Calling all fledglings, newbies and lurkers to the September FlyLady thread! Join us as we try to sometimes rather loosely follow FlyLady’s routines to steer us gradually towards clean and tidy homes and organised lives, with lots of nattering and support along the way.

The more the merrier, so please feel welcome to join. I’ll post daily links to try to keep us on track, and I’ll explain the system as we go if we have any newbies. If there’s anything you’re not sure about please ask. The website is here but be wary of signing up to the emails. There are lots.

The naughty corner is fully stocked for anyone needing a little respite. I am already keeping it warm for everyone today and I’m not even sorry

Thank you all, DS had a good birthday. Most of the time we were relaxing and enjoying the day. I did manage to have some ta das though.

Zoo they people couldn't eat it if they wanted to. It has their allergens in it But considering most of the food I preped that went into the freezer this weekend contained my allergens I do not feel bad about it at all.

Early start for us (we're a bunch of night owls). Ds has opted to not sleep at all. And is going to crash hard later. I slept but not enough. AND took my first sip of coffee this morning only to discover the milk had turned.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for being so welcoming. It's been a rough year ( I know it has for everyone ) and I'm just really lonely ( promise I'm not needy ) so thanks .
I look forward to getting to know you all and hopefully support you all too

Aw we are very glad to have you here cute 🥰💐 we do discuss housework, but lots of other stuff too, and it has been a huge source of support over the years especially during the pandemic 💖 my DH and I have health/physical issues too so very much understand the difficulty balancing the house stuff with our own needs.

None here, and I’m trying to work out if DD1 actually should go tomorrow for her LFT. Obviously if we hear back from the PCR by 9.30 tomorrow we will know either way, but I’m wondering if it would be sensible to get her to do an LFT at home today anyway? As if she has caught it from DH then she might spread it at school just by going in for the test.

DH seems a bit better today. I felt a bit yuck last night but it was probably all in my head following his positive result 🤣 and my eye feels better too. I’m just sleepy now.

Next door teen granddaughter who lives there was confirmed case yesterday.shes v poorly,crying chest and head pain.nan works clinically vulnerable adults,yet track and trace were like you're double jabbed it's fine to go to work.her conscience won't let her,so she's rung in and explained won't be in 10days

Sadly refusing wear a mask now as "not mandatory and I can't breathe" which is her choice,but sadly if feels out of sorts climbs all over me still for reassurance so if she picks anything up I'm going down with her😭

Good luck to all those returning to school today! It’s tomorrow for us. I’d intended to get up bright and early today and get DD ready quickly as practice, however snoring DH meant I didn’t sleep well so it didn’t happen. We are almost sorted now though as we are popping in to the school shortly to meet her teacher etc.

Today the focus is the weekly home blessing/bleurgh. We move to Zone 2 today, and the mission is to scrub our stove tops. Remember the monthly habit is before bed routine. I’ve failed miserably so far but will have to get this going again tonight.

Zoo it feels a bit scary the not having to isolate thing doesn’t it. Our Trust have said they want to risk assess everyone individually first, as well as the negative PCR and daily lateral flows.

I’d probably get her to a LFT today Sing, because I’m impatient

Really CBA with stuff today. Had such a productive summer holidays for the first time ever (YAY DRUGS*) and it is a bit sad that the last week has gone wrong. But TBH now I know that we are a Plague House 🤣 I feel vindicated and thus, fuck it we shall have a relaxed day today. I was meant to make a plan for DS’ first few days “back to school” (for newbies he’s home ed) but if any of the rest of us do have covid then I think we will just count it as an extra week off. I have stuff he can get on with if we are covid free and DD1 does go to school so no need to worry really.

Will also get DH to ring the HA to check rules re covid and repairs and presumably rearrange. Caglets and I did our tests yesterday (DH on Friday) so I think that means if we are positive too, our isolation period starts from yesterday?

I was wondering that with the eyes zoo - I even considered that my sore eye wasn’t actually anything stuck at all! When we were all unwell last March the first thing I noticed was sore eyes.

Right must get on, mainly as I want to play piano 🤣

Did loads of laundry over the weekend, and still behind! Now I have to catch up on the catch-up, and then start on the pile they created while away on respite.

We are going to have a wee after-school confab on trying to keep things under control when arriving home, aka stop dropping your crap all over the kitchen, utility, and playroom!

Had a thing to go to that I was really dreading. Got a grip, made a phone call, and got a reply that took six minutes instead of the two-hour minimum that it would otherwise have taken. Very happy that this worked out. I can get on with my morning without stressing all over the place. How come I'm only now working these things out? Anyway, at least I'm learning that I can make things happen 🌈😀

Hope everyone’s first day of school goes well. That explains why we have rain today

Had a productive weekend, restarted my crochet classes at my local yarn shop on Saturday morning. It was so nice to be with a group of women just blathering away.

I spent Sunday in the front garden, it’s been neglected as I’ve been concentrating on my veg patch. I feel so much happier with it now, and have a vase full of dahlias as that had decided to grow horizontally,

Off to tackle the weekly bleugh as I’m now fully caffeinated

Dd shirt is huge so I have had to pop straight to the shops and picked up 2 shirts for £2.48 at lidl girls sizes 5-6.
Hopefully it will fit better than the boys 8-9 shirt she is currently wearing 😳.
(I tried to get away by not buying extra shirts.)

So we can’t do an LFT as we have run out - one of the boxes we had turned out to be missing the liquid stuff! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Everything feels a bit too up in the air today. Gah.

Also got a phone call asking why Cagletini wasn’t at nursery. We could’ve sworn we were told tomorrow, and apparently we weren’t the only family to think that! Not that she would have been doing today anyway of course but I would’ve phoned them. Anyway she either has to stay away for the ten days or she needs a negative PCR before being allowed back (is that law? I thought as she didn’t have to isolate due to age she wouldn’t have to stay home until results?). TBH though even if I’m negative, I think we’d likely keep her home anyway - the chances of me managing everything outside the home and both nursery runs daily are pretty slim, I’d rather not risk the flare up. So I guess it’s another week of holidays now. 🤣

I feel like I need another power of three now but my mind is blank. I’ll let DH lead the way on what we are accomplishing today 🤣

THAT - a big 👏🏻 from me ! My tada is that ive sorted my daughters medical cupboard out . Also discovered I don't have a sealed bottle of gabapentin to send in to the school nurses so it's unlikely she will be going back tomorrow . I'm so disorganised, really need some inspo to get my shit together . Been on the fly lady site to get my head around it , gutted I will have to dress every day as I rarely leave the house and I seem to get more done in my onesies ! I think I will pretend I'm dressed
