big for my candles , too tall to store in any of my cupboards and a lone sample since the other one arrived broken can go to charity too !

Please can I join? This week I have: taken 3 bags of DS' clothes to a friend with a younger DS, taken one bag to the food bank, and taken one bag to the charity shop (mainly unwanted and unopened Christmas presents). I'm also organising as I go, and spent NYE clearing out the cupboard under my sink - got rid of some unnecessary things and now what we do need is in easy-to-access storage containers!

Morning everyone! Thank you @Mommabear20 for setting up the new thread.

I felt that I didn’t achieve much in 2021, but someone on the old thread mentioned looking back over their list of stuff they got rid of, and when I looked back at the list I kept of things that I decluttered, I can see that I did quite a bit!

We are both still ill (waiting for PCR results), so no decluttering likely over the next few days. It’s so frustrating as I know that once I’m back at work next week and into the work/ school run/ childcare treadmill, I won’t have the energy to tackle much. While one thing a day is better than nothing, there are some areas where I need to spend a couple of hours really getting into it.

Back to my decluttering this morning. Christmas cards in recycling apart from the one glitter one. This includes some I kept from last year to 'follow up' but never did! Will also take the decs off the tree and wait for return of DC from NYE party to shift tree to outside.
Decluttered other DC to new home in big city on Friday so have a bag for the charity shop of clothes they sorted before packing.

Morning. I will start on my sort your life out pack up and ship out to storage method today. Bought some clothes in the sake that I'm going to return this week as most look awful.

I need to declutter some weight too!

I'm going to start on the youngest twos clothes as ds9 needs his respite case repacked. Then it's the living room ok!

Can I join? Last 21 months been tricky and I want 2022 to be more positive for me. I started yesterday with the Christmas returns - 6 items with 3 different return methods - but all boxed, wrapped and already left the house. Today tackled the bathroom - some rubbish binned but 3 more lots onto Freecycle (claimed but not gone). Now off to take the pile of old towels that are past saving to the clothes recycling bin.

Not done much yet today, but I will be finishing packing the xmas decs first.

One decluttered item sold yesterday so will pack that ready for Tuesday.

Yesterday I got rid of five items from my wardrobe - two will be for sale, two for charity shop and 1 for the clothing bank.

I hope to declutter the rest of my clothes today and list any worthwhile on Vinted.

Tomorrow is tip day, so will also pack that up in the car, that will feel like a big relief as those items take up a lot of space in my spare room.

Today's effort has been going through the present/card storage area. Bought three boxes for cards - one for Christmas, one for birthdays and one for misc. I've got rid of all old cards without envelopes, random old packaging/paper and a whole bag of cards I had been given and kept over the years for sentimental reasons. That was tough but needed doing.

I've chucked a bag full of Christmas magazines from as early as 2014 to now. This is a big one for me I feel because I love Christmas and always say to myself I'll flick through them before the ones for that year come out but I never do.

Ooh can I come back please? I was on some of the one thing a day threads under various names. Have lapsed with decluttering, managed to get our living room sorted in time for the new sofa but the rest of the house is still awful!

not what you need to hear but my non hoarder mum always had national geographical, good housekeeping, and some 80s parenting magazines saved and we loved them strange children 🤫
