Fledglings Soar Calmly into September - the FlyLady Thread

StillUpholding · 29/08/2021 15:23

Calling all fledglings, newbies and lurkers to the September FlyLady thread! Join us as we try to sometimes rather loosely follow FlyLady’s routines to steer us gradually towards clean and tidy homes and organised lives, with lots of nattering and support along the way.

The more the merrier, so please feel welcome to join. I’ll post daily links to try to keep us on track, and I’ll explain the system as we go if we have any newbies. If there’s anything you’re not sure about please ask. The website is here but be wary of signing up to the emails. There are lots.

Thanks to our lovely Sing for keeping us flapping through August, you did a grand job.

The naughty corner is fully stocked for anyone needing a little respite. I am already keeping it warm for everyone today and I’m not even sorry

Remember, you are never behind, just jump in where you are. Let’s do this Fledglings!

Zoo they might still enjoy board games as my college friend’s children always play at Christmas and days after and her youngest is 43 the other two are in fifties I think. Every year they always have game days and one lives in Glasgow but always comes down at some stage. She 7 grandchildren. I must ring her actually. I hope you feel better soon but can understand you feeling down.

Up you sound very organised. Some of the school’s here went back on Thursday while others are starting on Monday. Part of me is glad that I am not going back. I had an extra lie in on Thursday because I could.

Hazel sounds fun. Could we have a pancake recipe please? I make piklets my mum’s recipe I think. They are quite fluffy so I would like to see the difference.

Dancing there is it might be Calgon( my mum used to use this) but I was also thinking you could dye it. Dylan is quite easy to use.

Hills what sort of jam have you been making. Nosey!

Just stripped my bed and changed sheets a day early( home bleugh) and I have put my duvet back on as I was a little bit cold the last two nights when I first went to bed.
Need to buy another R. Useful box for my aunt’s things then I can stack it under the round table out of sight but easy access.

Boudoir is getting better, about time.

I’m watching an old b&w film...In Which We Serve. Noel Coward who was interviewed in the previous programme about his life and film making. I don’t usually watch war films but it is rather good. It is VERY English. Rather lovely accents.😊

Oh. So it isn’t the new meds that’s making DH tired. Well not entirely anyway. Covid positive! 😬

He had a PCR at the hospital on Friday because he was supposed to be having a long-awaited arthroscopy on the 7th. 😭 Obviously phoned by hospital just now to cancel due to the test result. Bugger.

DS, DD1 and I all did PCRs today due to T&T (one of their friends) so for now I guess we assume they will be positive. Gah.

SingToTheSky · 05/09/2021 17:18

Anyway laundry is finally sorted and we have a rough timetable of “fitting in some extra study” for DD1.

❗️Edit a flyer DH is trying to make for a charity exhibition
❗️Start writing up correspondence English course tasks while I’m on the PC
❗️Have a look at the science study guides to work out whether we should use those

Stilllivinginazoo · 05/09/2021 18:21

Redsquirrel5 · 05/09/2021 19:03

Sing oh Sing how awful. Poor man no wonder he was feeling ill. Oh dear so sorry that has happened.

Redsquirrel5 · 05/09/2021 19:07

I came here to say that if anyone wants some procrastination time then go to AIBU and look at the thread about houses for sale. It will make all of you feel better I can assure you as well as being intriguing I went through the photos twice and looked at the plans. Do have a look.

Especially you Willow it will help you pass the time. Rest up and enjoy.😁

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/09/2021 19:08

freud was some screwed up weirdo. That is all.

ta da
some washing
lots of batch cooking
a little bit of swearing
lots f washing up
Currently waiting for pain killers to kick in, praying have enough plain flour to get finished what doing and hoping to be done sooner rather than later because my shoulders are getting sore.

Still need to wash uniform too. But first tea needs sorting.

Is everyone ready and prepped for tomo? Or are you all having the last minute scramble we are?

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/09/2021 19:08

sing hope he recovers quickly and well, and the rest of you manage to escape it.

SingToTheSky · 05/09/2021 19:10

Ha, hills you aren’t wrong there 🤣 I loved psychology exams as there was often the opportunity to criticise his work 🤣

I’ve mostly written the first task to send tomorrow. Time to look at the science books now.

SingToTheSky · 05/09/2021 19:15

And thanks all 💖 he’s actually doing a bit better this evening since a short nap 🤣

Luckily there was no school till Wednesday here so hopefully we will have the rest of our results by then.

SingToTheSky · 05/09/2021 19:16

And we are sort of prepared I suppose. Mostly. 🤣

Redsquirrel5 · 05/09/2021 19:20

AIBU:To wonder where to put something down or similar.

I hope none of you get it. My friend was the only one in his house his wife and the girls didn’t get it.

cutebutscary · 05/09/2021 19:26

Can I loosely join in please ? I love the idea of being super clean and organised, but health issues normally stop me in my tracks once I get started , perhaps everyone else's vigour and enthusiasm might rub off on me Grin

THATmamaofMANY · 05/09/2021 19:27

Oh shit sing! Hope you are all ok

StillUpholding · 05/09/2021 19:49

Welcome Cute! I’ll be honest, I’m not sure if you’re quite in the right place for vigour and enthusiasm but we all definitely dream of being super clean and organised Grin. There’s a few fledglings with health issues and we all try and motivate each other. Lovely to have you on board.

I saw that thread Red. Imagine the dusting Shock

We are not at all ready or prepped for tomorrow Hills. DH is unwell and has resorted to dressing gown of doom. My sickness has been problematic, and the house is a tip. Thankfully I’m off work and DD doesn’t start school until Tuesday.

I have everything crossed for negative results for the rest of you Sing

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 05/09/2021 20:53

Thanks Red I'll have a look at that thread!

Very little to report here except another trip to Ambulatory Care, this time at their request, for more fragmin. Now I'm on the DVT rollercoaster I basically can't get off until they prove there isn't one. I have a scan tomorrow morning, and meanwhile someone sorted out my pain meds for me and I've been quite comfortable really since midday. I just can't type in a straight line and words keep coming out wrong 🤪.

Foxes hope back to school goes well - and DS starting school - and you enjoy your SM break.

Welcome @cutebutscary - we're not really super organised but things are definitely better than they were. And the chat is great!

I'm going to have to do 🍒👋 to everyone at this point and slope off for another little sleep...

Redsquirrel5 · 06/09/2021 02:26

I wish I did Dancing still awake because I didn’t take my tablet. I need to be up early so chose not to take it and I’m still awake. Bugger that was a silly idea.

Up yes lots of dusting. The first one looked very clean the other one not so much but I prefer the style of the second one. It is a relief to know that ours isn’t that cluttered!

Stilllivinginazoo · 06/09/2021 05:15

Good luck back to schoolers🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Sing hope everyone's ok
