Welcome to February! This is a friendly ongoing thread where we follow (n some cases, very loosely) the Flylady method for sorting out our homes and lives!

Newbies are always welcome here! It’s a long running thread so please don’t worry if we appear cliquey. There’s a lot of chatter and support for all sorts of things, alongside the housework stuff.

Every day I will post a link to the Flylady launch pad, which is where you can access the information for that day - babysteps, missions, daily focus etc. But if you’re confused about anything, please ask!

Check out the website too - but we suggest not signing up for the millions of emails.

The great thing about Flylady is that you jump in where you are. Everything you do is progress. Don’t worry about not “keeping up”. Any achievement, however small, means progress.

Hope DD feels better soon kt and that the boss was ok about you having to take the day off. It’s so so hard juggling sick kids and work, I don’t miss those days!

Just back from school run. Have a few bits to do today, phone calls etc. Hoping to get home bleugh done around them, or at least some of it. Also must do a laundry catch up.

Oh gosh. Cagletini has just got into Peppa. I swore she wouldn’t but it was right next to the (far superior) Ben and Holly on Netflix. Damn pig.

Ds loved Thomas the Tank engine. I despaired about the books and would try to skip pages but he knew them by heart.

We liked Ben and Holly,Fifi and the flower tots was dd2 favourite,numberjacks and alpha blocks,rotary the racing car.mr men was loved by them,hated by me as I recall the original series!!lil zoo loved balamory,tinga tales and oddly pink panther cartoons!!

Ugh Thomas is sooo annoying. I loved them as a kid but it did not stand the test of time for me at all. Funny how some nostalgia makes you happy to share (Fantasia for example! Will never forget the excitement when that finally got released on DVD and I could show DD1 who was 4!) and others just don’t feel the same as an adult.

It really sucks being female zoo :( she doesn’t seem to be in pain with them yet but hopefully the nausea isn’t going to get too much worse.

I haven’t moved yet but DS is now getting on with his maths. I’m really glad I’m finding it easier to get that stuff prepped over the weekend now as it means he can just do it.

Does anyone else find if you read a book say a thomas book, you read it in the voice of the tv programme?

Anyone ever see something called The Big Knights? That’s a nostalgia thing that did stand the test of time for me - my kids love it! Similar in style to Peppa/Ben and Holly, I think the same composer too. Sir Boris and Sir Morris, Sir Horace the dog and my personal fave, Sir Doris the hamster :o

🤣 I did not realise Scottish Peppa Pig was satirical. I thought I was going to listen to a regular show in Doric/Scots. That's cheered me up.

thanks all. She seems ok in herself and temp is down a bit. It's been peppa pig and cocomelon on YouTube so far, which I can live with. However the problem with YouTube is the suggestions - so many videos of spoilt kids opening shed loads of plastic crap that I really don't want her watching. Thankfully it's all been interspersed with some colouring and painting

DH and I are so insanely unmotivated today. He’s washed up. I have vaguely supervised some home ed. Meh.

I really really need to get DS’ work sorted. The thing with the way we are working at the moment - this term we’ve introduced the “country of the week” and “person of the week” - is that it means we really need to make sure it’s all finished by Friday so it doesn’t carry over and mess up the following week. POTW is new this week and due to having these courses (which hadn’t started when I was setting up the geography stuff) I’ve not got the worksheets sorted in full yet.

Must crack on. Cagletini is asleep after screaming the place down when she got in from nursery.

Couldn't sleep last night. tried reading, crossword, IPad, reading. Haven't got a book at the moment as I'm waiting to get another from charity shop/Booths in the series. I only have three more to read and one isn't out until next week. I missed one so I wont to get that next. So far only bought two. Just noticed the library van hasn't called. It only comes every three weeks so wondering if it is on any more.

Poor DD I hated mine at that age. You feel so grim and achey at least people are a bit more open about discussing them. My mum left a little book on my bed. Then asked a few days later if I had read it and she used to be a NURSE! my cousin was the same age so we could have a moan if they came down(80miles away) for the weekend.

Back a bit better now dosed up and wondering if I can avoid Osteo as I am trying to get my money stable. I really need to stop paying myself back for the kitchen as it has played havoc with my current account. Money I am owed should come through on Sunday as I finally found receipts (in a safe place) and handed them over. So a bit over a hundred I think. Might get back on track. Slept in this morning to 11 because I was awake until 4.30-5am. I hate this. GP says it is just the stress coming out which is good.Doesn't feel good and he upped my meds.only I can't find what I did with them. DH slept all night from about 11 and is now having a sleep because he has been up since 9am. Bless him.Apart from logs I don't think he has done anything oh and hen and cat.

Put washing away. Filled basket with random crap around room mainly clothes 1/2 worn jumpers and cardi's.
Brunch.
Answered emails (they count don't they? If work related?)
Searched ebay with tea for a shelf we need in the kitchen. Found one to collect in Lancaster-doable. Too big damn!

✅supervised rest of home ed work including printing resources as he was struggling with negative numbers
✅made it out the house (I’m sitting in a quiet corner of the pub about to read through all the handouts from parenting course) so that’s 28 out of 31 days I managed this month :)

Sorry about the sleeping difficulty bower it’s bloody miserable. Hope meds can be tweaked. I haven’t really slept properly since I was on paroxetine for a few months winter 2018/19.

Totally didn’t know a snaffle was an actual thing!!! Every day a (home)school day :o

Errrr that’s it. Feeling sick/headachey again not sure if there’s something in the air - DSD has a migraine, DS is still under the weather and DD messaged from school to say she had reflux again which hasn’t happened in a while. They didn’t go to their clubs this evening. I feel slightly more human after a tiny doze. Think I need food now dry cereal beckons!

Busy weekend dancing wise and I hope we can get some other stuff done too, the clean laundry pile is practically the height of Snowdon and we have some long overdue paperwork to get done.
