Calling all fledglings, newbies and lurkers to the September FlyLady thread! Join us as we try to sometimes rather loosely follow FlyLady’s routines to steer us gradually towards clean and tidy homes and organised lives, with lots of nattering and support along the way.

The more the merrier, so please feel welcome to join. I’ll post daily links to try to keep us on track, and I’ll explain the system as we go if we have any newbies. If there’s anything you’re not sure about please ask. The website is here but be wary of signing up to the emails. There are lots.

Thanks lovelies. Bit overwhelmed now so I think the rest of the day will be a write off really. Luckily I don’t have anything else to do, DS’ tap lessons don’t start till next week. DH is taking DD1 to her doctors appt later, that’s about it. So I’m giving myself some proper time off now.

I will have to sort the bed out later though, because I shoved AAAAALL the things on there to neaten the zoom background!

Sing hope you get it but if not think of it as one step closer next time. Can you get out for a walk to clear your head a bit?

Willow glad you can have a proper wash now. DH is noticing mess because you are not the invisible fairy at the moment. Tell Flylady says it won’t clear itself. Can be available for digging!

That can you get out for a bit fresh air might help everyone for half an hour.

Fiddle oh nightmare! I would ring the shop in case there is an off cut and see I’d it would be possible to put piece in. Mat over the top?

Fingers crossed. DH is now doing as told via NHS website pity he can’t listen to his wife! Not sure how long it will last.

Errand day need to get DS2 to get chicken breast from butcher and drop off to us so I can make soup for his brother. It is his day off. Technically I can go out but feel we should stay in longer to make sure nothing develops. Last year we wouldn’t be allowed and DS1 thinks he got it from work as he hasn’t been anywhere else as they were so busy. Munro walking was planned for next week.😕

Getting up now as had very bad night stomach ache and weird dreams connecting to people I knew in teens, awake a lot. Realise old boyfriend will be 70 next month😮 he was part of the dream, my first love.

Change bed I can do. I changed sheets but I could do duvet cover and dusting. I cleaned up kitchen with DH so it should be ok. Will S&S bathroom.

I tried to fasten up my hoodie and the zipper thingy came off. This is reaching farcical proportions!

realised while doing the ironing that the reason I can't find H's great-grandfather's birth in Stafford is almost certainly because it's a mis-transcription of Stratford, which for an East London family would make far more sense

Of course, we've now gone to the other extreme and this being late 19th century London there are several possibilities. One is heavily annotated by his loving family and one I spent half an hour tracing before discovering that he survived the war, but there are at least two others, both of whom were fatherless by the time of their first census...

Have done 30 min HIIT full body workout (crawls off thread) 🏋️‍♀️

So I looked up the death wobble, just to make sure I was being accurate, and discovered that it's not quite as deadly as I thought. Also the years that have the most problems with it, is either before or after mine. It is still scary, and could cause an accident if going fast enough. My jeep has been shaking, but the tyres are also too big for it as well, but that's all we could afford at the time (bought from a friend). Sorry I don't remember who asked about it and it's on the previous page now!

Sing 🤞for your interview results. If it was meant to be, it will be. Otherwise it's a learning experience, although I'm still hoping you got it.
hills I'm impressed by your DS for taking the initiative and cleaning his room. I'm glad he didn't just moan about it, as that doesn't ever solve anything.
willow as long as that space is still available under the patio, you can sit back and the rest of us fledglings can take care of your problem for you, since you need to rest. He surely must realise you need to rest and he needs to do more, especially if he wants the house to be at the standard you've set.

Black Tower any better?

willow I think it was you who asked, we are celebrating my ILs ruby wedding anniversary, which is Saturday. So we have booked a cabin 5 hrs away that will sleep 11. It has a hot tub and I'll be sitting in it tonight with DD and SIL. Everyone else is showing up tomorrow.
So much to do, so little time!

9am supermarket- pick up parcels of school uniform in bigger sizes.

1pm declutter and clean kitchen.
5pm took kids martial arts club. Ds cried he didnt want to go. But at the club he had a great time. I walked to a park while dd and ds were at club. Kids asked to go to bed and fell asleep at 8.46pm!
We survived out first kids club.

Argh. I am still feeling somewhat incapable of, well, anything! Didn’t get much work done with DS either. This week has been really busy with all the extra appointments both on zoom and in town. And I mustn’t forget that I have blood tests tomorrow as well!

However I really need to sort the boodwa as otherwise I can’t go to bed!

Willow what about Mateus Rose. I was so surprised at your menu because I was going to suggest it to our new pub landlord. They are thinking of having a few gimmick themes/ evenings. Pie week is the first one. Getting a band in October.

I had a headache after getting up so didn’t change duvet cover. It is white and still looks clean. Will do tomorrow. DS2 didn’t see message as he has been asleep most of the day😳DH said “Well he has been working hard for over a week.” I thought he is twenty years younger too!
Anyway he will try and do it tomorrow.
Felt better this afternoon so made a cake. DFlemon drizzle. It is lovely and light and fluffy. leaves some in corner.

Well a day of driving done. With all the stops we had to make for the dogs, DD and SIL, the 4hr 35 min drive turned into 6 hours. We arrived at the gorgeous and huge cabin at 9pm. We did get into the hot tub, which is amazing btw, and I did have to call the after hours number due to the smoke detector beeping. They never did come out tonight, so I'll be sure to call them in the morning. I can tune it out, SIL and DD on the other hand, not so much.
We did leave an hour later than I wanted to, but it wasn't a bad drive. Pretty scenic actually, until it got dark. We haven't been able to really see outside yet, so I'm excited for the morning.

that here's some coffee ☕ as I know you'll need it this morning, those nights are so rough, I'm sorry.

Mmmmmm lemon drizzle cake! I haven't had that in a long time Red I'll enjoy a virtual slice since I can't have it in reality.

I'm crawling into the naughty corner with my coffee and waving.

This week has been all about work. Tuesday (day off) I gave blood and then walked home and got a migraine and spent hours on the sofa. Yesterday (also day off) I popped into work just to get a bit of marking done and ended up there till gone 6pm.

I've just about kept head above water with laundry but need to do a couple over the weekend and there are still a few clean pots and plates around and I have cooked a couple of proper dinners but that's about it. Need to do some rescue cleaning and putting away over the weekend before we hit bombsite levels again.

Red hope ds1 is doing ok.

Elf enjoy the cabin - I have hot tub envy but preferably without all the extended family and with a good bottle of wine and a book instead.

That hope you can manage a nap with the baby later on a comfortable surface.

Willow Men! I couldn't eat a whole one.

I was about to snaffle a slice of Red’s cake but I’m going to donate the slice to That to go with her coffee. Hope you manage to grab a nap at some point. Glad I’m not alone in the 10 Things love. I thought it might seem dated but it didn’t.
