Swish through September 2019 with the fledglings - Flylady thread

Let's swish and swipe our way through September, decluttering as we go with the Flylady! We have a mix of old and new fledglings and everyone is welcome to join us for chat and motivation. Thanks to Stressy for running a fabulous August thread!

The Flylady Launch Pad is the place to start each day - each week focuses on a different zone of the house to clean if you have decluttered it first (can't clean clutter) and you can also follow the Babysteps if you'd like to introduce one new element each day and build on that.

If you like to plan in advance, the weekly Sneak Peek will give you advance notice of the missions and zone coming up, it changes each weekend.

The monthly focus for September is making the bed.

Bowerbird5 · 25/09/2019 17:34

He's absolutely gorgeous Carys and love his name. I was lurking so saw him earlier but Ipad playing up a bit kept chucking me off and that blooming I accept thingy every time i turn a page.
DS3 was put down as 6lb 5oz but as the premie babygro someone gave me was too big I thought student midwife was so excited at her first birth that she wrote it down wrong and he was more like 5lb 6oz and placenta problem too. Gritty and thought to have stopped working properly several weeks before which is when I first went into labour 4 cm dilated three weeeks before but they eventually sent me to mum's then home.
Sorry you had to have EMCS it is a major operation so no lifting washing, driving etc for 6weeks.

Friend dragged me out of bed to meet her but first
Made bed.
Brought wash down and put one wash on.
Cleaned out fridge as DH always peers at everything when he comes home as if it has been in there for weeks. Actually the plums have so need to stew those tonight. They look alright.
Home after shopping and lunch at Bestie's to dust boudoir. Need to vacuum the rug and find homes for a few clothes/bedding.
Iced cake I made yesterday a little dry probably because I put it in oven then realised I hadn't put last egg in. They were local large ones though.
Need to have a quick wipe around kitchen and wash floor tonight.
zoo those girls aren't well. Doesn't sound good for you either.

AM Thurs.Out with church friend to organise buffet for Monday evening in Lakes.

Ha HA !Carys more than one person told you were nesting!

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/09/2019 18:31

foxessocks · 25/09/2019 19:12

zoo Shock that is seriously organised! I won't tell you off , I confess I used the father Christmas threat on ds this evening...in my defence he has been really pushing my buttons today and I was out of ideas!

Resisting urge to post festive emojis .....

Maseandmum · 25/09/2019 20:51

Heya can I join? Recently moved into a new home and it’s finally been renovated so now I want to make it look like a home and keep it like that!. I’ll need help though.

Lisette1940 · 25/09/2019 21:04

Maseandmum how lovely to have a newly renovated house and welcome!

It's zone 4 this week so main bedroom.

For I've 🌲 - undecorated 🤩

Lisette1940 · 25/09/2019 21:07

House is tidy except for ds's book corner but I'll do that in daylight. Laundry so so.

I've been eating Stroopwaffels. I have the usual caramel version but also white and milk chocolate versions.

I have a stroopwaffel habit - there I've admitted it.

ChicCroissant · 25/09/2019 21:15

Evening!

I should be panic cleaning but I am drinking a large coffee instead! We have someone coming round to swap our broadband and telephone tomorrow - except they didn't order the router until today Angry so the chances of us having broadband tomorrow are minimal Angry so although I may be able to check the thread on my phone I may not post any links tomorrow. aware this sounds like a weak excuse but it's true

Lovely to have two new babies on the thread, do give them a cuddle from me Carys and IVE

Links for tomorrow - Launch Pad and Babystep

I'm not sure when our current t'internet provider is going to turn ours off, so I may be able to check in tomorrow morning. I will be watching

Tidyhomewannabe · 25/09/2019 21:18

Waving to everyone, welcome to the newbies and new babies.
Apologies for being awol recently, the past few weeks have been emotionally draining, I've just been muddling through the days waiting for the dark clouds to pass . Finally feeling upto doing more than the necessities so I'll be back with full force ta da lists tomorrow....well maybe with a small tada list but definitely for the chat Grin

Off to bed in a mo to read - has anyone read the handmaids tale and the sequel ? I am considering this as my next book (although it takes me ages to read a book because I normally read a couple of pages then fall asleep!! )

Maseandmum · 25/09/2019 21:50

Lisette our bedroom really needs a good clean, so that’s a great place to start!. We had to reconfigure the whole layout of the house, and then had an extension on the back for the kitchen and the bathrooms. But it’s still a cosy little house, so I love it!. Even if it does mean things look more cluttered.

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/09/2019 06:10

maseandmumwelcome
Tidy well done for ticking over whilst feeling down, remember that's a big achievement in itselfFlowersI need to restart a book habit..
Foxes we have a dwarf vertically challenged man that shops in our local supermarket and when mine were little I whispered that's Fred,Santa's helper and if he sees you being naughty he will tell santa...
I've if it makes you happy emoji away!
Lisette never tried a stroopwaffle.sounds like a good thing as I fear I may too become addicted!

Been laying here on my phone for best part an hour.its dark and chilly and not inviting to get up anymore.autumn/winter has arrived....

Solitarycaddis · 26/09/2019 08:02

Good morning!

Lisette re: the stroopwaffels, do we need to stage an intervention? Grin

A warm welcome to Maseandmum! And congrats on your new home!

Tidy sorry things have been so difficult of late. Flowers Never thought I would say this as I used to be an avid reader but I have largely given up reading novels! Appalling I know! I just don't seem to have the mental focus and as you say, I fall asleep if I read in bed nowadays! Hope you enjoy yours though!

Chic good luck with all the technicals today!

Strong Brew Brew for I've and Carys

Off to the country for long weekend this afternoon as DD has a teaching day tomorrow. I am not remotely ready! Have huge list of things to do before departure, both admin and housework related! Need to finish off a humungous load of bed linen and towels too! Late start as Oestrogel giving me disturbing wierdy dreams/broken nights. Aargh!

Have a good day everyone!

ExpletiveDelighted · 26/09/2019 08:35

I didn't know you could get chocolate stroopwaffels! Doesn't it get messy when you put them on top of your cuppa to warm through?

Tidy - welcome back Flowers,

LivingInLaputa · 26/09/2019 08:41

Hugs tidy
Welcome mase

Ugh sore throat this morning. FFS.

Solitarycaddis · 26/09/2019 09:35

Hope respective sore throats don't develop in to anything Zoo and Laputa!

Always give furries good walk before travelling so they behave in the car, so just got togged up in wet weather gear, waterproof boots, put harnesses, collars and leashes on them, struggled out of front door, only for them to get to the nearest tree and turn around and race back to the nearest sofa back at home Grin. They are not fond of raindrops Grin Oh well.

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/09/2019 09:41

SC I am hugely grateful my indoor reared curries scratch to go out first thing and once harnessed up for time in the garden a drop of rain and gust of wind sees them run back upstairs to the respective favourite beds they sleep on and look at me like it's my fault!!Grin

I fear I am succumbing.dripping nose has started and carrying milk/bread from local shop cause chest hurt/feel scratchy on inside
Uncertain whether to run out house whilst j still can or rest and hope I can fight it off....

Brewfor I've and carys

Stilllivinginazoo · 26/09/2019 09:42

Ok that's a classic.i don't rear indoor curries of course,F.U.R.R.I.E.S STUPID PHONEBlush

Lisette1940 · 26/09/2019 09:45

Intervention unnecessary because we are eating our way through the issue 😜

I think the chocolate ones can be bought in airports but not on the UK high street. We haven't tried putting them over a hot cup of coffee but I'm happy to try a few attempts 😋
