Bower, you're quite right - men deal with important things like fires, holidays and where we stand on the Balkan Crisis. We women only deal with stuff like what we eat, what we wear, the children and pets. Little, unimportant, day to day stuff!
Glad the path is going well and hope Lads1 and 2 etc are all properly grateful for your lovely cooking!
Foxes, your scrapbook sounds lovely. It doesn't need to be perfect, just heartfelt. I did something similar for DH with his gig tickets and he loves it, despite it not matching what was in my head.
Lane, hope DS is feeling better. I see Cagletini is getting the feel of how the world works!
Zoo, as Bower said, I think it's good you could both see the second school was wrong. It means you have a very clear idea of his needs. And maybe, a period of cruising academically while he deals with all the social / anxiety-based stuff would be good for him. That's basically what DD is doing this year. Her previous (grammar) school was going science and maths a year ahead, so she's spending this year "consolidating" while she works on her SPD and social relationships. That, and the fact that English has got hard, is quite enough for her.
SC, if you're reading not posting, remember to put your own oxygen mask on first!
Cherry waves to Expletive, Stressy, Rachael, KT, Chic, Shanara, Tinsel, We3 (hope you've warmed up), Hazel and That.
I've put Wendy in the corner with Ned, the thread might as well get some use out of her too! Tuesday night she disgraced herself by getting into the music room and trying to have her evil way with a guitar stand, then hiding under the bin cupboard in the kitchen when challenged in her behaviour. We have been warned she's properly frightening the dog and so needs to be kept away from him
. The kitchen floor is regularly pretty clean though, so by all means borrow the thread Wendy.
Ta Das
✓ dog sent for a wash and a haircut (he gets them more than I do. Must fix this)
✓ whole house hoovered in his absence. I had to empty the hoover twice
.
✓ S&S
✓ LOL
✓ I've broken the back of the research for my new project. Just waiting for documents to turn up now.
✓ DH went to IKEA and bought DS2's new bed and mattress, so we had
✓ cheat tea of IKEA meatballs and rösti.
✓ got brave and changed the yellow cartidge in the printer when it started shouting for it
❎ Did not finish printing as it now leaves little yellow marks all over each page if I print in colour. Arses. DH says this may mean the cartridge is duff. Even more arses.
To Dos for today
🔳 Fix printer. Do printing. I can do documents in black and white, but the actual report needs colour. Bum.
🔳 Fill in and send off EHCP forms that arrived on Tuesday.
🔳 Send another email to DS3's humanities teacher, who seems incapable of understanding that shouting the same instructions at him, ever louder, will not help him process the information. Telling him off when he can't then divine what is in her head is not helpful. On the one hand, she's only a couple of years qualified; on the other hand, she was a special needs TA and should know better.
🔳 Do maths and science homework with DS3
🔳 Re-institute daily reading (bad Mum) and yoga for DS3. Capitalise on his love of Harry Potter and the cute new yoga app we've found to do this.
🔳 Drum lesson for DS3
🔳 Take DD to Greek, if it's on
🔳 Take DS2 for a haircut, you can almost see hair at the back of his head in some places! (He has a proper, 90s, long on top short everywhere else cut).
