Welcome fledglings to May’s Flylady thread – many, many thanks to ED for her expert guidance through April 2021.

All are welcome and especially Newbies. Don’t be shy in making yourselves known because we are a friendly bunch.
We follow Flylady’s system for house and sanity maintenance which is based around 5 room zones spread over the month. There is a weekly quick home clean in the midst of more thorough zone cleaning. I am an aging fledgling who really should be more proactive about following the plan but to be frank I enjoy the natter and good company more than I enjoy cleaning. Every day I will be checking in and giving the ‘flight plan’ for the day with links to the Flylady site. You can join Flylady on her site for email updates but she does like to send a lot out, just so you know!
The most importantist thing to know is that you are NEVER behind – just do what you can when you can. Many of us post ta da lists as we cross items off our [never-ending] to do lists.
You may find the following acronyms along the way (adapted below from ED’s useful list from April)
LOL = load of laundry
S&S = swish and swipe, a quick daily clean of the toilet and sink
PO3 = power of 3. When motivation is on the low side or you’re overwhelmed just pick 3 things at a time and do them
DNLMS = did not lose my shit
Ned = our mythical mate who helps with the laundry
Pointy stick —-> = for when a fledgling needs a motivational prod
The naughty corner = a relaxing haven where we hang out when motivation is low or when life becomes overwhelming. Usually enticing food is left there with squishy cushions.
KCC – (Keep calm corner) these are little stories, photos, memes, off-topic questions, just to keep us all distracted from the general tedium of lockdown life. Feel free to chip in.

Working my way across locating dining table surface(1/3 way there.its slow as need find homes for "stuff" and wash up random dusty stuff)
Took dd2 out as requested for walk in sunshine.11/2 hrs later(I was pleased she wanted to go,but was thinking how am I ment get stuff finished if I'm not even at home?!)

I really need to do some more clearing but I've hit a slump.very very tired and I need go get lil zoo in ten then organise a quick snack/drink before she heads off out dd1 to walk their dog!

I’m also in a slump Zoo. The house feels grubby and I keep spotting things that need done but have not actually managed to do much of them yet. You’ve done lots though!

🌸 2 x LOL - I am now back on top of the laundry 🙌🏻
🌸 sorted out huuuge pile of clean washing and put it all away. We now all have clean pants and socks in the correct place again
🌸 DW emptied and set off, and some dishes hand washed
🌸 bit of dusting in the boudoir, landing and dressing room
🌸 attacked sticky glass rings and finger prints on various upstairs surfaces, paintwork and light switches with anti vac wipes
🌸 tidied up my dressing room including 2 drawers (underwear and pjs)
🌸 spread out DD’s shopping list game to dry after it was a victim of spillage number 1 this morning
🌸 popped to corner shop for bread, milk etc and aero
🌸 had DSis round for a cuppa inside She brought me lovely flowers and assured me her house is just as much of a pit
🌸 played some games with DD and showed the cats some love

The whole place still needs hoovering and I badly need to dust and mop downstairs but I feel a bit more on top of things than I did.

Def in a slump here too! DD1 has cheered up now and is FaceTiming her friend, and we’ve unpacked Cagletini’s magnetic calendar (I had wondered about making her a little chart thing with the days of the week etc but much as I love my laminator, I figured a fiver in the Works was well worth the time saved!)

I’d hoped to get the Caglets to help out with tidying up a bit generally, as we will actually be seeing people now, but I’m knackered and seem to have my traditional last-day-of-period nausea/headache 🤬 so I just CBA frankly. Very glad we have no clubs this evening.

Dh has opened his presents and we've had tea and cake so that's good. I need to get the dc's pizza in the oven but I don't want to get up .

Hiya, we’ve been to soft play!! I never thought there would come a day that I enjoyed soft play so much😂. I think Esai was confused bless him, he’s never really been around that many people but Orli loved it. I’m hoping to do something like that most days now, although we have play group and stuff I want them to enjoy stuff now it’s back open. Tonight we’re meeting with a friend for dinner out, the DC are coming too. And then hopefully towards the end of the month, maybe in half term, we will be able to visit our family who live about an hour and half from us. I feel like I’m going overboard by doing so much but it’s all so up in the air I want to enjoy it whilst we can!.

Your plans for the greenhouse sound lovely red, my step dad has a green house and allotment and grows a lot of stuff in there, he loves it!. Your vegan salad sounds amazing!.

mc glad to hear DH has been pulling his weight! I love cloth nappies, they’re all we use on the DC but I’ve never had any leaks. Much easier than they used to be too now they have so many different ones with poppers and Velcro!. Have you seen the nuby nibbler? You can pop food in that and then baby will mush it up. That might be a good place to start? I’m glad it’s going well so far though!. How adorable is the tiny sporran!

zoo I’m awful with passwords, I’ve wrote them down somewhere safe now, but when I got my phone it was terrible trying to remember things. I hope the plan works with lil zoo bless her❤️

hills the wool plans sound great, we have a neighbour who knits a lot of stuff and she made some beautiful jumpers for the DC. You can’t beat it!

😳I was just about to say that I haven't achieved much today except to clean Ds's room but I see 😁 this appears to be a common theme around here. I think we should just write off Wednesday. Happy slump day everyone 🎉🥳

I have moved. been feeling like shit breathing wise so decided it was a good idea to go for a walk. Except I am an over achiver and now not only can i not breathe, but everything hurts.

People decided to feed themselves. Teen has opinions as he is now grabbing his own.

Ships really please you enjoyed soft play hell. Can I ask about your DS's name - is it pronounced Eees-eye? Or something different. It is lovely, but I'd like to know I'm reading it right in my head.

🧡 Drove to Temple Fortune without LMS - no mean feat on the M25 followed by the North Circular.
💛 Podiatrist v pleased with DS3's increasing strength and balance skills
💚 Podiatrist looked at my Poorly Foot. Sensibly explained what was wrong, strapped up poorly toe and gave me orthotic inserts for extra support until it's better. Should have seen him in the first place! I am walking without a limp or pain in my foot for the first time since November. The only issue now is that all the muscles that had been trying to compensate and keep me upright are aching from the change to correct balance!
💙 Trip to Tesco to ensure there was food til Tuesday

I'm off to watch New Amsterdam which is a medical drama set in New York. One of the doctors is limping so I'll be thinking of you Willow.

Write-Off Wednesday is coming to a close so be sure to mentally acknowledge all the things that might have been done today but weren't and put them to the back of your mind or list.

I STILL haven't done the home bleurgh/blessing. Nor the zone cleaning.
