Swish through September 2019 with the fledglings - Flylady thread

Let's swish and swipe our way through September, decluttering as we go with the Flylady! We have a mix of old and new fledglings and everyone is welcome to join us for chat and motivation. Thanks to Stressy for running a fabulous August thread!

The Flylady Launch Pad is the place to start each day - each week focuses on a different zone of the house to clean if you have decluttered it first (can't clean clutter) and you can also follow the Babysteps if you'd like to introduce one new element each day and build on that.

If you like to plan in advance, the weekly Sneak Peek will give you advance notice of the missions and zone coming up, it changes each weekend.

The monthly focus for September is making the bed.

Zoo - I took up ballet and tap in my 40s several years ago having never been to a class as a child and love it. We are a proper mix in the classes, late starters like me, young adults who went right through dance school grades and want to keep ticking over, all shapes and sizes. No leotards, I just wear a tee shirt and leggings.

ExpletiveDelighted · 13/09/2019 06:59

Tada!

Fed cats
De-pooped litter trays
Cleaned loo
Put empty milk bottles out
Washing on
Made a cuppa and back to bed for 15 mins

Solitarycaddis · 13/09/2019 07:12

Good morning! Internet working so just popped in to say:

Chic so sorry you are unwell, and hope tests results ok and provide answers Bear Flowers

Zoo Wow those hair buns are a-maz-ing!! I couldn't manage anything as remotely complicated as those! The teacher was right, you will be in demand for show day! Most of all, fantastic news that LilZoo had a good time!!!! I still have a box of wierd and wonderful ballet stuff knocking around somewhere if you are interested. Things like toe tape and little foam toe caps for pointe shoes and pink waxed thread for something or other and all the usual pins and tights and stuff... .Let me know if you need any of it!

Bower that's rotten about those scams and sorry you were upset

Toostressy I am now imagining you twirling about with a cane, wearing top hat and tails! Grin.

Hope your dd's gums/teeth not too sore Expletive

Waves to Foxes, Lisette, Honu, Tidy, Laputa I've and baby I've and everyone else!

Now off to do some ballet of sorts with dhorse! Well, encouraging him to take a few steps backwards and do a "shoulder in" Grin. It's not easy to be elegant when you have feet as large as dinner plates Grin Grin

ChicCroissant · 13/09/2019 09:41

Good morning!

Second load of laundry in, first one was teatowels and cloths so no ironing , second load in now of shirts. Looking quite bright and breezy here so may take the risk of hanging it all outside while I go out this morning.

It's Friday - we made it! Give yourselves a pat on the back.

While I was typing this, my GP surgery rang and I've got a hospital appointment for the next set of tests in about 10 days time which is good.

Catch you later!

Beautiful day here. I'm going to start an autumn house clean. I think the windows need doing. Will need to do a quick holding clean and start a more thorough one over the next two weeks.

Fabulous drying weather.

Lisette1940 · 13/09/2019 12:45

Glad you enjoyed tap Toostressy. I have an older friend in her sixties who has always done ballet. She's so limber. An inspiration. After having major dental work she casually mentioned to the dentist that she was going to a 90 minute ballet class later. He had to insist she didn't go as it was too much he felt after dental surgery. So she obeyed but was most put out!

Stilllivinginazoo · 13/09/2019 14:56

Gorgeous afternoon here, laundry drying nicely! May go out again in a bit to collect paperwork from surgery, just avoiding the school rush at the moment. Have done food shopping and DD in a good mood having had a good day at school.

Had a shit day! Friday the bloody 13th.

Lisette1940 · 13/09/2019 18:28

I'm sorry to hear that Bower. I'm guessing it's work related. Hopefully you've retreated to the summerhouse of solace with wine. 🍷💐🍃🍂🏡

foxessocks · 13/09/2019 18:42

Hi everyone!

Sorry about the bad day bower hope you're feeling happier now.

It's been a bit of a week here, the committee I volunteer on have had some big problems and I offered to help which then led to me doing it all and it's still ongoing Confused. And my actual work have asked me to do some overtime this weekend as it's so busy.

But good news is dh finished and submitted his dissertation this week!!!!! This fact hasn't actually sunk in for either of us. It's so weird him not working when he's at home!

In other news today on the school run ds crashed his scooter into a huge load of thistles literally head first I had to pull him out! He was covered in little spikes the poor thing. So I was late picking dd up and then she fell off her bike on the way home.

I told you it had been a bit of a week! Grin as for flying...ahem. I did put some more stuff on eBay earlier so the decluttering continues!

sorry for the me, me, me post but I'm horribly behind with the chat on here.

Bowerbird5 · 13/09/2019 21:09

Thanks Lisette it was gin and then tea with BF.

Can't go into it but been in tears. Told them I am taking sick leave. Wish I had retired last July.

There will be lots of decluttering here next week. My God this house will be sorted out.I will be on a mission to get rid of lots of things????????

WOW! Foxes that is a relief perhaps he would like to some mundane tasks like housework to catch up on what he missed out on while writing.

Flying today I folded some clothes. TA bloody DA!Grin

TooStressyTooMessy · 13/09/2019 21:20

Bower FlowersBrewGin.

What a mixed time you have had foxes. Absolutely brilliant news about your DH and dissertation though Smile.

Autumn clean sounds like something Flylady would approve of lisette as long as you do it manageably Smile.

zoo and SC, instead of picturing me with a top hat and cane picture me learning very very simple tap steps very slowly Grin. Tbh I probably wouldn’t have gone for it were it not that the dance school has started a new beginners class and it is a time and location I can do. I was really nervous but wanted to do it more than I was nervous iyswim. I’ll leave the fancy dancing to Expletive!

Chic, I actually have acquired a pair of size 5 tap shoes for free amazingly! They are very well used and I think actually are a bit small but will be absolutely fine for now so that is great. Glad you have an appointment although of course sorry you are still unwell Flowers.

Ive BrewCake

Today I managed to do home bleugh and have almost finished my physio except for today. That is all though.

ChicCroissant · 13/09/2019 23:13

You did all the uniforms YESTERDAY? Hmm what kind of witch craft is this?

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/09/2019 17:50
ExpletiveDelighted · 14/09/2019 18:18

You're meant to prune buddleia in Feb/Mar Zoo - mine is very scraggy now but Indo leave it over winter.

Impresses with your uniform exploits! I've gotn 4 loads done and line dried today, 2xcolour 1xwhite 1xtowels and WM is now on a maintenance wash (90°) with the shower curtain and a load of soda crystals.

Off out to see Downton Abbey tonight.
