zoo can you not just tell her sort her own food out? Think i would! What a madam!

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 30/05/2021 12:33

I'd just come on to say that too, That! At 17, she can be given a set sum a week to manage own food. Look on it as learning independence for life!

HillsBesideTheSea · 30/05/2021 12:44

Oh zoo Sad

ta da
LMS
dealt with fall out
1 load washing on
dealt out instructions for patio washing prep
delegated general ironing
drunk far too much coffee
sorted contact for teen next week
sworn - A. LOT
appologised to neighbours for the noise on friday night (thank fuck for good neighbours)
Spoken to a friend about plans for post studies completion

Currently having a minor panic about how everything is going to get done

onwards and upwards. I am heading out to a new location with the books later. Which will be fun. several hours of peace and quiet is always great!

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/05/2021 13:42

that/willow her relationship with food isn't good.she eats huge volumes if left to own devices, more than I could afford for budgeting a separate food list for.as it is as I pay/sort/prep it's semi contained(max 3slices bread at a time, not 6-8 etc, ensuring she eats veg/protein etc not just carbs all the way)
More words were said.think airs cleared seems got head put arse.we went shop together in the end.had lunch.now heading out short walk in sunshine tog

Ok, yes, I see the issue, zoo. I wouldn't let DS3 manage his own food on the same basis. Glad you have reached some kind of rapprochement, hope you were able to have a nice walk.

Today has been just lovely. I did a Flylady experiment and actually forced myself to do my whole morning routine instead of getting sidetracked by Other Stuff and it worked really well.

Ta da
❤️ Coffee and toast in bed as previously mentioned
🧡 Washed, dressed, S&S
💛 DW rotated
💚 Wash on
💙 Yesterday's last wash hung out
💜 Kitchen floor swept
🤎 Coffee in the garden with DH discussing what we were going to achieve
🖤 Suitcases out of our bedroom up to the loft. They'd been on top of the wardrobes for the best part of a decade and now they've gone the room feels huge
❤️ Found a basket in the loft to be a blanket box in the living room and deployed it accordingly
🧡 Walked the Hound
💛 Hung out the washing then lunch in the garden with DS3
💚 Lunch cleared, DW on
💙 Spent a lovely couple of hours sewing in the garden while DS3 looned about in the paddling pool
💜 Did a bit of decorating prep - cleaned the mould off our windowsill (again), filled some cracks in our ceiling etc
🤎 Put the chicken in to roast
🖤 "Refreshed" my hair colour 😉
❤️ Did roast potatoes and carrots with boiled broccoli and green beans. Apparently when DH says he wants green beans, he doesn't actually mean he's going to eat them. 🤬🤦
🧡 Emptied the DW again
💛 Got everyone else to clear the table after dinner while I stripped the meat off the chicken
💚 Walked the dog again with DH, as DS2 is away (house sitting back on til Thurs, unless extended til Sun)
💙 Brought the washing in.

So much time sitting in the garden just being with people I love, it was great. Hoping for more of the same tomorrow (but possibly fewer dog walks).

ChickJagger · 30/05/2021 21:13

Hi thank you for all the welcomes again you seem like a lovely bunch😁. Sorry I haven’t been that active on here we’ve just been enjoying the gorgeous weather before it gets wet again☀️.
Haha glad it isn’t just me who struggled with the 2 under 3 stage, I’m exhausted most day’s😂
mc glad to hear you enjoyed the hen do! The weathers been gorgeous for it.
dancing good luck with the job hunting🤞🏻
willow I haven’t actually put anything in place yet, I’ve just been familiarising myself with the daily focuses and the zones. I’m going to start properly tomorrow but I’m hoping it works out well for me! Your bathroom is gorgeous😍
sing sorry about the achey arms, I feel your pain🙄
Bedtime has proved to be difficult as it is still so light and warm, even though I’ve tried to get all his energy out DS1 is still refusing to sleep!

halfhope · 30/05/2021 21:36

He's probably energised chick - does he have a little solar panel? 😁 🌞

SingToTheSky · 30/05/2021 21:45

:o hope

Why is it that I’ve been happily sorting out several BRCs recently and yet it literally only just occurred to me today that I could view the two kitchen drawers as BRCs and sort them that way?! Especially as I’ve been grumbling to myself for ages about lack of storage in the kitchen 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣 what a rookie. Or n00b as they say (even that’s old fashioned now o suppose).

SingToTheSky · 30/05/2021 21:47

I suppose. 🙄

Mc3209 · 30/05/2021 23:08

Chick yeah, it seems when little ones are determined to fight sleep, they somehow acquire the energy of 1000 suns. It took me a few months to get into FlyLady. I mixed it with TOMM previously, but packed that in and I am now exclusively Flying.
Sing good luck with kitchen drawers.
Willow what a fabulous and productive day you've had! Your bathroom wallpaper is gorgeous.
That a bit late, but Congratulations on finishing all your course work! How are you feeling? Ready for the arrival of the little one?

Ta das:
💥Aquariums X3
💥Small mountain of clean laundry sorted
💥Bathroom blitzed
💥Batch cooked baby food
💥Stripped and remade beds

Tomorrow need to tackle that Mount Washmore.

SingToTheSky · 30/05/2021 23:23

I was planning to sort the crap in said drawers but instead ended up with a long conversation about the lack of decent girls’ sport at her school. Boys get all the opportunities, and all the attention in classes (she does sports studies btec as well as normal PE). There is very little effort put into a girls’ football team etc.

The school is classed as a specialist sports college Hmm

Anyway. Think it’s probably a bit late to start the drawers now so it’ll be a nice easy start for tomorrow. Also going to start switching Cagletini’s clothes since she was desperate to wear a new pair of shark pyjamas today :o

ta da
☠️ordered meds on GP website
☠️bought webcam as my assumption that PC monitors would have an inbuilt camera like previous laptops was in fact wrong
☠️browsed trackballs on Amazon (prefer them to computer mice) and messaged dad to see if he has a spare we could borrow for now
☠️checked UC journal, looked up some info and messaged work coach
☠️ordered tesco
☠️yesterday’s second LOL into dryer
☠️put a few toys etc away
☠️put ten more books in the “out of rotation” box
☠️tidied bedtime story books upstairs
☠️broke up and binned packaging stuff from computer
☠️sorted dirty laundry as it had got all mixed up
☠️towel LOL
☠️sorted my pens (the nice ones nobody else is allowed to use) into the desk - one fine liner missing, noooo!
☠️bit of BRC diving
☠️cleaned weekly planner blackboard
☠️pulled out some books for DS to decide on - he is happy to get rid of all of them
☠️unpacked some next size clothes of Cagletini’s so I can switch everything over easily once the last bits are here next week
☠️put clean laundry away (except hanging stuff)
☠️discovered a big slightly broken box under Cagletini’s bed (it did have the marble run in it but that’s moved) and started filling it with games and books I want to sell on FB, which cleared a bit of space on the Kallax units downstairs
☠️towels in dryer
☠️moved some definitely-keeping games upstairs
☠️bagged up a load of small games to decide on later
☠️helped bathe a very stroppy Cagletini
☠️cleared bed
☠️bath, hair wash and long overdue leg defrost
☠️vacuumed and antibacced two empty kitchen drawers (DD1 had emptied them into tubs for me to sort later)

So much for a day off decluttering 🤔🤣😁

SingToTheSky · 30/05/2021 23:27

Oh god if we needed proof of how small Cagletini’s world has been thanks for the pandemic - DH was making up a story for her at bedtime and he said something about somewhere far away.

Cagletini: what... as far as Tesco?
DH: further!
Cagletini: ... Asda?
DH: even further than that!
Cagletini: wow... as far as... TOWN?!?

😳🙈 poor kid 🤣 her mind will be blown when we go on a train soon, she’s probably forgotten what they’re like 🤣

Dancingtomusic · 30/05/2021 23:54

StillUpholding · 31/05/2021 06:42

Hi Minnie! I’ve been AWOL for a few days and can not take credit for any inspiring ta da lists, but I agree, they really do help.

sing you’ve def caught the decluttering bug! Grin at Cagletini.

DD has just woken me up to tell me she’s getting dressed and going on the beach. Apparently it’s ok, she’ll just go herself. Not at 4 sunshine, and not at 6:30 in the morning 🤣

Stilllivinginazoo · 31/05/2021 07:06

up at least she told you her plan and didn't just disappear!I confess to loving the beach early morning when it's blissfully quiet.does it get busy this time of year where you are?

MinnieJackson · 31/05/2021 07:47

Oh my word @Stilllivinginazoo! You are on fire this morning! I'm preparing a little bank holiday buffet for us around 4pm (found some Xmas goodie bits in the freezer last night Grin) waiting for the younger ones to wake up now to get there washing. They tried to get up at 5.35 Confused. Not today Satan!

SingToTheSky · 31/05/2021 08:18

Welcome minnie!

Up bless her :o well clearly if she’s independent enough to go to the beach alone she is also independent enough to do aaaall the chores :o

Must get up. To help myself sleep last night I was listing all my tasks to do today so I might be back with a to do list once I’ve had breakfast :o

EversoDelighted · 31/05/2021 08:20

Morning all, I'm at a car boot sale observing, trying not to buy anything and wondering if it would be a good way to get rid of some clutter. Has anyone here done one? Any tips? I would hazard a guess that most of the sellers here are regular / semi-professional.

Stilllivinginazoo · 31/05/2021 08:29

ED in am of no use whatsoever!
Minnie I start strong,but quickly burn down🤣

Zoolets are up ,fed and watered

SingToTheSky · 31/05/2021 08:44

Ooh exciting ED yes I think it can be good if you have a lot to shift. We did a couple a while before Cagletini, using some cheap wallpapering tables and a hanging rail. It was great to get rid of some big items like old guitars and a double buggy etc.

My main tip would be that if it’s a regular one you’ll likely get professional buyers as well as sellers, and they can be pretty pushy. We had people walking up to the car asking to buy any old phones before dad had even parked the car! And as we were setting up there were a few people (likely eBay sellers) looking for specific things like video games. I mean, fair play to them if they can take the time to make a profit etc of course, but I did find the pushiness a bit disarming. So I would suggest if there’s stuff you could get a good price on and don’t want to be aggressively haggled with, you could leave it hidden in the car until a bit later in the morning when the professionals have likely left.
