February Flying for Fledglings, No More CHAOS here

ExpletiveDelighted · 30/01/2020 17:14

Welcome to February! This is a friendly ongoing thread where we follow (n some cases, very loosely) the Flylady method for sorting out our homes and lives!

Newbies are always welcome here! It’s a long running thread so please don’t worry if we appear cliquey. There’s a lot of chatter and support for all sorts of things, alongside the housework stuff.

Every day I will post a link to the Flylady launch pad, which is where you can access the information for that day - babysteps, missions, daily focus etc. But if you’re confused about anything, please ask!

Check out the website too - but we suggest not signing up for the millions of emails.

The great thing about Flylady is that you jump in where you are. Everything you do is progress. Don’t worry about not “keeping up”. Any achievement, however small, means progress.

More info to follow.

Parents eve for dd2 last night.left D's n lil zoo as they cram most teachers into canteen and library and it's a cattle market of bodies, hot as hell and lots of jostling.
All teachers feel she's ready GCSEs.big suprise of the night was tartar imedia teacher being nice...we had words last year about expectations (most it can only be done at school and she was adamant dd2 HAD to do X,y,z as was more important the other subject etc) this time around she was mindful of dd2 anxiety and offered extra options, incl using pe lessons/extra days she's not put open to all after-school so she has quiet times to go complete things, plus agree move friend nearer to ease anxiety.on reflection I think she must've been off for stress last year(couple months) and she's feeling some empathy.dd can use pe as she currently has math tutor/mindfulness groups then.she has been offered taking lil zoo along after-school and teacher will find something for her to do (there is homework club if she can convince a friend instead) so dd2 can work and they still come home together.i was touched at the changearound and said how grateful I was

Better get up n see lil zoo migraines at point she's fit for school.after stress parents eve dd2 bare ate then had reflux troubles triggering massive two hour panic attack into the night so doubt she's fit for anything today

TooStressyTooMessy · 07/02/2020 07:28

Sorry That but I also have to suggest phoning your GP surgery.

THAT90sBITCH · 07/02/2020 07:46

Good news on the parents evening zoo We have our first proper high school parents evening next month

Tinselette1940 · 07/02/2020 08:30

Good luck with GP that. Hope it's wind which is what my granny would diagnose for all stomach ache. Best get it checked out as granny not medically qualified.

Gah double posting again.

THAT90sBITCH · 07/02/2020 08:34

Grin tinselette

Gp appointment at tea time. Tried fobbing me off that they can just send sample to lab but i requested actually see someone

LaneBoy · 07/02/2020 08:54

I think that sounds better tbh as at least they’ll dip it straight away and can start considering other causes if it’s clear! Glad you’ve made the appt.

Cagletini and DS still complaining of tummy aches. Guess that’s a no on nursery again - a whole week she’s missed! Will get DH to phone.

DS is getting on with his geography (Madeira) and person (Alan Turing) stuff, we are skipping maths and English in order to get that done.

LaneBoy · 07/02/2020 08:59

Really good news about the teacher making adjustments for DD2 zoo :)

Ugh I keep feeling sick still. It’s been weeks now. (Definitely no baby!)

THAT90sBITCH · 07/02/2020 09:32

Ta da

School run and shit
Ordered few bits from h&m

Need crack on with reading, less than a week til essay is due

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 07/02/2020 10:05

Ta-da's so far
✔️ everyone up, fed and dressed
✔️ school run
✔️ dishes
✔️ tidied all the crap that was dumped on every available surface in the kitchen
✔️ cleaned worktops. They need oiling desperately but that's a job for another day

I'm now clearing out the kitchen cupboards while the little fella naps. I only did this a few weeks ago but I've still found a load of crap to chuck.

ChicCroissant · 07/02/2020 11:33

That ring your GP and take a sample in to be tested, even if you don't have an appointment (well tbh they are reluctant to give you one for a suspected UTI) you can drop a sample in and the nurses will test it - a GP rings me back when I need antibiotics (I did this last week!).

I realised yesterday that I am busy next week so have really put an effort in last night and this morning Blush 2 loads of laundry, ironing, washing up have been my flying tasks today. Still to do - minor bit of shopping, putting yesterday's dry laundry away, pay some bills.

DD revising slightly OK for exams, will be finished early next week. Have already gathered together paperwork and items needed to get her out of school early today and painkillers etc for brace tightening this afternoon. Also sorting out stuff as one of the local takes-all jumble sales is happening soon so always a good place to declutter saleable items to. May pass some clothes on to someone else they might fit if she wants them.

Will crack on. Must not surf MN ....

Catch you later tonight hopefully.

Bowerbird5 · 07/02/2020 18:00

Hi,
Busy bees again wow.

That glad you are going. I had suspected appendicitis years ago no sickness but pain quite bad at times. Went to the GP twice one day because so painful in morning and had a booked app.anyway in the evening. AM GP dismissed it and prodded me on wrong side as it had moved! Think it was probably the bowel medical prob I have now,
Kidneys -tend to be most pain in back and dragging feeling especially when wanting to wee. STI could be likely.

Lane you seem to be doing well despite all the sickness etc. Glad you could get out to pub for a bit.
Chic poor DD I hate exams. We don't seem to have jumble sales round here. Car Boot in the summer nearby and lots of charity shops in town but only one where you could drop off by car easily and it shut before Christmas.

Sorry got interrupted and have lost my thread.

TA DAs
dishwasher.
bed made.
Dressed to Uggs
Worktops.
LOL x2 and another ready when i find two bra bags only found one.
one whole basket of ironing. DH took over while I had a cup of tea. Bit shocked but he knows back is still a bit bleugh.

Made teas and coffees several times and cake and sausage rolls for men just two today for path. Finished except for pointing in between. He has cut such a neat job around the manhole. Bless him. Finding more jobsGrin
That I think it was. DH isn't very good at DIY. He can paint(bit messy) and wallpaper (good) but not these sort of jobs and we don't have the tools either. This lad has an amazing cutter for the stone. It is quite thick.
Put lots of things away that had to be moved yesterday. Did my cutlery tray last Sunday Grin smug! Boudoir looking better but still needs clothes away and dining room table groaning.

Feeling much brighter. GP up meds to 25mg which has just pushed me into more positive frame of mind. I kept running out because 10mg packs and took two but up from usual 5-10mg.

Going to church for 1st Friday Mass and then fish and chips( they know how to encourage people at our church it's all about the food!)
Will pop in before I go to bed. Wing flaps to all those I have missed. Need to remember what made me laught in Willow's post.

LaneBoy · 07/02/2020 18:19

Hope you’re doing ok that

I’ve done nothing today, not even moved the laundry on which I really should! Still feeling crap and curled up with all4 on the iPad.

Hello to all xx

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/02/2020 18:48

that hope you ok
We book app times for parents eve,but often run late and we tend to just slope in to see teachers we need to see when they seem to be waiting and have no queue!!last night we were booked 7-8 for app,saw last one 830 as few snarled to a halt due to teachers waffling on and overrunning...
Lane that's odd it's dragging on so,are you sure it's a bug??

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 07/02/2020 18:52

Hope you got sorted that.
Hope you feel better soon lane.

I've had quite a productive day off
Ta da's
✔️finished sorting the kitchen cupboards
✔️ cleaned mucky marks off kitchen door frame. Think the dc must deliberately smear a bit of every meal on it as they walk past
✔️ cleaned extractor and filters. Need to get some elbow grease to do a better job
✔️ cleaned the fronts of the kitchen units
✔️ cleaned washer
✔️ chucked some air fresher things out. I had about 10 of the same type and I never buy the refills because they are expensive
✔️ took the high chair to bits, washed and put it back together. It was grim 🤮. Realised he's been using it 1yr and this is the first time its had a proper clean 🙈
✔️made beds
✔️ S&S
✔️ 2 x LOL
✔️ 2 x loads of ironing
✔️ had a bath now I have central heating 🎉
✔️ school run
✔️ dishes
✔️ made dinner
✔️ homework/reading/spellings/filled out letters for school
✔️ took big 2 to cubs
✔️ got a few bits in Lidl including washing up liquid as I'd ran out and all the dishes from dinner still need doing

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 07/02/2020 18:53

Oh and finished a research assignment so I didn't feel so bad about having a skive day

LaneBoy · 07/02/2020 19:02

Epic list we3
Bower glad you are feeling a bit brighter!

Zoo I don’t think it’s the bug for me, I’ve been in flare up (of PoTS) since mid jan, had the cold and then probably the sick bug (without puking) already, but on top of the flare up it’s really done me in and exacerbated it I guess.

I’ve started back on a lower dose of my adhd meds as the doctor said that may be related, but I’ve not noticed a difference yet.

Just want to feel better! I miss the gym/swimming. Was sad not to go to playgroup yesterday too. But none of those things are safe when I’m this dizzy. Bah.

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/02/2020 19:26

THAT90sBITCH · 07/02/2020 21:56

Evening all

I have antibiotics, gp thinks uti/kidney infection. Have to go back monday if no better but also go straight to a&e if it gets worse incase of appendicitis.

Minimal house stuff done today. Managed read a chapter of book though.

LaneBoy · 07/02/2020 21:58

Well done that for getting there and for still reading! Hopefully they kick in soon and get rid of whatever it is. I think we fledglings could open a pharmacy of late 😅

Still haven’t moved laundry on.

THAT90sBITCH · 07/02/2020 22:26

Thanks lane! Nice that people care i am ok tbh, a certain someone hasnt even asked what the gp said ...
