Calling all fledglings, newbies and lurkers to the September FlyLady thread! Join us as we try to sometimes rather loosely follow FlyLady’s routines to steer us gradually towards clean and tidy homes and organised lives, with lots of nattering and support along the way.

The more the merrier, so please feel welcome to join. I’ll post daily links to try to keep us on track, and I’ll explain the system as we go if we have any newbies. If there’s anything you’re not sure about please ask. The website is here but be wary of signing up to the emails. There are lots.

Congratulations Castle! I can completely relate. Im due around new year and just had no energy all summer and let the house spiral out of control. I’ve got some motivation back but also suffering with insomnia and sickness. Yak.

Dancing hope your dad’s op goes snooty and he has a quick recovery.

Ooh sounds like the kitchen is almost done ED.

It is indeed errand day, and the mission is to dust the dining room including cobwebs and the light fitting. I really do need to do my light fitting, however completing today’s shift at work is all I’m aiming for today!

I will say once dc6 was born i felt SOOOO much better and able to do things! Like superwoman. Hopefully you all have the same!

zoo i do think sciatica is ususally down the back of your leg (thats where mine was anyway)

DH has shooting pains down the front of his leg and they class that as sciatica I think.

Sorting the downloads didn’t take as long as I thought so I need to get on with more stuff now.

So DH doesn’t have therapy till next week after all. Annoying as I could’ve fitted my tutoring in today after all but oh well, gives me longer to prepare.

Castle ooh another thread baby, congratulations! There must be something in the water. Is this your fourth, or have I misunderstood? How old are the others? Good luck to DD2 for her first day at pre-school today.

Up don't worry about not making Last Weekday At Home With Mummy special - I doubt if DD will notice! (None of mine did) Is she excited about starting school?

Flower glad DS1 is excited about starting nursery. Hope you can find a boys name you like. We gave DSs 1 and 2 three names each 🤷🤦 and were properly stuck for DS3 for a while. In the end we asked the bigger DC for their suggestions, although they were a bit older and suggestions were mostly sensible 😁.

Zoo sorry about leg pain and Lil zoo refusing what you'd cooked. Hope DD2 is better later on. We had to get Mefenamic acid from the GP for DD, as she gets crippling pain too, then either vomits or faints (or, if we're really lucky, both!).

ED that's a long list! Glad you got some more kitchen unpacked. What kitchen tiles have you decided on?

I'm sure there were more personals, but my brain won't go. Will content myself with 🍒👋 to Hazel, Yup, Mc, Red, Hope, SC, Hills, Honey, merryhouse, MrsTidy, Goth, foxes and any other lurkers, newbies and people who have fallen out of my head (sorry).

I had a client meeting yesterday and did too much so I am staying in bed for this morning at least,and not even bringing my computer up to work. Leg is generally sore and I woke myself up in the night a couple of times stretching a tweaking my stitches.

Apply soothing words to DD who has to go into school tomorrow for "fun and enriching team-building activities" 🤮😱. They are so not our her thing
Send email to school SENco and Head of Sixth Form with all DD's diagnoses and a stern warning to Get It Right This Time disguised as a cheery "just ensuring we're all on the same page".

Oh zoo what a pain re: conflict of interest, but at least he flagged it. I was once referred to a counsellor who was a Mum in DS1's form and the GP couldn't see the issue at all! Hope it can be sorted out.

I have just done an out of date sweep of kitchen provisions and have found quite a few out of date tins and spices. I'm stocking up now like a mad squirrel for Autumn baking and cooking. I have identified gaps in the larder and have made a solemn pledge to use up left overs and keep an eye on things so they don't go to waste.

I'm going through medications now and mercifully the freezer has already been done.

Then I'm off to do an online shop and also work out a Flylady/organised mum (TOMM) hybrid system because I think leaving a full clean of bathrooms to a zone week is not working for us. Also I like focussing on an outside space occasionally so I want to build that in. Maybe I'll call it FLYTOMM 😁

Dancing I hope your dad's op goes well. Take care of yourself and trust the medical staff. It's what they're trained for.

I like the flytomm idea hope it’s good to take what works from various systems and build our own routine!

Had a rather slow hour or so earlier, but between us we have finally figured out what’s happening today and managed to get a bit more of the to do list done.

I kinda do a swishy clean with floor clean weekly but a deep clean every bathroom zone week. I think I might deep clean the bathroom one week and the shower room the next week on rotation. Cloak room can be done quickly every week.

Oh no, Hills, has it just tripped it, or is it indicative of a wider issue?

there was a little bit of water splash when i was putting some veg into a pot to par boil. So if lucky it is just a little water in an unfortunate location that has shorted the cooked. But not going to test that until after 5pm when decisions need to be made about tea. Rest of the power is back on, just not power to the cooker and microwave. Of course this is where it turns out to be the microwave and not the cooker, but i am not sure that I am that lucky.

Current mood - cranky, grumpy, over tired.

Promised pizza pick up and eat at nature reserve later.ds terrified I will be totally immobile by tom then it won't happen,so HAVE to do it today his logic concepts are pointless to argue over,so a stagger to dominoes followed by drag leg to nature reserve it is a bit later...

But we can't do take out, can't even eat out cos ALLERGIES....
I have options. People will be fed. But it requires, thought, effort and not original plans
