Welcome fledglings to May’s Flylady thread – many, many thanks to ED for her expert guidance through April 2021.

All are welcome and especially Newbies. Don’t be shy in making yourselves known because we are a friendly bunch.
We follow Flylady’s system for house and sanity maintenance which is based around 5 room zones spread over the month. There is a weekly quick home clean in the midst of more thorough zone cleaning. I am an aging fledgling who really should be more proactive about following the plan but to be frank I enjoy the natter and good company more than I enjoy cleaning. Every day I will be checking in and giving the ‘flight plan’ for the day with links to the Flylady site. You can join Flylady on her site for email updates but she does like to send a lot out, just so you know!
The most importantist thing to know is that you are NEVER behind – just do what you can when you can. Many of us post ta da lists as we cross items off our [never-ending] to do lists.
You may find the following acronyms along the way (adapted below from ED’s useful list from April)
LOL = load of laundry
S&S = swish and swipe, a quick daily clean of the toilet and sink
PO3 = power of 3. When motivation is on the low side or you’re overwhelmed just pick 3 things at a time and do them
DNLMS = did not lose my shit
Ned = our mythical mate who helps with the laundry
Pointy stick —-> = for when a fledgling needs a motivational prod
The naughty corner = a relaxing haven where we hang out when motivation is low or when life becomes overwhelming. Usually enticing food is left there with squishy cushions.
KCC – (Keep calm corner) these are little stories, photos, memes, off-topic questions, just to keep us all distracted from the general tedium of lockdown life. Feel free to chip in.

Hi ladies I forgot to post this pic the other day of Emilia eating a baguette almost as big as her haha. I can’t keep my eyes open so tired today I had to look after my friends DD so took both girls to the park and they ran me ragged I could sleep for days. The kids dads mum sent me some pics of him as a child today and omg Emilia is his double if it wasn’t for her hair colour I wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. It’s making me wonder what little man is going to look like I can’t wait haha.
Thank you everyone for being so nice about the name. It’s not even that unusual just dated in England but where my family are from it’s really common. He’s going to be called Kevin and some people were just really nasty. But yeah I think I’ll probably stay off a few threads because they’re a bit catty.
zoo they’re beautiful names I’d have loved to have gone with something a bit more unusual but I wasn’t brave enough haha. I hope your dd is okay after her panic attack they’re horrible things 💖

I haven’t really done anything in the way of cleaning today I’m hoping to catch up tomorrow but now I need to sleep

I. Am. Done. Can’t even bring myself to move the laundry right now. I am mightily pissed off as I don’t think I can manage forest school. I’ve been breathing easier the last few days but within minutes of being by the campfire I felt like shit again, noisy breathing etc and had to go to bed for hours once home. It’s so nice to be outdoors and to chat with other parents but I really can’t handle this kind of setback every week :(

Oh no sing could be a combination of colder air in the afternoon and the smoke. Hope you are okay.

Hope yep the temperature definitely doesn’t help with the fatigue/ache - I tense up against cold. I don’t get why I’m so sensitive to the smoke too though. I’m not asthmatic.

It’s so annoying especially as the indoor social meets can no longer go ahead due to a venue problem and I was so excited to get back to those once training finished. And if DS keeps going it’s yet another thing I feel guilty about as a friend takes him while I stay home :(

DD1 is trying to decide what to take for lunch tomorrow as the school meals have got a lot worse since covid. Great she prefers healthier stuff but boy it would be great if she actually ate something as revolutionary as a sandwich

I also realised I REALLY need to get to some more charity shops and the library ASAP as despite having plenty of books for Cagletini I am so bloody bored with what we have. I love reading to her during the day and at bedtime and I love the fact she enjoys so many old favourites from when the Caglets were little (and even me!) but I need more options 🤣 and then do a proper “putting a box out of reach for a month at a time” rotation.

Well late night with Dd2.sidnt get rip from sleep but v tired today.mans ment be returning oven door.keeping fingers,eyes,legs etc crossed it's sorted this time.i miss baking (mini oven can cope very short bakes like muffins but not loaf types

I’m back! I have a lot of catching up to do. It was great to see my sisters and nieces and nephews (briefly) and the new baby. The baby is gorgeous.
My sister who is ill looked much better than I expected.

We stayed two nights in the village we used to live in but didn’t see any of our old acquaintances. We had two walks along the beach though.Then I moved to the town nearby while DS2 went to Aberdeen. The Airbnb was fantastic everything I could want and very comfortable.
The drive up and back was good. Oh he changed his mind about the train.
I’m still tired so might doze off again. I hope you have a good day.

Been up since 4, it was freezing cold (no really the cars were frozen) and i woke up as too cold. Taking the morning gently so far formulating a plan. About to hit the ground running and get all the things done. Because of course i am

Afternoon. Lost control of the day first thing this morning when I found yesterday's wet ceiling nice and dry, but a new leak hitting the carpet elsewhere in the same room 🤬.

❤️ Talked to DS2 about the realities of accountancy training. He does not think Audit training for the ACA is for him (and I agree)
🧡 Printed DD's last exam paper and got her to complete it
💛 Spoke to the Bucks Home School Team, who were delighted to hear DD has some qualifications and a 6th Form place 🤞
💚 Sorted music rooms books into piles of Must Have This and Why Have We Still Got That?
💙 DM brought the second dehumidifier over
💜 Rotated DW, found kitchen
🤎 Ate a curry flavoured King Pot Noodle for lunch and I'm not even sorry.

Shortly going to hand over exam papers to the Latin tutor, then DD and I will celebrate the end of her exams by going to Lidl. Whoop!

Does Elmlea qualify as cream Willow? After another leak I would say that curry flavoured pot noodle should be issued to you on prescription. I'm glad you found your kitchen

4loads wash done,dry,fold and put away.i can see bottom of 3 of laundry baskets(zoolets have small one for towels each and another each for clothes so 6 in total in house,plus my laundry chair!)other baskets are less half full I'm making good progress!!
Still waiting on repair man.on plus I didn't have walk over for lil zoo and take the storm that hit 5 mins after should've left and stopped before she came out of school!!

I only braved ikea as i was literally 5 mins down the road anyway, and was fully intending to run away again if the car park gave the impression the store was crazy busy. Carpark wasnt too bad, and other than people walking really slowly and having to say excuse me a few times to get past with social distancing yes that is still a thing people! the worst be was they appear to have made the building 15 billion miles bigger during lockdown.
yeah yeah i know my fitness level took a nose dive in lock down but shhhhh i like my delusion better

I have moved the paperwork and figuring out what other corners i can cut so that i can head to bed quicker than waiting for the washer and dryer to run 2 more cycles.
